Thanks for the response Kain, hopefully the Imperfects still don't want to break all my bones!

That said I may have made the mistake of assuming all Imperfects do better than I do on the battlefield, can't really blame me when it tends to be the case almost all the time Xp. I figured a 20 kill surplus would have been pretty standard although from other posts from the imperfects perhaps I was being a bit unfair in my expectations.

I did find the Concord post rather humorous, and was afraid I may have started something a bit out of my depth when it turned into that, but it seems it was just satire so we are all good.

That said I'm glad to hear that you don't approve of the passive SP farming any more than I do.

Why play at all if you don't want to win the matches. Here is an idea, watch a number tick up over time, pretend it is your 'sp' and quit playing Dust. It is beyond clear your only enjoyment from the game is increasing numbers. If you don't care about winning matches just because it doesn't give you more numbers then you really don't understand the point of the game.

You are a shining example of this really selfish attitude that seems to be prevailing. If I don't get something then I don't care! Why not try and win the match for you and your team?

But the game has something on the line, a reason to take it seriously. The victory at the end of the game of baseball can have meaning. But they designed dust currently to be more like a game of back yard baseball.

Winning means nothing, middle of the game the pitcher leaves becusse his mom calls him in for dinner, and then someone gets mad and tries to make everyone hate him for leaving in the middle of a game by raging on the playground.

See the problem? See the difference between a game where winning has value and a game designed like backyard sports ?

I agree with you It's lame, and leeching is dumb. But when I had time I put a lot of effort into matches, and so did kain. The man picked me up in his fancy lav, and he was at the top of the leader board using nothing but a forge gun.

I don't agree with making any beta tester out to be a villain for playing within the rules of the game. Kain is great , he doesn't deserve **** for beta testing the game. Kain doesn't deserve a bad name just becuase he abused a mechanic. Zion has been abusing the FW system , and look ! It's getting fixed.

The cap is far from arbitrary, they have 100 reasons even if you happen to disagree with those reasons. Month long roll over sp , the system stops abuse.

The only thing really bothers me from other players is when someone joins a match, and then doesn't show up to play.

There were quite a few corp players in the pub match and I knew it was going to be a close battle since both teams had good players. I also was kind of expecting a good performance from Kain to help us balance the tide against the Pink Fluffy Bounty Hunters.

It's a pub match. It is meaningless of the highest kind. Winning or losing does not matter in the slightest.


People do this because of the cap. Even if it's not a daily cap, it's still a cap. The only thing a cap really does is limit overall progression, but also has the nasty side effect of preventing anyone who misses time from catching up at all.


I do this all the time as well, because more often than not I'm too busy doing other stuff to actually play. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this, because people AFK'ing in the MCC are actually getting considerably less ISK and SP than someone who plays the whole match legit.

There's no reason to make a big deal out of something that isn't really an issue.

Been telling ccp since open beta with no response. Anyone remember when sp was 100% based on war points ? Ahh the good old days where dropships with missiles ruled the sky.

Btw my fix would be change passive income to 1 sp per second outside the redzone. 5-7 sp per warpoint. Passive sp is only earnedif your team wins. Salvage only goes to the winning team.

Also hate me all you want but I still think you should hate ccp more :p I had mad stomach flu last night, I never p leeched before, but when I saw sp.was being reset like hell I'd let my sickness waste my active booster !

Back to the fact that I was on last night. I had not hit my cap and was afk in mcc. I had a match that I only got like 1800~ sp then the next match on got ZERO. There was a reason kain was doing what he was doing and it had to do with testing.

There have been many issues regarding bugs with sp caps and we thought this could be another one. More specifically some players (me specifcially) logged in last night late to get a few more SPs and dust acted as though I had it the cap when i only earned about 150k yesterday.

There is a reason kain didn't come out and say "beers was afking in mcc and was bitching about not getting sp" He was in a squad and left it to help me figure out whats going on. He thougth ccp may have nerfed the "sit in mcc earn sp game mode"

Kain's one the good mercs in dust and didn't try and make an excuse for it. When in reality I was the reason he was doing it.



PS I'm not mad/attacking/trolling you deadeye because your corcern for the issue is genuine to me. I am just disappointed in how you went about it. If you caught me on video and posted a ty ijdifhread about me I would simply respond "Yup your right, now what?"

Think what you will I believe my own naivety was kind of exposed here. I didn't think corp players were conducting AFK passive SP farming, and I assumed it was pretty generally frowned upon. It personally irks me pretty bad so I figured I had an opportunity to get a lot of exposure to the issue. After being told by about a dozen players, both here and in rofl that they do it all the time and so what, I kind off feel like the odd man out here. I still think its a ****** thing to do, but when even my own peps are doing it I really don't have any moral ground to stand on.
