If you are suggesting that Kain had intended to play the match. Waited to get into the match, picked the spawn point and pressed X, then in the next 10 seconds between his spawn, and being able to move his character something came up to occupy him for the next 25 minutes it sounds pretty far-fetched. Your love for the guy means you will believe what you will and I understand that. Just realize that it's by far the least likely explanation for what happened here. If he didn't spawn in I would be more likely to agree you might be correct.

The 24 hour window to make 300,000 SP is what I believe caused people to leech. I wouldn't expect that Kane leeched before, or would again because the incentive to do so is now gone.

I want to bring attention to how even the best people in the community will make bad calls when given a hard set of circumstances. Make my limited term SP by leeching a few matches I don't have time to play to stay at the highest levels of competition.

It probably wouldn't have effected the battle, and nobody would have probably really taken that much notice. It's not that hard to justify leeching.

Well in this case I think it did cost us our match, and I took notice. it's the risk you take if you decide to leech.

I will not feel bad for posting a video of what I experienced in a game. I had no grude against Kane, I only took note because it was a player I expected to help our side. If it were any other well known players It would have been the same story different person. If it was a nobody I wouldn't have even noticed they didn't show up to be honest.

If you reread the post it's pretty clear I said I would not have even noticed an afk player leeching if it wasn't a name I checked to see how they were doing in the match. I don't normally check other players in a match below the 11 slot since I can't see them without scrolling. It was the fact that it's a know solid player that put me in a position to check his score. For that reason It's true I would only have posted a known player here, not out of hatred for known players, but by the reason I don't check players I've never heard of before on the leaderboards.

This is a big deal, unless you don't have the capability to express care towards others. Regardless of how you view public matches, many people are playing these just to have fun and you are hindering that by "leeching" for lack of a better term. And while CCP can certainly take measures to prevent this from happening, I know there intention wasn't for people to "leech" and ruin others' experience so I won't blame them, I will blame the people who's intention was to "leech."

Also you are not "forced to play in those matches." That is why passive skill points exists. If you don't have to time to play as much as others than don't complain that you can't keep up with them. And the whole "we're bored" excuse is extremely poor.

If you are to bored to be bothered to play the game, here is an idea take a break from the game. If you are only drudging through the gameplay for SP why are you even playing the game if you don't enjoy it?

Here is a great example of what you should not do. Decide you are to bored or to busy to play the game, and then pretend to play the game while not playing the game so you can get more rewards. See that makes you an ******* to the people you hurt who want to play the game and take public matches seriously. For the vast majority of current Dust players Pub matches are the only thing that matters.

To be clear a full squad afk on the other team would also make me sad because I prefer to have good battles, ones where every player who signs up wants to fight and win.

I want SP as well, but not enough to play if I don't feel like playing, or leeching matches for those who are saying that's just being smart. My SP shouldn't come at the expense of my own enjoyment or that of others.

And this is exactly why I tend to stray away from MMO's. People don't play to have fun, they play to unlock stuff. And it ultimately reflects in the gameplay.

There is no need to accuse people of "crying" because they have a different opinion than you as you did in a few responses earlier. I am however not sure you are seeing the bigger picture here - things escalate. Right now it's not uncommon to find one player each match who is AFK for free skill points. It's not that big a deal presently because one player doesn't make or break a 16 man team (that still doesn't make it right). However, if we let this become acceptable behavior then soon more and more people will start doing it until eventually you may have half your team AFK which is pretty significant, or worse every time you queue up for a public match the majority of people on both teams are AFK - sure it may be fair if both teams have the same number of skill point padders but playing with half the player count is not nearly as fun as the full thing, too bad some people don't care about "fun" any more.

The reason why I think this is even an issue was because yesterday had an effective daily cap of 280,000SP. Anyone who hit the daily cap or weekly cap normally didn't have any reason to leech. The people who wanted max SP were met with their first real incentive to leech yesterday.

Look, I understand why you have the opinion you do. It is helping the said player to get better fittings to help his or her corporation gain a strong foothold in New Eden. It is still a selfish move. Yes, corporations can become very serious business, but it should never come at the expense of someone else (other than the corps getting destroyed, of course )

CCP will surely put in a system to kick players leeching anyways, not like any of our arguments matter. Just a nice way to expose the integrity level of some people. Carry on.

1) RL. Nobody cares if John Smith got his wife to take 3 points on his licence to avoid a driving ban, now if its an MP on the other hand all over the natonial news. If you put yourself in a public position you should expect to be called out on everything you do good or bad, if you dont like it, dont go public. simples.

2) well what you waiting in the MCC for then F()*^^&*g PLAY but noone is forcing you, you can choose to press the on/off button on your PS3. You dont need to be the highest sp player to progress, you will still progress playing the 1 match a week you're RL time allows without ruining other peoples fun.

Doesn't matter how its spun its never right, beta or not anyone exploiting an exploit more than twice should be perma banned. Once the time you didnt know it was an exploit, Twice to test it was actually and exploit and not something you imagined and thrice to prove its repeatable before reporting to CCP at this point let CCP fix it and stop exploiting a known exploit.
