What I got out of this thread....
I play using kb/m, Legion will be the greatest thing in gaming. I cannot suck CCP c@ck any harder. I play using a ds3, I have no idea what the F@CK is going on anymore. F@ck this game. I'm out.
Not specific, but generalization. Have fun on PC without a good chunk of us. |

I logged in today for the 200th day in a row, I stayed up all night till 10am watching the keynote speech, I was concerned over my corps drop of around 100 places in the weekly Kill board since 1.8 came out, I played DUST rather than the 75 other playstation 3 games I owned,I thought about what DUST would have been like on my PS4, in other words I cared and was committed to your game and had made it a regular part of my life. BUT, when given the chance to make a statement about the future of DUST, CCP chose to say little other than Legion was the game you really wanted to make and we got no new news about DUST. Without giving us direction for the future of the game why should we continue to play it and worse why should we trust you won't do the same if we invest in Legion. You could have spend 15 minutes telling us you had plans to keep DUST relevant or even said we were invited to be in the Beta and would keep our SP and our corps in Legion. But you said nothing, promised nothing and left us with little hope in the present or for the future. There was so much you could have tried to say but didn't instead you didn't even try to give us a vision for the future of DUST other than come play Legion which is really early and a long time away. I suggest someone should try and give us reasons to remain invested in CCP products and do it quickly because people do not tend to invest in people and products once trust is severed and they feel used. Thank you for the enjoyment you've given me over the past 15 months or so I hope you intend to can convince me(and all the Dusters) it was worth my time and will continue to be.

Personally, for me, Dust514 is my favorite game. It is the best FPS as far as playability.
CCP, you have an opportunity to turn this game into the biggest FPS in the world if expand your horizons and also to move Dust514 into the PS4 and future PS platforms. All of your loyal players that have put alot of time and money into this game, want this. Also we have been promised that you would continue to develop this game into the future. We don't want a PC based game. When you are used to using a console, clicking buttons on a keyboard in a fierce battle, is not going to cut it for any of us. Most of us could care less about EVE, as it is a different game that is barely connected to Dust. Change the conditions in which you can call an orbital strike, and you no longer need EVE for dust.
I have played all of the FPS games on many different platforms, and dust has something that the others do not. It would be foolish to stop development of dust, instead of expanding it into the world. It has a greater potential then you realize.
Also, I think you should really make an anouncement and clarify things to the players ASAP, to give us some hope about the future of the game, or you will most likely lose all of your loyal, paying players. Obviously this firestorm of player reactions should tell you something. |

So all your speechs about gathering 2 community of players in one universe (you know "one universe // one war" all over the place) was it all bullshit ???
Do you really think that us, DUST player will go on pc to play our game after what you just did ? Do you really think that PC's FPS gamer will play this game while theire is so many other so much better than this one ? Do you really think that EVE players will play DUST or legion or whatever is name even with all the time they spend on EVE?
EVE players can't make this game live, they are too busy due to their first game. Such a game need is own dedicated community, just like the one you had until now.
Now i see all the time and money invested in DUST. Because yes, it was an investement for the future of this game. I loved this game, I believed in CCP to make it growth just like EVE before. Now you just erase everything and take a new start letting us dying slowly.
Most part of your game was not fun to play but I played it for what it could be next month or next year. And now you just smash up everyone in the face with this...
Now i'm done. No more DUST, no more EVE, no more CCP. I'll not giving you 1 more cents or time.
I wish you the worst for your "new game". |

so i'm surprised but not..
dust is my 1st ever fsp.. when i saw that it wasn't moving to ps4 i knew it was going do die slowly painfully and be forgotten. legion looks like they took everything we wanted in dust and moved it to pc.
when you look at what is involved in a console game and how much easier changes can be made on pc games i'm actually surprised it took them this long to move the game.

I'm confused by the comments on here. Every Dust player I've had in my squad, myself included, have talked about having this game on the PC. It just makes sense, the PS3 is a dead end, and the PS4 is too limiting.
However, to CCP: I have to agree that it's pretty insane that you'd mention amputating the PS3 community and dividing Legion and Dust into separate games.
The map from the keynote looked basically the same, except with PC level graphics. Is cross platform not possible (with lower graphics for the PS3 version)? And if that's out of the question, I think everyone on this board has made it clear character transfer is a must.
I shelled out some cash for this game to support its development and future. It would be a shame to finally see the dream realized, but have no community left to share it.
Thanks for a great year of fun with Dust CCP, I'll be staying tuned for more updates. |

Well personally i don't think project Legion is a bad thing. I allways wanted to see dust 514 come to pc, due to the restrictions on ps3, not to mention getting anoyed with the lag. Atleast in legion we might be able to get those city, dence forest, complex maps. Like it was in the early stages of dust 514 (somewhat) and being able to use the full extensity of my 50mbps modem connection. But i do think that they should not dumb down the game. Instead make sure that there is a more complex character development, a larger skill tree like EVE and a vast array of unique vehicles and weapons as it was meant to be in dust 514. Legion should build on what is in dust 514 and extend upon it's base, just making sure that when the alpha/beta stages begin, that atleast we have all of our race basic vehicles like mtacs, speedbikes, etc. That when we need to call an installation down on the surface, we can do so by a large choice of diversity. Not to mention hopefully having atleast some form of interaction with the environment around us. Afterall the sky is the limit, once it is on pc. However i do think that once out of beta stage, some way or form ccp should include the ps4 into it. So in my oppinion Legion is the inevitable future of dust 514, just like EVE has went thru it's fases.
Now that beeing all said there is the character i have now. I don't mind starting all over, however i do wan't compensation for what i invested into the game. If the isk and skills work different, that's fine, but i should be compensated accordingly, like for instance. 30 mil isk per 1 mil sp and then a full asset refund in isk, also a refund of all aur into isk. Those few rare items that i have, need to be refunded aswell just for a higher price then there counterparts, you know like the Colossus suits, etc. And then the total amount of it all (dust isk) converted to legions economy(legions isk), whatever the percentage is. Not to mention some bonus item in Legion for the inconvenience and to get as started. If those can be met and those are proberly the best way to do it, then sign me up for alpha and beta stage (the sooner, the better).
It might sound hard to some, but Dust on ps3 is a sinking ship, it is better to just evolve with the game and try and get the most out of it. Because it will evolve whether you want it to or not or should i say . |

Hmmm... Mixed feelings about this.
I'm an EVE player who came over with the CE release. Enjoyed Dust a lot. And felt it had a lot of potential. So I am disappointed to see that potential not realised.
In saying that, if some form of recognition is given to Dust players in Legion, it will really help a lot. Asking for a full transfer is a joke, it will never happen, because it would alienate too many new players. 'Why start this game when people have years of free advantage'. Not to mention all the PC isk that has been farmed that would get dumped into certain peoples wallets and the piles of aurum bought BPO's that would skew any kind of market badly.
However giving all Dust players Collectors edition Templar style gear, a small static boost to starting skills & isk, and other items would be a great way to recognise those players contributions to Legion. Even if Dust continues Legion will be heavily influenced by it's progress so far and those players are the ones that have helped to shape that progress. |

In case your unclear ccp...
1. This is negative feedback, alot of it. 2. Console players won't be excited about p.c news.(what were you people thinking ) 3. Most folks aren't even watching your video of legion because it has no meaning for them. 4. The community has already started getting charge back actions against you- as in actual action not just complaints. 5. You should.be doing damage control around now-you haven't even posted a reply 6. The community is angry because: .no feedback about our game .no mention of transfer of anything from dust to legion .no mention of any console intentions for legion, even if it was only ps4/xbox1 .you just did an event that peopl bought boosters for. .you could of told us that ccp felt it was time to move on from dust in oreder to improve it (as in what you are doing with legion) pn the build up to fanfest and that you were excited to announce something new, without.losing your reveal momment but you let people go all the way to fanfest-not good. . It seems as though legion is the game that dust has been evolving towards but is nowhere near- therefore you folk must of been putting more thought, time, reaction to feedback, and probably even community ideas into- you used us to beta . You not only used us to.beta but it was for a game most won't have access to. 7. it is largely agreed that legion looks great but i'm confused who you intend to play it.. players interested in eve's universe have eve to play, console dust bunnies don't have access to your p.c game. Fps fans already have multitudes of fps games cod,bf,ps,etc. 8 we kept playing dust because it hade a great community (which will go separate ways mostly not to legion) because it was easy to access your whole social group in one glance (you probably kept that but.who will be there?) It had the potential to become a great game (it did but you called it legion and changed it's platform) and everybody knew it couldn't stay on ps3 for alot longer- nobody expected to be told you wouldn't have console progression.
Maybe you were all caught up in the excitement you had in legion over the last few months knowing you can announce the finally realised version of dust must of had you all buzzing but for some reason you all completely failed to see that your announcement for a p.c relese wouldn't be met.with cheers from console gamers or that it wouldn't be enough to simply say "here's our new game" without news of effort in dust getting anything in the new game. You also missed the fact announcing a new game in dust's keynote was a bad idea... what have you people been on? really i mean it seems like you've all been sniffing up the office glue. |

There's a lot of people feeling let down here, and I guess that's understandable. I've been testing Dust since the closed beta in early-to-mid 2012, even got a PS3 for the privilege. I've given lots of feedback, and seen it mostly ignored, and seen the game experience, and the size of its its playerbase, go downhill. That made me feel let down. I feel I've invested a lot in this game. I still think, in fact I'm absolutely certain that project Legion was the right thing to do at this point in time, in fact it's probably even overdue.
I gave this just a moment's thought before fanfest, "What would be announced for Dust?" It wasn't too hard to guess - the PS3 is now very much a last-gen console. Sure, it's still current, but someday it won't be, and before long the number of people who still devote that piece of space in their living room to this ageing platform will be quite small. So there had to be a change, and really we all knew that. It would be a change of platform, a big change, and really we all knew that too. And big changes get announced at Fanfest. And, be serious - next year's Fanfest would be too late. The PS3 would be such old news in 12 months' time that most of the (remaining) Dust playerbase would have left already. There'd be nothing left to save.
This is the first time I've felt optimistic about a viable New Eden Shooter in over a year.
So, having given this just a moment's thought in advance, it wasn't really news to me. I didn't know if it would migrate to PS4, or PC, (or both), but I knew it had to change. And we're all experienced and worldly-wise gamers here, I think if everyone's honest with themselves, they all knew that change had to come.
I'm disappointed that Dust never turned into the game so many of us hoped it would be. We wanted a new, responsive, cerebral command-led tactical combat experience. First impressions were very promising, but over time we got a laggy, unresponsive chaotic strafe/bunny-hopper game which rewards the individual for lack of tactical and team-oriented gameplay. To me, it feels dumbed-down and frustrating to see players constantly hamper their team-mates' efforts because WARPOINTSORZ!!! We've not been backward in giving feedback to this effect, so I can only conclude that (as I said very early in the beta) we're apparently asking more than the PS3 can deliver. Time to move on to a new platform which can deliver the game many of us really wanted.
Best of luck. I can't imagine an opportunity like this comes up that often, and I look forward to being a part of the project.
And remember to look back to the old promo videos of fireteams shooting drones, and clone soldiers stunned by nearby explosions and sliding into cover Brink-style. And multiple battlefield installations being dropped in because they are of tactical value - not just diverting your team's attention from the actual game objectives because blowing them up gives warpoints. And command mode, where *all* warpoint allocation should be dictated by the plan, not just what gives the easiest reward (Commander says "blow this up" then blowing it up gives warpoints. Otherwise you can get points by capturing it.) That's certainly the game I was, and still am, hoping for.

Hi all.
I think the problem isn't that ccp develop a game that its similar to dust. It's fine to develop new games like valkyirie, or even another game similar to dust, yeah it's cool... The problem is that ccp thinks we are morons. If you make a game that totally eclipses another similar game and say that they are different and still developed, you are telling us a nonsense while smiles to the public. If you take an event that lots of us are waiting during a year to talk about dust and present another game instead that has the same characteristics, means that you are replacing the game and making publicity with the event. And if you post in your blog "DUST itself has a lot more shooting-in-the-face action to come." seems that you are telling: ey don't worry mercenaries, we are making a countdown of few months to Dust 514 . I have had plenty of fun hours playing Dust and i'm thankful for that, but the development and the "surprises" and the broken promises and the AUR that lot of people has invested to support you, are powerfull reasons to blame this sudden announcement; but ey! this is businesss i think, non ethical responsibility.

Seems to me an official letter to your player base is due, CCP, with an apology and and some affirmations that what we've invested wasn't a total waste...if you still have that in you.
The problem is, they did screw us over intentionally. They used us as beta testers and as funders for an unrelated project. I hope CCP loses all their investors and and the rest of the eve fan base sees them for what they really are.

Excellent. I feel this decision is about the only right direction for Dust right now, and the re-branding to EVE Legion is a good call.
That said, I'll drop some things that come to my mind about this:
Legion will bring the Dust legacy of ISK printing through planetary conquest and character rerolling and add to that the abundance of hacking available for the PC platform. If the linked economy provides a chance for it, EVE empires will find a way to print ISK through the weak link to the sandbox. This includes cheats and bots, but the very real concern is how the pay-to-inject-items economy will connect. I think there should be an extended quarantine period for Legion and EVE economy link.
If a portion of the items in game are injected through cash shop, it has a negative effect on the purity of the sandbox economy. I think this should be very carefully looked into in Legion design. P2W cash shop is a necessity, be it for skillpoints and what not, but Legion would be a really good chance at reworking the item part of the cash shop. I'd call for a cosmetic-skillpoint-booster shop with no injected gear. This way also the industry link for producing weapons would be viable in the far future if it's made reality. |
