So we as a community have poured time, effort and money into a game for only a year to get dropped for some other project with no new content down the road. Thanks for killing this game. Had I known that we'd all get screwed like this I never would have played this game from day one. |

JONAHBENHUR wrote:does it say that dust 514 is shutting down ?? Supposedly CCP signed a 10 year contract with Sony so the game should be up and running that long. If it isn't they'd have to break contract. |

I'm an EVE player who came over with the CE release. Enjoyed Dust a lot. And felt it had a lot of potential. So I am disappointed to see that potential not realised.
In saying that, if some form of recognition is given to Dust players in Legion, it will really help a lot. Asking for a full transfer is a joke, it will never happen, because it would alienate too many new players. 'Why start this game when people have years of free advantage'. Not to mention all the PC isk that has been farmed that would get dumped into certain peoples wallets and the piles of aurum bought BPO's that would skew any kind of market badly.
However giving all Dust players Collectors edition Templar style gear, a small static boost to starting skills & isk, and other items would be a great way to recognise those players contributions to Legion. Even if Dust continues Legion will be heavily influenced by it's progress so far and those players are the ones that have helped to shape that progress.
Such compensation would be a joke. I personally have put more money into this game with special packs such as the elite packs, monthly SP boosters and special event packs such as origin than any game I have ever played. I set into playing this game because of the potential that it had with the idea that it was LONG TERM! CCP told us some of what they want to do in the future but failed to cover a loyal fan base with the minimum of letting us know what would happen to us and our characters. I literally have been running a pay for beta so that "Legion" can come out! What a waste. |

Spartan MK420 wrote:on a side note: they could put all of dust514 players sp into our legion characters by turning it from earned SP, back into bonus sp. We would still have to earn it all back, but it would be collectively available :P. As long as the cap remains the same % and If the sp gathering system is remotely the same I could start all over this way. Hmmmm lets see go from a year's worth of time and effort into starting from scratch essentially losing the characters and gear that we all worked to get. I think not. The funniest thing about this is you don't hear anyone from CCP stepping up to explain the situation and calm down an angered likely soon to be former fan base. |

Even if Dust continues Legion will be heavily influenced by it's progress so far and those players are the ones that have helped to shape that progress. This idea is even worse by promoting the thought that there are players that have an advantage of time on their side. So what are you saying? Are you implying people aren't picking up eve because there are players that have played for years? People do pick up Madden, Cod WOW or ME3 after the game has been out for weeks to years. These players just haven't hit the game from day one. If everyone thought the way you did EVE would not be gaining additional players on top of the fact that I know dust players that picked up EVE because of this FPS. |
