I don't see why you wouldn't. To the Tal-Man slavery would be nothing more than fair treatment for the Prisoners of War they capture. As a race that has grown to power on the harsh exposed steppes of the Tal Mani lands and sandwiched between sprawling lands of the smaller races like the Osmarii, the Paric, and the Blood Raiders such is not only pragmatic but also a form of kindness in some respects showing that the Tal Man have mercy enough to care for defeated foes instead of putting them to the sword. Sure slaves have no legal rights and can commercial be bought and sold at a moments notice but they are alive and may in time earn their freedom or be released by others. Moreover with no codified system of morals directed towards the treatment of slaves you see the birth of the new Ant species as it has come to pass. Ruslan is yours to RP as you see if. He was intended to be a minor officer in the armed forces but perhaps his discovery of Shuri'den'shalvys will catapult him into a more powerful position. Perhaps the Tal Man will release Shuri'den or perhaps they will hold her as a hostage and enslave the other Mur. It's up to you and what you think would make for a better story.
