How about you LISTEN to the community for once eh ? its not useless you just think its useless because you dont like it. if you use the right guns its actually a very useful skill. Rail Rifle Sniper Rifle .. SL .. umm SL is useless die to 1.7 nerfs ... RR and SR .. umm .. I never have an issue where I think to myself . I wish this reloaded faster .. assault suits have .. sidearms ... Useful skill if you were minmatar or gallente with rapid fire weapons like the CR/AR but .. RR and SR ?? It's like giving a reload bonus to the amarr suit .. SCR just don't have reloading issues It's a **** bonus and you know it so what would you rather it was? |

It's slower than the Minmatar ASSAULT for f*cksakes. Nobody wants to run slowly for a very long time. Whoever is responsible for this should be embarrassed. On the plus side it looks pretty awesome.
Why was all of our well-articulated feedback ignored? it isnt slower and you have 4 low slots. i see no problem with it. put a kincat or 2 and you have a fast suit. and still have room for other modules
Edit: my bad looked at the wrong suit. but be honest is .05 of a meter much? |

Well, I was away for a while and voila - 1kk SP sitting there to be spent on something. Just a friendly reminder that the game has no skill cap, so switching a weapon is like what - two weeks of casual play time with boosters on? Sure, it would be nice to spec into the FOTM after 1.8, but after being here since 2012 it's not the end of the world or a reason to quit.

So after reading through this thread it seems the respect guys are upset because they aren't getting all of their sp back. The biggest point I see coming up is about amarr sentinels and how people wanting to switch to cal or min sentinels won't get the points back that they invested in armor to put into shields.
I'm specing into cal scout and will probably end up putting points into everything caldari. If people were really interested in going cal or min heavy why didn't they train into the medium suits first? Get their shield skills up and then spec into amarr heavy while they waited? Or spend skill points into shields after they got their amarr heavy to a good place? I mean seriously, its been months... This is just stupid, they are blaming CCP for choices they made. Instead of saving skill points or putting them into their desired tank they just got the best am or tanked amarrian suit they could. Why should CCP fix that for you? Anyway if this has thought you guys anything it should be patience is a virtue.

I know this'll make a lot of people very happy, and while it's certainly nowhere near the top of my wishlist (not while performance and lag compensation are in such a sorry state), I'll certainly enjoy using a full suite of racial suits - and they look great.
But I'm a little bewildered abut the damage resists for Sentinel suits? It makes sense that the primary resist is aligned to the race's primary enemy's damage type. But the secondary resist for each suit appears to be aligned to one of the suit's racial allies... For example, Caldari: Primary resist is against blasters - this makes perfect sense as blasters are the signature weapon of Caldari's sworn enemy the Gallente. Seconday resist is against Lasers? A weapon type used by Caldari's allies the Amarr! Huh?!
Surely this isn't right? Would it not be more appropriate for the secondary resist to be aligned with the race's secondary enemy?
And also, just to reiterate how much we're still looking forward to all the performance improvements I'm sure you're going to be announcing any day now... Let's not have a repeat of last Fanfest's almost off-hand "Oh, and it's also more performant" when in fact it wasn't.

Alright, this is most likely an enormous waste of time, seeing how CCP isn't famous for accepting our feedback (see: Amarr scout and Caldari assault bonuses in 1.8), but hell, if nothing else it might help them understand why we are upset at least...
First off all, the decision to refund the SP in the Dropsuit Command tree was a good one. Thank you for that CCP. I'm not going to to say you completely ****** up the refund issue, you just missed the target a bit.
You designed this game CCP so you know how closely tied dropsuit choice and tanking skill choices are. Some players have spent millions of SP in one tanking style because that was the only tanking style their preferred dropsuit ran at the time. Now you are telling those players that they need to grind AGAIN to get the other tanking style leveled up... You cannot make the grind into a game CCP. Stop trying.
Moreover, some players poured SP into specific skills to support their role (e.g. maxing out profile dampening if they are scouts). Now that their preferred dropsuit is available (say, Caldari sentinel) those points into profile dampening are right next to useless. They could be better spent on filling out the heavy weapon skill of choice or a nice sidearm for their new heavy suit. With the current SP refund decision you are telling those players to go grind more in order to play the way they have wanted to play since 1.0...
As long as we are on the topic of weaponry, many players were forced into certain weapons (e.g. AR) because alternative weapons that fulfilled their play style weren't available. Are you going to tell those players who invested millions of SP into AR's "Toughen up butter cup" because they didn't have the CR or RR available to them?
CCP, please do the right thing and refund the SP spent in the Weaponry and Dropsuit Upgrades trees as well. You are looking at a 1 out of 3 success rate; that's 33%, I don't know many schools where that is a passing grade.

Give it 2 hp/s and people will complain it will outdo the Assault, give it 3+ hp/s and people will say it's the best choice for slaying. 1 hp/s is better than nothing and if you stack reps or reactive plates, it makes it even better.

Well, although I am not necessarily pleased to see that it's only a dropsuit command respec, I guess I will survive. Most of my SP is all put into equipment and core upgrades as I like to run actual logi suits. The rest is primarily in multiple weapons, so I've kinda managed to avoid the nerf hammer there.
I guess I'll just switch into a different logi racial suit and then grab one more suit and i'll be good to go.

Sucks for all those people who wanted to be a Caldari Sentinel but had to go Amarr Sentinel and now have all those wasted points in armor plating and stuff. I don't understand how CCP can do a Dropsuit Command respec without a Dropsuit Upgrades respec. Dropsuit Upgrades applies to ALL DROPSUITS. A good amount of people who have been playing this game since close/open beta will be the ones to tell you to max out (or evenly distribute) your skill points in dropsuit upgrades before spending all your skill points into a dropsuit first. A great example would be a player having level 5 armor, shield, and core upgrades or at least at a reasonable level. Hell I did not have the thought to spec into my prototype suit until I had level 4 electronics and engineering along with level 5 core upgrades. I will say it is unfair to compare since I was a Minmatar Logistics user meaning I have spend skill points into both shield extenders and armor plating. But I do agree with you though, having skill points re-obtained from command and not from upgrades is crazy . Let's just be happy we are getting some kind of respec anyways. Respec will give us less than 2.5 million SP.
You'll only get a 2.5 mil respec..... Cos ur a scrub..... I has over 8 mil sp in dropsuit command + 5 mil unallocated....
When 1.8 drops ill have roughly 15 Mil SP to play with |
