I hate it for anyone who is switching tanking styles for 1.8... Dropsuit Command respec is half the equation.
Also, no changes to the Caldari Assault reload speed bonus: wut?

Yeah! Why didn't you buy skills that didn't have any immediate value to your build because of possible dropsuits that you couldn't have know the release date for!? Ya dummy?

Alright, this is most likely an enormous waste of time, seeing how CCP isn't famous for accepting our feedback (see: Amarr scout and Caldari assault bonuses in 1.8), but hell, if nothing else it might help them understand why we are upset at least...
First off all, the decision to refund the SP in the Dropsuit Command tree was a good one. Thank you for that CCP. I'm not going to to say you completely ****** up the refund issue, you just missed the target a bit.
You designed this game CCP so you know how closely tied dropsuit choice and tanking skill choices are. Some players have spent millions of SP in one tanking style because that was the only tanking style their preferred dropsuit ran at the time. Now you are telling those players that they need to grind AGAIN to get the other tanking style leveled up... You cannot make the grind into a game CCP. Stop trying.
Moreover, some players poured SP into specific skills to support their role (e.g. maxing out profile dampening if they are scouts). Now that their preferred dropsuit is available (say, Caldari sentinel) those points into profile dampening are right next to useless. They could be better spent on filling out the heavy weapon skill of choice or a nice sidearm for their new heavy suit. With the current SP refund decision you are telling those players to go grind more in order to play the way they have wanted to play since 1.0...
As long as we are on the topic of weaponry, many players were forced into certain weapons (e.g. AR) because alternative weapons that fulfilled their play style weren't available. Are you going to tell those players who invested millions of SP into AR's "Toughen up butter cup" because they didn't have the CR or RR available to them?
CCP, please do the right thing and refund the SP spent in the Weaponry and Dropsuit Upgrades trees as well. You are looking at a 1 out of 3 success rate; that's 33%, I don't know many schools where that is a passing grade.

Maken Tosch wrote:OK People, I know I ranted a bit, but that's only about the tunnel vision. I don't see a point in taking a dump on CCP over the respecs especially with the upcoming million clone event which will give everyone a minimum of 1 million free unallocated SP. That's enough to spec into a new weapon or finally finishing off those core skills while saving your current unallocated SP for something else.
Although honestly they should give us a partial respec for the weapons as well if it had not been for the upcoming million clone event. And with the 3 day omega boosters, that's a potential 2.5 million free SP right there.
The 1mil SP from the event is nice, but I can guarantee you I have more than 1mil SP in AR; which is a weapon I only specced into because their wasn't a Caldari alternative when I started playing.
"Oh, but now you can use ARs if you ever wanted to."
I don't though. I want to use the rail and sniper rifles, magsec SMG, and maybe swarm launchers if they get fixed. Someday I will expand into the Amarr weapons, but that isn't a while yet. So that tired, "The skill will always be there in case you need it" excuse doesn't apply.
Same logic can be applied to the SMG. I specced into it simply because there wasn't another automatic sidearm available when I started playing. Why should I be punished for that?

Strker Remorse wrote:Will the "Caldari Commando Bonus: +2% damage to light hybrid GÇô railgun weapons." apply to Sniper Rifles as well? Or like all the players in the game do the CCP Devs hate snipers too?
Rail and sniper rifles are both railgun light weapons so... yes. At level V Caldari Commando it will be as though you have two free PRO damage mods fitted.

Alabaster Shinho wrote:Isn't the Amarr Sentinel both shield and armor tanked? Shield tanking should have been just as viable as armor if you planning on eventually going Caldari.
And if you purely armor tanked? I wouldn't fit a shield extender to an Amarr dropsuit if my life depended on it. It's blasphemy.
