lot of ppl whining respec respec need to stfu up 1.8 is looking awesome with introduction of new weapons, suits and equipment and as far as i can tell (haven't done the math) balanced a lot of things (rail/combat rifle vs assualt rifle) great job ccp though i would love to see a bounty mode to where you could take on bountys placed on players and be placed in matches with them and upon killing them payment is recieved from corp that issued said bounty (just an idea for 1.9 if we go that far) |

It makes sense that the primary resist is aligned to the race's primary enemy's damage type. But the secondary resist for each suit appears to be aligned to one of the suit's racial allies... I was bewildered by this as well for a while. Then I thought about the damage profiles of the resists, and it made much more sense. Gallente, for example, get resist bonuses to hybrid - rail and projectile. Both railguns and projectiles do bonus damage to armor, so CCP is making Gallente's armor resistances higher, increasing their armor ehp, by decreasing the effect of armor shredding weapons against their heavy suits. Same goes for Caldari (blaster and laser), Minmatar (laser and blaster) and Amarr (projectile and railgun) gaining resistances to their shield or armor ehp, respectively.
Ahhh, that makes more sense then. You're dead right - the bonus isn't about the damage they expect to face from racial enemies, rather it favours the race's preferred tanking style. Thanks for clarifying

Let's see how many consecutive times I can post this without getting a response...
CCP, your DEV Blog tells us the following:
CCP Remnant in DEV Blog wrote: WeGÇÖve also taken this opportunity to completely revamp and rebalance all of our infantry dropsuits.
But a while ago this message got posted on the forums:
CCP Logibro wrote:I would like to add that at this stage, we have not rebalanced the slots and PG/CPU for the medium frames yet, and it doesn't look like we'll be able to get it into 1.8. Expect those changes to come at a later date.
Nothing is mentioned about this in the DEV Blog and the first quote seems like you guys are finished with revamping and 'rebalancing'... All I can say is that I'm (and other players) confused about this.
Are the medium suits getting changed later on?
Should we hold off skilling into medium suits or are we getting another Dropsuit Command after those changes?
I would be greatly disappointed if players get disappointed with possible changes because of your bad communication. |

CCP really. You guys are going to destroy this game the way you are messing with stuff. First the tanks then the rail rifles and combat rifles. Now you bring Suits into the game without giving us a full respec. I have been discussing this with alot of people and they are very unhappy the way you are running the show here. Frame rate and texture mapping should be your first and foremost goal. MAKE THINGS THE WAY THEY LOOK. I understand this is a free game but come on. We have made you the money now fix the game. I am happy with the new heavies coming out and am really anticipating the new Caldari. Mann cant wait for that. CCP STOP HALF measuring stuff and get the job done. |

We were told that medium suits would be rebalanced later (including changes to slots and fitting stats) as for some reason CCP couldn't get around to doing so in time for their major dropsuit update... However the Devblog makes it seem as this is not the case, and we SHOULDN'T expect any major changes to the existing dropsuits, as you have already "revamped and rebalanced" all of them.
Once again, a case of bad communication from CCP, and I know it's become a running joke, but still...

I don't understand how CCP can do a Dropsuit Command respec without a Dropsuit Upgrades respec. Actually, I have to echo this concern. Since Amarr sentinel (but really, all heavy suits until 1.8) had to be Amarr, it really doesn't sit right that the tanking skills aren't being refunded. Now, more than ever, it's possible to see the full spectrum of what is offered in game. Now, it's (and will be very soon with 1.8) possible to pick "just" Caldari, with all that Caldari has to offer--from scout, to mediums, to heavy to weapons and beyond. So, why not let us have a skill point reallocation so we can invest our SP where it'd mean the most to us? Why not offer a respec so we can specialize into what we would have done if the game had launched with these options on Day 1? These new suits and general changes to better reflect racial specializations are awesome, CCP. But you guys have to make this right.
Leave all negative comments about tanks in the bin marked " TRASH " and we'll get to it as soon as possible . Thank You

Honestly? I mean, I've waited a LONG time for a Minmatar heavy (in fact, I think I was the one who complained so much about them that they finally decided to make it happen), but,,,
I just read through the patch notes and there is NOTHING about fixing the overheating issue on some consoles. I mean come on! I would love to be able to play the update I've waited SO long for!

Well I took some time to think about these changes and I think I'm OK with it. The apparatus on the Minmatar Heavys legs looks like an animators nightmare, but it's only the concept art. I'm sure it'll change for the better, I hope. Love the helmet and chest harness though.

Gallente scout OP. 3hp/sec armor regen - why he would have that? Nevermind he has 4 lowpowered slots and all usefull scout modules fit there: profile dampening, kinetic catalyzation, scan range amp, pg/cpu, all those convinient armor plates for the sake of hp. What do we have on high powered slot side? Damage mods will go to a trash can, sheild regenerators already there...
Sheild extenders or scan precision enhancers?
Give something for caldari to fit into highpowered slots. |

What do the stats of the Basic suits look like? They're stepping stones, but I believe they're still essential to know.

All players current fittings should be reset when 1.8 launches.
Yea, a lot of people are going to cry about this, but it definitely needs to be done So what if it takes you 10 minutes of your time to redo all of your fittings. What it does, is it will remove a bug that isn't very well known. There was a brief time in dust514 that if you replaced your dmg mod with another dmg mod, it would stack the damage. So instead of getting a 10% bonus to dmg per module, they got 20%. Now imagine having 3 of these 20% dmg mods on a suit.
The fix was deployed that prevented others from doing this, but the player bases suit fittings were never reset, so they are still in circulation in pubs and pc. All these players need to do is reconfigure the suit to what their current play style is, and leave the dmg mods untouched, and the bonus remains.

Funny how everyone thinks 3HP/s makes the gal scout invulnerable...but the cal scout with 50hp/s is fine.
Just to note it would take the gal scout roughly a minute to regen his (maxed) base armor hp. Where as the Cal scout needs 6.25 seconds or 7.25 seconds to regen his (maxed) base shield hp.
The 3 hp/s helps a little bit but that's nothing that keeps you very long in battle, you cant hop into cover to come back with full (primary) health in under 10 seconds.
And honestly there is really nothing OP with 3 hp/s...built in. To be halfway decent in competitive matches you will need at least one repper. It will help cheap pub suits but that's it. And the cal scout will be a lot more annoying with its capability to come back fast with nearly complete health. |

Noob question, will the revamped heavy sentinels be able to sport ligth weapons? In the stats i can clearly read 1 Heavy weapon slot and 0 Light weapon slot. Or am i just misinterpreting stuff? Because a sentinel with a Kal RR or Duvolle really grinds my gears.

Yes they will be able to put Light weapons in the Heavy Weapon Slot just like now.
In the Heavy Weapon Slot fits: a Heavy Weapon or a Light Weapon or a sidearm In the Light Weapon Slots fits: a Light Weapon or a Sidearm In the Sidearm Slot fits: only a sidearm |
