It's looks so much easier to headshot a Caldari Heavy frame suit from the back than the other ones.
Only a refund of Dropsuit command seems silly, especially if you make the bonuses to equipment for logistics tied to one race (which on it's own is also disappointment as you could have read in the feedback thread from all the logi-users) and kind of useless for other suits, I won't be bothered by using some of that stuff.
Player feedback? LOL, you guys probably won't even post or read this thread ever again. |

LOL! I've only been commited to playing Dust 514 since it's May release, but I've visited this Fourm Community long enough to know not to try arguing or disecting people's desires for a LUXURY-LEVEL RESPEC every time new combat aparatus is introduced in New Eden. CCP mercilessly (deliciously devilshly) created this game to be "Persistent", not "Cyclic" or "Restartable" like other games could arguably be thought of. I stopped wishing for a "do-over" for my mistakes or oversights long ago. Have no illusions, Celesta, whatever small crumb you seek to make you advance in your career, you're gonna have to CRAWL THROUGH THE "DUST" to get it. I stopped fantasizing about being able to spend the last two months using my SP to unlock 'the Advanced impulse recoiler', if only the devs hadn't waited until NOW to introduce the 'new Gallente recoiler Gun', and let me waste all that SP on other stuff. Celesta, wake the hell up!--this is not Call of Duty--this game is a LITTLE about slugging matches, but MOSTLY about creating your little clone sprout and steering her through a long CAREER. Your clone makes progress only by investment-with-risk. "Risk" means some of your neural training ends up a bad investment, where you can't give the education back (just have to consider it "also-skilled-in" on your combat resume). ....a Respec for the Dropsuit Command category, is CCP throwing me more mercy than I've learned to ever expect in this game. And LOL, I've kinda learned to LIKE the abuse. I threw my leg over this horse because it threatened to be a challenge, and I kinda love the bucking.
Uprising 1.8 is EPOCRAPHAL... it's the horse trying its newest powerful, rear-kicking BUCK. It is NOT thorwing me off.
Finally a Kasbar market is opening up for me to spend HOURS socializing and swapping my HEAPS of salvage for useful gear that some other gal doesn't even have the neural SP to operate.
Finally the performance of a "Breach" weapon more closely aligns with what 'breach' means: short overwhelming violence aimed at an open door to wither only the defenders nearest the other side of the doorway, and give buddies a chance to get through the door with longer-reach weaponry.
Finally Add-on damage modifiers that WERE being used to rapidly execute opponents with minimal effort, is being restrained enough to try to give a player time to ENJOY SOME benefit from this thing called a "Dropsuit" during a 1-v-1 gunfight.
Just by the artwork of the suits in the dev blog, I can see a MAMMOTH amount of design work and detailing. The Caldari are my enemy, but OH God, their new light suit looks so SEXY, I almost don't want to shoot a guy who's wearing one. The Gallente heavy's headgear is like some beautiful exotic sea manatee, and the Minmatar's facial detailing has finally reached nightmare-villiainous appearance: I am EAGER to have any one of these splendid looking suits march right up to me on my HD monitor and smoke me.
There is an immense amount of labor that's been done here since 1.7. I'm a lover of artwork, and there's a lot of art here to applaud. But I got hooked on Dust because it's boldly (cursingly) CHALLENGING. I say the "Shite" word out loud more when I play this game than any other in my collection. With 1.8, I know I'll have to happily go out and buy more soap for my mouth. Yaaah! The challenge is back! |

Request for clarification on some items in the Dev Blog:
1) The role bonus for Assault is a 5% reduction in CPU / PG cost on light & sidearm weapons and the Logi gets 5% reduction in CPU / PG cost. Is this a flat bonus or per level (similar to the GalLogi bonus of 25% resource cost on equipment at Lvl V)?
2) Anyone know why the CalLogi has such a low CPU pool? Caldari suits are high CPU consumers and it has the lowest CPU of all Logi suits...very confusing.
3) The Sentinel suits indicate they have 1 heavy weapon slot and 0 light weapon slots...is that an indicator that they can only mount a heavy weapon now and NOT a light weapon in that slot?
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on my questions.

I would say they'll work the same as how the GalLogi bonus works at this moment.

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on my questions. To answer question three, the heavy weapons slot can support heavy, light, and sidearm weapons. A light weapons slot can support light, and sidearm weapons.

I'm still concerned about the high PG and CPU stats on the Sentinels. It looks like I'll barely even need my fitting skills at level 2 to max out all my weapons and modules. My personal opinion is that you should be able to max out all your skills and still not have every slot maxed out, i.e.: every fitting should involve some trade-off, even if it's choosing between advanced grenades and proto sidearm or proto grenades and advanced sidearm.
The other suits also look high on fittings, but I haven't played those roles at a high level so I'm not familiar with the fitting needs.
If these stats are intended to be max PG and CPU with all skills, I think we're in good shape. But I don't get the sense that's the case.

I'm an Amarr Medic and I have to say, gonna miss the old +1 Armor Repair Rate and +5% Armor Repair Module Bonus... I also invested into Armor Repair Modules to boost this even further to give me a very purty +7 Armor per Second. Also, I carry The KN-20 Ninite Injector, Core Focused Repair Tool, and an ADV Nanohive (can't remember which type). But, with the AM Logistics being geared toward Drop Uplink operation, I gotta figure out what to take out and what to keep in my fittings (I suppose another fitting would solve my predicament, but, you know... Pootispenserhere).
On the other hand, I have been looking foreward to the AM Scout for months! Can't wait 'till the 25th! |

I love the new weapons, we almost have the full tree now
I look forward to se how it all will do on the battlefield.
All in all it all looks awsome NICE JOB CCP.
I do however have a few negative things to say / guestions to ask.
Why only a dropsuit skill respec ?
Why would i want to respec my dropsuit skills if i cant respec my weapon or tanking skills ? (that would just be stupid)
WE NEED A FULL RESPEC...

With 1.8, I know I'll have to happily go out and buy more soap for my mouth. Yaaah! The challenge is back! Yeah, it makes sense not to get SP's for your mistakes, but for 6 months, there were only two choices for Rifles. I specced Assault Rifles because I didn't want to wait for the Caldari Variants to be competitive. Also, there was a time when Armor Plating was needed on Caldari Logistics just to stay alive. Those aren't MY mistakes, but CCP's, as they are the ones that made the design choices. And they are punishing me, and others like me, for it. One last thing, I put a few points in Mini Light suits. I'm getting those back, of course, but there was a time where I was worried. This game is persistant, yes, but there are changes that affect all three trees, not just the one. So... while you are happy with this, and it is a good thing, don't get me wrong, the vast majority are not. But I can deal with it.

I upgraded the core skill shields and armor, do it on all characters, but for most they are talking about skilling into armor plates skill, and needing shields skill, CCP SEVERELY dropped the ball here, CCP needed to give back the dropsuit upgrades tree as well, hands down, no questions asked or debated, it needs to be refunded, I have a logibro that now does not need proto rep tool, nor will he be using the proto scanner...
Both of which are HUGE SP dumps that could go into suit scan radius, precision and dampening.... No freaking way am I going to change to a minmaturd suit so I can follow a heavy around to try to get WP and die more.
All of my alts are VERY role specific and EVERY SP is placed with very thought out consideration, and CCP dropped a big bag of cannon fodder right on 2 of my alts. I have 3 other to play, but my logibro is jacked up to the point of unplayable, and he is needed sometimes more than any other character, and was my most played alt to date.
I can live with the scout changes, can live with heavy/commando changes, can live with the weapons I have skilled into, even though the old AR is a marshmallow shooting short range weapon, but what is burning me is the upgrades tree.
W/E its CCP, nothing shocks me about them anymore. They shot their own foot here. If they do not make changes to the NPE and do not get SP rewarding PVE in the game soon, it will not retain new players. All of my friends and family ( not including my kids ) have left and will not come back ever.
I can appreciate CCP is working hard, and I am sure they are working harder than we know, but they are just now getting to all suits released.... Just now getting AR variants.... NO new maps, old ones are OLD.... NO new heavy weapons.... NO PVE..... It is 2014, with PS4, XB1 out and no plans of moving that we know of.
I do like the game for all intents and purposes, like "The Road Map" for the future, but by 2016 if this game has not moved to the PS4 or to the PC... It will not exist.... Even F2P |

2. Do you guys could please inform when those new toys will be released?

You obviously don't follow the #dust514 on twitter. The Japanese are crazy for Dust.

lot of ppl whining respec respec need to stfu up 1.8 is looking awesome with introduction of new weapons, suits and equipment and as far as i can tell (haven't done the math) balanced a lot of things (rail/combat rifle vs assualt rifle) great job ccp though i would love to see a bounty mode to where you could take on bountys placed on players and be placed in matches with them and upon killing them payment is recieved from corp that issued said bounty (just an idea for 1.9 if we go that far) |
