If I read this right, this means that the passive armor repair for the logi suits (1hp/level) is no longer, correct?
Also... when you look at a role bonus like:
Assault Role Bonus: 5% reduction to PG/CPU cost of light/sidearm weapons
In some cases "per level" is specified, but not in others. So... is the above bonus flat, or per-level?
Changes look good...
BUT....
Are there any gameplay or objective changes coming as part of 1.8? New maps, more infantry-friendly setups, etc?

Please reconsider the dropsuit core upgrades and weaponry SP refund CCP.
Think about the Commando dropsuit-¦s dependence on weapon selection.
Think about all armor tanker dropsuits that actually wanted to have shields.
Think about the vehicle refund in 1.7.
Drop it like its hat.

It's good to have options. Train all the things. Not everyone has 40million SP. Most people have been forced to focus on a single role. Which means the command respec means NOTHING to these people. Basically a HTFU mantra. Especially since day one, they have been told to focus on a single role to get competitive and join in on PC games.
Agree
eg. Oh look - all minmatar have great stamina regen now. For you to play the Min Role before you had to invest here to make it possible. Its now redundant unless you want to be a pogo stick.
I'm sure there are other instances.
To me this was always the basis of getting a respec at racial parity. Let people remake those defining choices now the landscape has changed. Yes we can live with it (as we are with all of the other half measures) but we really shouldnt have to.

That said, I do believe the skill tree should be re-worked to encourage cross-training, instead of heavily promoting min-maxing (which it currently does). |

Look again. They bumped the amarr scout's stamina from 225 to 275. Their bonus now means that they can pretty much sprint for the full duration of an ADV cloak. |

I did not play heavy suit until now but, are the stats for the basic heavy suits missing from the blog post or am I just overlooking them? Basic heavy suits have the same base stats as the Sentinel, but no role or skill bonus.
Logibro, what is the reason behind not giving the SP refund for weaponry skills? If someone wants to get out of heavy suits after seeing the changes, what use is an HMG or Forge gun skill if you can't fit it on a medium or light suit?

I don't understand how CCP can do a Dropsuit Command respec without a Dropsuit Upgrades respec.
Dropsuit Upgrades applies to ALL DROPSUITS. A good amount of people who have been playing this game since close/open beta will be the ones to tell you to max out (or evenly distribute) your skill points in dropsuit upgrades before spending all your skill points into a dropsuit first. A great example would be a player having level 5 armor, shield, and core upgrades or at least at a reasonable level. Hell I did not have the thought to spec into my prototype suit until I had level 4 electronics and engineering along with level 5 core upgrades. I will say it is unfair to compare since I was a Minmatar Logistics user meaning I have spend skill points into both shield extenders and armor plating.
But I do agree with you though, having skill points re-obtained from command and not from upgrades is crazy . Let's just be happy we are getting some kind of respec anyways.

At Level 5 they have 50 regen and 340+ stamina while also having 4 low slots.
2 Kin Cat with a combo of Damp / Range / Hack / Rep etc
It looks to be pretty good but I would still be pissed as its the most boring bonus and may not compare to the Minnie buffs or the uber Gallente Prime scout

CCP Logibro wrote:New in Uprising 1.8 are five new types of Dropsuit Frames: The Minmatar, Gallente and Caldari Heavy Frames alongside the new Caldari and Amarr Light Frames. You can read all the details about these new frames and their variants in this new dev blog from CCP Remnant.
SEROUSLY CCP ???????? This is terribly ****. Damn, guys i don't stop defending you and you...just ****** up everything.
First : Amarr bonus still STUPID. Stamina amount bonus is way too low, the frame is too slow to be able to use this Stamina, and improving Speed means losing cardiac regulator (The bonus is way too low, a regulator is still a "must-have" since the bonus is lower than a Militia.). So you ask us to waste AT LEAST two low slots.....
Second : Skill point refunded ONLY in dropsuit Command ? Oh wait SERIOUSLY ???? This is STUPID How the **** are we supposed to change roles now ? I was going to go for Commandos while i was Logistics. Do you ever realize how far this is totally stupidity and how this makes us IMPOSSIBLE to change Roles ?
So it means a definitive Loss of : 6 Million SP in equipements. (I knew i shouldn't use equipemetns and play Slayer Logi...it would had make me save 6 million SP...Next time i play like a jerk since CCP penalize Logi and awards slayer Logi) 2 Millions in secondary Weapon. (Scrambler Pistol.) 500.000SP in modules totally USELESS on Commandos suits. (Profile) 1 Million into Vehicules and Turrets (Which i'm not gonna use anymore (Farewell Saga-2.) 1 Million into shield modules which is useless on Amarr Commando Suit. 4/5Million Sp into weapon i'm not going to use on my Amarr Commando because they don't have bonus with it (mass driver / Plasma cannon / Swarm launcher ).
So in the end you Refund us...less than 2 million SP ??? And One more with the event ? It's not even enough to get my Commando.
Farewell CCP, like lot of us. |

That's the basis of the Dropsuit Upgrades respec question here. It's not whether +25% base armor and shields are better. Of course they are. They affect every suit. But the skills to get complex armor plates and shield extenders, complex armor repairers and shield regulators provide absolutely no bonus if you don't fit those mods. So, spending sp into building a proto Amarr heavy (with complex tanking gear) is wasted when someone wanted to build a complex Caldari heavy all along.

Yes, I do have 35 million which let's me have high skills in many different fields. 5 mil of that is in vehicles. However, it only takes about 12 million to be very focused on one specialty and you can get 1 to 2.5 million this weekend.
What skills from the Dropsuit Upgrades tree would you want to trade in?

I don't know what rock you have been living under, but the game is all about specialization. People have been proselytizing specialization forever now. The idea of the game is to pick one thing that you really like or are good at and invest all your sp into doing that well. Once you have mastered that, move on to the next thing that you really like or are good at. Specialization is of Dust as much as team playing is.
Making skill trees more "cross trainable" is totally contrary to the core value of specialization and thankfully will never happen.

Are the Cal and Gal assault bonuses really bad?
Caldari Assaults get a reload bonus while Gallente get a bonus in reduction of hip-fire/kick dispersion.
Don't use RRs often but considering that they're long-range weapons and meant to keep you away, wouldn't a faster reload be better? The closer the enemy is to you, the closer they get to their optimal range and the worse your chances get at killing them.
And as for the AR, while it has a small hip-fire/kick dispersion compared to the RR, doesn't the kick still hurt your aim if you spray? I use it and when I spray at an enemy for sometime, it gets worse...The AR is the rifle that is best for spraying, especially on thick-shelled enemies. With this it would be easier to just rip into someone in CQC.
