Yeah MD works great, reason I was using a Shotty was I was in a city map where a MD would possibly kill my self.

Yeah I've done that a couple times 
I don't have any points in shotguns, though, and the MLT shotgun doesn't always fit on the suit with the rest of my gear.

Minmatar Commando here. Just standard for now, I'm finishing off my cores but words can't do justice to the awesomesauce that is running with MD and CR with that mobility and stamina regen.

I have modified my gal commando fit a bit since i want to use a breach AR instead of GEK:
Commando G/1-Series
1x ENH armor plate
1x MLT armor repairer (3 hp/s > 1 hp/s, i havent speced into reppers yet, so the MLT will do fine until then.)
1x ENH Dmg mod
K5 Specialist Shotgun
GB-9 Breach Assault Rifle
Compact Nanohive
I think this fitting is a bit more well rounded.

The shotgun armed ones are tough, they deal heavy alpha a simply strafe around you.
The more tame scouts tend to be of little consequence though.

Gal commando is quite fun, but its hard for me to be really effective with it yet... I did gank some heavy with my ADV suit, and scouts are DEAD if they are stupid enough to come close to me (and I dont screw up).
How many of you plate tank it, and how many of you speed tank it?
Edit: Wow, breach shotty with the reload bonus and some points in shotty reload skills make it faster than the breach RoF (60 RPM). Does this mean you can shoot, reload, shoot, reload, shoot?! I have to test this. xD

I don't know why I didn't start a Commando alt sooner. It is a LOT of fun! Love the Laz0r/ScR combo even if it is a bit weak vs. armor. Even unexpectedly topped the scoreboard yesterday after finding a nice spot to nest and pick off people running towards the Objective in Domination. |

Put the rep tool on you minnando, I have done it with militia, and it works pretty good. Eventually I will get at least ADV rep tools since it takes to long to rep someone with militia.

On second thought, with these Sp events, I might actually get it pretty soon, so I guess you could keep me up if you want.
Just want to point out that it'll be secondary to the scout suit, so while I'll run it fairly regularly, it'll be less often than the scout.

I have been playing quite some galmando this weekend. Its a mediocre suit, definately not one of the worst in the game, neither one of the best.
I think this is due to the AR not being on the same level as RR, CR and ScR. It still kills stuff, but a STD CR would do better than my ADV Breach AR.
Shotgun is very situational, I think its not viable to use it as a main weapon on commandos. Too hard to close the distance when you are in a heavy frame. Given the right situation, it can be of great help.
For example when you know someone is behind cover, there is a great opportunity to charge in and gank. Or when someone gets too close.
Does anyone else feel that the 10% damage buff at commando 5 is a little bit lacking? Perhaps a 15% dmg bonus at level 5 would be in order?
I mean, we do in fact trade HP and mobility for this bonus... |

I was thnking the same. Heavies are tanks. Commandos are damage dealers. Assaults are the most versatile soldiers (should be predominant), logis and scouts are (or are suppose to be) supportive units.

Currently i'm 95% Mincommando, with FREEDOM MD, Cbr7swarms, Sixxy Kins ACR, and the plethora of support weapons i use as well(shotty MD being my main Anti-scout, plonk away until i hear a dodgeball, then make him regret it.
The other 5% is split between 4% minscout, .7% galscout, and .3% Minlogi/neo suits
