Wait we can demand to have our name font changed? I demand to have both this character and my alt's name italicized and bolded! Also, I've found that a rail rifle/assault scrambler works best for me, melt the shields, switch, melt the armor, then rinse and repeat. As for an av setup the lack of Av grenades prevent me from doing notable amount of damage quickly.

Sorry, only Art will get his name changed because he had the courage to demand it before knowing how I'd react.
Can't change everyone's name styling to something different;I know the commandos are the clowns of Dust 514 but we don't need to make this any more of a circus house.

Exactly, you choose your weapon combo based on range. At least, that is what I found works best. That is why I like my Laser Rifle / Assault Scrambler Rifle combo. My laser rifle will melt everyone at a fairly long range, and once they start getting a little close I have my assault scrambler rifle that excels in that range.
I terms of composition I have found in picking up the Commando is as Aero said to basically compose a suit based on the range you wish to engage at, this being something I pick up after many failed attempts to commando.
For the most part I don't even consider the armour piercing or shield piercing value of the weapons, only which will benefit me in a given scenario and which will give me greater tactical flexibility.
In my case the ELM-9 Laser and RS-90 Combat Rifle couple together with devastating effect. As you can imagine, being Amarrian to the core, I prefer to engage at long range, and the laser definitely is an effective marksman weapon. Couple that with a rapid firing Combat rifle accurate out to 50m, I can fully cover and control the optimal range of both guns out to about 85m.
I also like the CRD for my CQC weapon as well depending on whether I want to have a larger magazine for suppression or even if I simply see a large disposition of shield based dropsuits.

I used to run one weapon that overheats and one that doesn't, but these days I run both amarr guns. the rr/ar and rr/cr are both really good combos. also you can just use a bpo ar for a sidearm, that's nice. |

Its a good cheap combo very effective for earning ISK..... however I still feel like the Basic Laser and SCR fall short without the module slots for damage mods, especially at STD suit level.

Standard laser not so much, it has to be the most effective standard grade weapon. All it lacks from the upper tiers is how long you can hold the beam (and consequentially how much omega damage you can get out of it).

Agreed. Heck, check out this post of mine (and if you like it give it a bump  ). I don't even really like the Commando's new racial bonus of essentially a free complex damage mod. The Commando is a suppression fighter, that's what makes sense with two weapons and rapid reloading, so give us other stats to help us fill that role. We don't need extra damage. It's nice, but we don't need it.

Another fair call I however do simply because I am so used to fitting out Amarrian ships for massive DPS for blasting I Hubs.
In terms of Dust side I am not inaccurate by any means, like all Amarrians I favour the DMR style of the ScR, I however like fire power.....always have and always will....which is why I like Sentinel as well.
If LMG were released I'd be heavy suit in no time flat.

I'm looking all over the place and can't find a single screenshot of the 'Neo' Commando ak.0, the most badass looking suit in the entire game. Someone needs to get a good screenshot of it.
