I know I am just a lil scout and know not the ways of the CommandbroGǪ butGǪ. Anyone try the LR with MDGǪ seems like it would be an excellent combo as shields drop switch to MD for the armour crunch???

This is everyone's initial thoughts on the commando, to use a shield oriented weapon and then switch to an armor oriented weapon. Truth of the matter is TTK is just too low to really get any use out of that, you'd spend more time switching weapons than you would just killing the enemy with the weapon already in hand. Excellent answer. So then are Commando's choosing weapons based on range synergy? I know that as a predominantly sidearm based scout this is how I often approach weapon selection.

(I've been running scout since Open Beta, and I promise you stamina is awesome for more than just running for a long time) I had pushed for all scouts to have an armour rep of at least 1 to deal with operating in deep territory. 2 would have been really good, and i am leaning in the direction that the Amarr should get that, it should put them on more of an equal footing. Essentially leaving the Gal at 3 representing the +1 that CCP seems to feel the Gal should have (for what reason i don't know, but suspect that the Amarr did not get it because of the dual tank theory they lean towards)

Because I remember getting assaulted by a **** ton of scouts with nova knives and being scared out of my mind because I was the only one really defending the letter. Last night I grinded 400k SP so played a lot of matches Manus was the first one, when we were on the same team I think it was the Gal facility. And don't feel bad, Commando's are easier to spot than scouts Less Commando's out there so you stand out and I have a strange propensity for noticing people.
Nice sp grind I only managed just under 200k

Scout report on commandos Last night ran into a a group of Heavies, mix of Commando and Sentinels. The match was a little lopsidedGǪ as I only had one other team member (who I only saw once, not that they were doing nothing we both hit over 800wp)
But what was interesting was the sight of the Sentinel being Guardian Repped by a Commando. would have been interesting to see how effective it was, but I was running alpha damage so it was not something i could really analyze for effectiveness. It was kind of a cool sight, and I can see some potential there. If the Sentinel at the end of the leash goes down, you still have a solid fighting force in the Commando. Also the ability to switch between reaping and death dealing at a situational level is pretty flexible.

I've tried it before, and in my experience a Commando using a rep tool is simply wasting it's DPS potential. Commandos and Sentinels do work good together, but it would be better if say the the Commando ran the Wirykomi Nanite Injector, so as both of them can focus on DPS and when the Sentinel goes down he can be popped right back up with near full armor. The needle makes sense (and that State 100% one would be awesome for that as well ) Depending on the Commando though the rep could still be useful. Say high range DPS on Mando w/ rep, while the Sent covers the CQC with the HMG, the two could cover most engagements, add in AV for versatility.

@ Torq I have all the authority over Commando's because I am your worst nightmare when I'm not commanding. Also as one of the other scouts pointed outGǪ they tell you where team mates are dying. Useful info, tells you if a spawn camp is happening, or where the engagements are, all without having to have a huge passive radar range.

Domination Manus Peak with the Caldari Landing Pad medium socket. True Adamance was there for a bit but got DC'd. They were some close fights, if you hadn't of pulled out of SG range I would not have had to sidearm you Mind you with that 5m it's hard to stay in SG range lol

This is simply because I'm using those recruit HK4Ms and assume you guys have better shotguns and are better with them, so wanted to try and turn the tables to my favor when my first few shotgun shots missed. Unfortunately you switch to your SMG really fast. Ahhh, I see This is a good plan, I like it. With me it probably proved less effective because I only recently got back into the SG. After the respec I went full sidearm, so they are actually my strength. Months on KN/Pistol got my quick switch up pretty quick as well.

On a similar note the only reason I've been running scout lately on Aero is for a change of pace and because those 200 HK4Ms were mocking me I have 100 left, and after that you probably won't be seeing Skinny Aero for some time. Actually this conversation has brought to mind some of the Sidearm Scout practices that would benefit Commandos as well. The most obvious aspect is that you are gaining 6% reduction for Weapon Skill (light in the Commando's case) But also strategically fitting primary secondary is very important. When you quick flip from equipment it always does so to your primary weapon (in the case of the scout this is what is in your light slot.) This is important in choosing which weapon you want in that slot. If you are using a dual wield of the same weapon this does not matter as much as when you have weapons of different range categories, or purposes. A quick flip to a MD is not ideal in CQC when the other option is CR. Most times this will mean that you want your CQC or close range weapon close at hand, long range weapons you have more time to switch switch out.

Worth noting: Flux will detonate the RE rather than neutralize it. (If a "teamate" is in need of a killing in a non FF scenarioGǪ and an enemy RE is laying aroundGǪ. )

Wondering about the reason they chose to work the event this way. You Commandos will still get the bonuses for killing other heavies, but no bonuses for killing others through your chosen suit. Little lopsided in my opinion. So I get all the bonuses of hunting down Sents and Commandos the same as you guys and you get no extra bonuses for being a targetGǪ A bonus for getting kills in the Commando suit should be doneGǪ Perhaps not as high as the Sent bonus (you do get a wider array of weapons as a Mando) But dammit you need something extra

Scanners will be very changed, cool down time, db, alleged elimination of rotation. Uplinks: Spawn time, spawn number(i believe) less HP Nanohives: less HP (scouts now have more than a Hive) Less replenishment.

So those Damage Bonuses Commandos are getting just got better. (in a way) With Damage Mod/Prof changes the Commando has really taken a spotlight on damage delivery. Interesting

With all those skills it fits right on the dot, 276/276 CPU and 51/51 PG. With other core skills maxed, this is a 902.6 EHP invisible monster! And really cheap compared to the 55k advanced commandos I'm running now.
NOTE: The price on shared link shows a higher price, but it has yet to update the new commando suit prices, plus I subbed the 'Templar' Laser Rifle for the normal ISK Laser Rifle because it isn't available to select on the tool, so I adjusted according to that as well. You may want to get that profile down lower I know most people have a pretty limited radar, and you will not get below scout ability to see you, but as it stands you will show on the majority of radar right now What's the best Damp you could fit on this beast? (my though would be replace the plate)

With the free suits that we got for the event I decided to Commando tourist 5 Min suits I'll lose those quick No Still have them all and did a fair bit of killing CR SG Proxies I did die once but got revived by an actually logi He cleared the red that took me out, it was 5 on me, took out 4 but just did not have enough to take the last one down. Logi did it then revived me, random niceness Kind of fun, so not used to having so many HP. Usually have >200 to 250

Anyone who wants to help brainstorm is more than welcome! And yes I was considering that as well, basically give the commandos vehicle-piercing rounds. If this were the case I still think you'd need to shift the bonus from damage based to ammo capacity based. And also as far as Legion is concerned you could make a new variant of rifle that works like that, higher efficiency against vehicles in exchange for not as great anti-infantry purposes. Then put those variants in the Commando skill tree and help give them a more defined and unique role that differentiates itself from the new two-light-weapon Assault class. One of the things that would help with AV and Commando as Suppression mode is positioning. This is one of the areas that the Sentinel falls short on as it faces challenges in getting into some great positions (3 inch ledges and all) Perhaps Legion Commandos should have a pronounced difference in maneuverability through jumping/vaulting. And a noticeable speed over the Sentinel but not as fast as Assaults. (Unless they take the light frame route for Commando which would not surprise me given the two light weapons for Assaults in Legion)

Yes, I am envisioning a jump based more on the Assault height.
I agree the heavy base with massive ammo pool is preferable to going light frame for suppression role. I do like the idea of entrenching an area and just denying advancement of the enemy whether they be vehicle or infantry. (Damn, deployable shields could be a Commandos best friend)

Commandos Someone needs your help. You need to find the Commando and help him. I found him in a Dom match on Fractured RoadGǪ I don't remember the name but he was Running around in a Cal Commando suit using a Plasma Canon and a Scrambler Pistol. You need to find this person and help them out.

Amarr naturally has the highest base stamina pool....... how does its stamina regen compare to the other scouts... or how would it compare sans its current bonus? Well, the disparity in the Min regen still exists (really think 45 would have sufficed) Amarr will still have a pool of 50-75 point higher than anyone else, but I would say a base increase in Regen would be in order. Currently (without Bonus) its 40 (a 6.8 sec recharge) the slowest recharge to full rate. Cal/Gal sitting at 6.6 recharge to full (albeit with a much smaller pool) and Min sitting at 3.75 sec recharge to full. Switch the Min and Amarr rates 5.6 for Min and Amarr would be 4.5ishGǪ possible solution.
