Win rates are practically an impossibility, unless you are in a dedicated high level corp. I foresee about 20% of people actually earning any rewards from this.
Once you cut off the outlying 10% best and 10% worst players, the average win/loss ratio is about 3:10? Plus you have to consider that the people with already high W/L ratios, will usually be the ones playing most, they will further consume more of the wins, leaving less to the common folk.
At least I got 5% extra SP from the "2x sp event", this one won't give me anything, except being pubstomped more. |

Where are you getting these numbers? It isn't that hard to win 48% of your battles. That is less than half, a failing % by any consideration. Heck, if you are really worried about winning why not join a large corps pub channel and get some help from some heavy hitters. 30 games isn't really that many, I'm sure you easily do that every week.
+1 to you Mintchip and Wang, while I don't need any of these items it still seems like fun. These events a great entertainment.

This dev blog also confirms that 1.4 will drop in the next two weeks.
In the FAQ section:
Quote:Win/loss results from all Instant Battles and Faction Warfare battles will be counted for the purpose of the event. Please be aware that after the Uprising 1.4 patch, the names within the Battle Finder will be changed. Instant Battles will be changed to Public Contracts and Faction Warfare battles will be renamed to Faction Contracts.
So 1.4 is going to drop while this event is taking place, nice. I expect it to be next Tuesday, since all patches drop on Tuesday. |

1)On average, players who play more are more skilled. This is not only true for playerskill, but also for character skill.
2)On average those who are more skilled will win more.
3)Assuming evenly balanced teams, one win will be generated per loss on a character by character basis. However, that is unlikely to be the case. People are more likely to leave a losing team, than a winning team, and thus someone will be thrown onto a losing team. Thus there will be more "losses per character" than "wins per character" I would personally estimate this to be about 45:55
Due to 1 and 2, it stands to reason that it's very likely for those that have over a 45% win rate to have far more than the required 50 games played. This means that they are consuming more wins than they produce, and consuming less losses than they produce, in excess of what's required.
Now, what does this mean for a normal corp?
Well, fifty games each week, they'll try to pubstomp.
What about beyond those fifty games?
Well, let's see. People will be trying harder, and thus using better gear. This means one thing... Bigger payouts.
So, there's an incentive for skilled players to just repeatedly pubstomp beyond the norms.

Yeah I forsee myself joining a lot of already lost matches. My best hope is to go for the 42% 50 game one..... but with school, and the fact that I don't really care about that gear. I've got more ISK and spare SP than time. |

My opinion on the rewards.
Week One:
- 'Burnstalk' Laser rifle Please, Stop giving these out. I still have many from past events. It's downright an awful weapon and isn't decent until at-least Adv. Level.
- 'Dawnpyre' R-9 Drop Uplink This I very much approve of, people may think little of it. But once they get to sample the power of two active Up-links they'll forgive you.
- 'Neo' Commando A-I dropsuit I have biased opinions towards heavies personally, as the Minmatar lack one. However, this will be a great chance for others to sample heavy power, although Sentential would be better.
Week Two:
- 'Bond' Enhanced Shield Energizer Now this is good, jumping to Adv. Level of a new item. Great way to let players test it before potentially wasting skill points.
- 'Haywire' Wirykomi Swarm Launcher Yes, and Yes, a good sample of strong Anti-Vehicle Force. However, I feel Drivers, Gunners and Pilots are going to be have a rough week following.
- 'Neo' Assault A-I dropsuit I feel this should be Adv. Level, or a Basic Logistics. Assault is just too common a role for anyone to see Std. Level being worth anything.
Now, time for a shameless advert of sorts. Anyone seeking a Squad during the event feel free to join our channel: The Reaper Crew PMC Headset Users are preferred but no required, and we don't expect anything from you long term. So feel free to join our Squads we will not try to force you into our Corp. but if your skill catches our eyes, we may suggest it. |

This is a much better format for an event! The focus is on actually playing the game and trying to be part of a winning team (hence squad up you dummies).
I think there may be minor quibbles on the rewards or win percentage, but the format is just right. Praise where praise is due Community Event Team :). |

Does leaving a match typically count as a loss (I honestly don't know)? If not, this could get pretty messy...
1. Match starts 2. Match is one-sided 3. Players on losing side leave the battle en masse due to not wanting a loss for the event 4. Matchmaking inserts a bunch of new players onto the losing side 5. The smart players immediately leave, the less smart players player a little, meet the 100 WP criteria and get stuck with the loss, lowering their chances of completing the event objectives.
Either that, or at the first hint of a match looking like a loss for one team, the players on that team leave en masse, followed by new players joining and immediately leaving en masse. Rinse, repeat. Could make for some pretty boring games for those on the winning side. |

I like the direction of the event, just not the pay off I guess.
events should honestly make the game feel different bring us out of our normal shell, in this case it's going to make us care about our win loss ratio, but I just find it hard to get motivated for those bpc's...
might be different if the market was in and we could trade them, or if they were officer grade equipment maybe...
end of the day I think i'd of prefered to see this most coincide with the release of a new game mode and then allow players to get said reward by playing said game mode. |

I think I may have gotten too excited seeing the number change from 234 to 235 on the "Announcements and Events" count; then again, I do like events.
P.S.: Ya' know CCP, what if... just what if... The Kameiras brought back Omega Boosters to share with all the mercenaries of Dust 514 for a fee? (Hint hint...) |

I realized the FAQ for the event noted that leaving a match will still result in a loss (or a win for that matter), depending on the final outcome. It seems they implemented a 100 WP minimum for the match to count for the event, so that AFKing wouldn't be a viable option, but this also protects players that were put into a game on a losing team with the match about to end. As long as you don't charge in and kill a couple of people in the short, losing effort, it should not count against your record. |

I have to agree; there was nothing here new that I couldn't buy at any other time. On top of that, the event's constraints forces you to give a crap about the outcome of the battle for meager prizes.
The Dropsuit BPOs are A-1 class, which if my memory serves me right is the advanced suit, however, suits that I won't use at all since I have been using vehicles recently. The rest of the items seem just as lame to me.
Why CCP... why did you just hand out AURUM Prototype Swarm Launchers (Haywires) to anyone with advanced swarms, yet not a single item for Vehicle players? Do you really just not care about us? |
