Since you have to win just under half of your first 30 matches, people will be trying their damned best to make sure they win. Which means:
Protosuits Mass Drivers Grenade spam Oceanic protostomps
The people who don't have the skills for protosuits yet will be screwed for this very reason, and I believe fights will be very one-sided since the matchmaking is still bad in this game, not to mention pretty much no segregation between high SP and low SP players outside the academy.
Remember that if you don't meet the requirement for tier I rewards, you can go for tier II and get both tier I and II rewards. This means if you play 50 matches a week, an average of 7-8 matches a day and win 21 of those matches, you will get rewards from all three tiers! You don't have to be Rambo to win 21 out of 50 matches, so the goals for this event are very reasonable. |

Okay, so you guys want better rewards for doing events, we get it.
We want to make sure the events themselves are working in the right direction before we start throwing out the goodies, and believe me, there are some sweet things coming (for events at least ). We are working on a holiday themed event for later this year, and we'll make sure you guy get lot's of cool stuff, but to do that, we have to make sure the event goals are solid first.
So, thanks for all the comments, yes, even from you trolls because even your rants provide useful information and I'll be seeing you on the battlefields of New Eden soon. |

Honestly, this seems like a poor excuse for offering rewards that are mediocre at best and would never be used by most of the people receiving those rewards. Testing an event with decent rewards at stake will reveal far more valuable information than testing an event that has lost the interest of the player base before it has even started. I really don't see what the big deal is, and I'm not trying to troll. If you are worried about making sure the mechanics of the events are sound before "throwing out the goodies", then stick with the BPC rewards and avoid handing out BPOs. The BPCs are consumable, so any damage that may occur as a result of flawed event mechanics and/or people gaming the system would be limited due to the finite supply of rewards given out. I don't think I would be alone in saying this event would be much more exciting / worth participating in if the reward schedule were something like this:
- Tier I - Cala's MK-33 Submachine Gun BPC x 10
- Tier II - Balac's GAR-21 Assault Rifle BPC x 10
- Tier III - Thale's TAR-07 Sniper Rifle BPC x 10
That's only 30 total consumable BPCs maximum, but even at such low quantities, that schedule of rewards is orders of magnitude more appealing than what we have now. You are at the dance and you really want to kiss the girl you came with. Good news, she really wants you to kiss her too, so stop worrying about whether the moment is perfect and get on with it. As long as you don't puke on her, it will be a win-win. Stop being such a prude, or before you know it, the dance will be over and nobody will go home happy.
Sounds like trying to get to 3rd base on a first date to me. |

You don't have to be Rambo to win 21 out of 50 matches, so the goals for this event are very reasonable. Not sure of the need to increase complexity of these events when you have no tracking. Make it simpler, no 42% here, 45% there at tier this or tier that. Is it asking too much to say just win 20 matches and get xx items, win 30 matches get xx items. They stack, I don't have to worry about leaving a game wasting my time to try to get the magic % of win/lose or figuring out I lost too many game for tier one so I have to win xx to get tier 2 rewards thus also unlock tier 1. From one programmer to another, simple just works best. "Make it so, Number One"
I totally agree simple is good. But the danger is making events too simple. Then people say it's not fun. The Human Endurance event was pretty simple, but then players complained that it was too much grind. Other feedback on previous events also mentioned that multiple goals in a single event will help motivate people to keep playing instead of stopping after reaching a single goal.
Not being able to track progress is something we are working on addressing. In the next patch, you will see the first step towards that. I won't spoil it but you'll be able to read what it is tomorrow when the patch notes go out. |

So i ended up reading and coolio But why are the tier 1 and 2 rewards better than the tier 3 rewards? lol
Well, better is a matter of opinion.
The tier III rewards have higher AUR value. |
