You forgot the biggest problem this creates. Using a prototype weapon actually is WORSE than using a standard weapon since you lose fitting room for other, better items. (oh, and it only applies to some weapons and not all - lol mass drivers)

SP really isn't a big deal except in vehicles and AV. Vehicles are more expensive and you need complex level fits to have a fighting chance vs standard AV, so in other words dead. The game modes are bland and give no sense that you are conquering ...

There is only one skill that gives racial bonuses. I don't think it is listed anywhere anymore, but it used to be so I am assuming it hasn't changed.

The rail turrets AI has a cheating level of accuracy. They will direct hit moving infantry at 300m reliably. Lag alone makes that feat impossible to duplicate manned.

Not sure what you are on about, but marauder gives bonus to missile for sagaris and blaster for surya. Nothing else race specific at the moment.
