Just making a small note, will add it to main document later. Plasma cannon max range is roughly 200m, it has a 6 second projectile lifetime so it's difficult to get max range but the measured one is a good indicator anyway. Props to Grit Breathe...

Get armour and shields skills up asap to get that extra EHP. Also get complex shields as they will help you survive. Once you get ar to V you can start boosting its damage output without modules which is really nice and does make a big difference.

Ideally you'll have a proper shield extender, the militia one is really bad. A single booster and couple of resists goes a long way to help you survive. Low slots are just for helping you fit everything.

You do get 500k sp when you start this game, so you just dump it in ARs to get it to level V and hey presto you can use proto weapons in academy for a little while. It's not like you're in there for long anyway, then the real pain begins :)

Spec into logi lav and bump them, they'll instantly explode and if you have a caldari llav then your shields will just be scratched slightly. Easy peasy, you don't even need mines. Av nade for the ones that get stuck and you don't want to drive in...
