The only fix needed for tanks is to fix the armor rep bug or fix the shield rep bug. If my shield tank would rep properly, I'd never lose out to nothing but they top tankers.

I have a shield tank alt, 4.5 miles sp or so. I only die to beast armor tanks, or a well organized av team when I am being stupid. Tanks are fine, mine last on average 4-5 matches.
