Why costly? Simple having something eat up more cpu and space is a good enough reason I mean anipers would be sacrificing hitpoints for being less detectable, by fitting the module were they would normally have shield booster or armor plates both ...

The marker is based of sensor signal and other stuff when respawn it could be distrupting the signal streagth thingy and thus no chevron when spawning. I was think dust could expand on the whole signature thing and make it so the chevron doesnt ...
