I'm sure someone could rationalize the physics and lore behind this idea, but what if we had the ability to equip BlackOps Suits (different from CovOps) that have the capability of setting up a Micro-Worm Hole (or portal of some sort) in 2 areas of a map (more than likely on the coming larger maps) which allow infantry & vehicles to pass through to port-across the field.
BlackOps could receive War Points from dropping these "Worm Links" (possibly similar in design to a drop uplink but distorting the field around it). In order for BlackOps to gain access behind enemy lines they will obviously take advantage of the possibly Soon(TM) cloaking modules.
Prevention of BlackOps tactics could be done through the use of Visor Modules (such as EM/Heat Vision) to spot cloaked infantry and engage/fire on them. If people feel that "Infantry would be torn to oblivion if passing through a worm hole, even a micro one at that!" then it would at least still be interesting to have this tactic for vehicular warfare on larger maps Soon(TM).

Edit: A skillful BlackOps could also help to prevent a team from being Red-Lined, so long as the initial Worm Link was placed in an area at the initial spawn that could not be fired upon by enemy tanks/dropship/etc. |

Drop Uplinks don't transport Vehicles across the field and for example if a team had 3 BlackOps on a Skirmish map that had 3 Anti-MCC Cannons, they could set up "Worm Links" between objectives for better defense of those points. The downside being that if they are overrun and that portal/hole is still there, the enemy could easily pass through to capture the next objective. |

I see one very BIG issue with the portal idea. If it does not have a down side you could end up with entire teams jumping from one objective to the next, for an entire match. I think it would be really one sided. That being said I'd really hate to come out of one of those portals and have an entire enemy squad watching just shooting anything that comes through. |

You could also (possibily) see through the hole to determine whether the area is compromised or maybe even shoot through it. If a person/vehicle can pass through why not ammunition?
Edit: Although it would be hilarious if a squad was camping a "Worm Link" and next they know a marauder drives through and right over them while tank back-up run clean-up duty from potential AV players. |

Portals would be kinda screwy in this game but would add a interesting element to game play. Maybe having it has a module to be fitted would be better and giving the black ops suit a bonus to its use. Also I thonk the portal should close after 10 or 20 seconds permanent portals might alter the battlefield to much. Or atleast permenant infintry generated portal a instlattion on the other hand would be neat.
I made a suggestion of a black ops assault suit as well but maybe if they add eve like bonus one suit could be geared with bonus to a cloaking module and the other could be geared towards the warp module. |

What you are suggesting is exactly what the blackops hav is going to do. They will have a portal generator that will allow any of its passengers to (almost) instantly travel to any captured objectives, CRU, default spawn, or drop uplink.
They've said we might not get the portals this patch though... But that is what they have planned for them. |
