I just finished madoka magica, there were tears it was a very unmanly moment but good none the less. the first couple pages of this thread have tonnes of anime suggestions if you need a follow up.

If you're interested, there's going to be a new season of Mushi shi and it's going to be aired in the next anime season, this month later probably.

Soul Eater Not! is coming out soon.
It's a sequel of sorts that focuses on meisters who are not in the advanced class with Maka and the others.
Old characters will make cameos, but it will be an original story and set in the same universe I think.
Worth looking into!

New season is almost here. I'm gonna have to look these up and see which would be good. There's a couple I recognize from mangas I've read (only one really lol) but overall it doesn't seem as good as the winter line up we had at first glance.

steins gate i started but didn't finish and i will get back too at some point.
guilty crown was bad and laughable.
shuffle! I've looked at and think I might enjoy but haven't gotten around to watching
my little monster i haven't looked into.
Clannad people tell me is good but doesn't look to be my taste I'll give it a shot though.

Well this anime season is over and the ones I watched were really great (check previous pages for my final veredicts) and this week some of the animes of the spring season will finally appear, here is my list of must watch:
-Blade & Soul: Based on a popular MMO, I'm really interested how well the anime will be so I'll give it a chance.
-Atelier Escha & Logi: Based on the legendary Atelier videogame saga, this game will be the animated version of the PS3 game, if someone here is an Atelier fan then this is a must watch.
-Akuma no Riddle: An all girls private school with assassins and a dark plot, looks really interesting and I'll give it a chance.
-Fairy Tail (2014 version): The reboot of the Fairy Tail series, if you were fan of the original one then you should go for it, I know that I'll start watching it too.
-Gokukoku no Brynhildr: If you really love animes like Elfen Lied then this is a must watch, with gore, magic and a dark plot this anime is a great promise.
-Mushishi Zoku Shou: the second season of one of the best animes ever made, Mushishi, if you remember with love the first season then you must not miss this.
-No Game No Life: Two NEET brothers were summoned in a world were any conflict are solved by games and they must do their best to save humanity, I believe that this will be a great action packed comedy.
-Sidonia no Kishi: One of the most aniticipated of the season, based on the legendary manga of the same name, the heroes of this anime must fight in mechas against hordes of aliens looking to wipe out the space ships carrying the last of mankind, TLDR; Shingeki no Kyojin in space.
-Black Bullet: In a future were human are in danger thanks to a deadly parasite, a group of heroes will try to protect the city of Tokyo from destruction, this anime will be packed with action and mistery.
-Date a Live 2: The second season of Date a Live, if you loved the first one then don't miss this!
-Hanamonogatari: The next part of the Monogatari saga, if you're a fan then don't miss it.
-Break Blade: An intense war between nations with mechas and magic, looks like it will be a highlight this season.
-Bokura wa Minna Kowaisou: If you like romance, slice of life with school comedy then this anime is for you, it will be the best slice of life of the season.
-Mekaku City Actors: Based from a musical project (it's not a musical anime btw) this anime is very original and the plot about a NEET meeting a cyber girl will be fun to watch.
-Selector Infected WIXOSS: A psychological thriller featuring girls, that's enough to give it a chance for me.
-Captain Earth: An original anime from Studio BONES, one of the best animation houses in Japan, this anime promises a lot.

Having seen very few anime myself, I can pretty much just recommend everything I have seen.
To make it simple I will just post a top 8 list.
1. Shakugan no Shana
This one was amazing, It had great plot, characters, and romance if that is your thing.
2. Fullmetal Alchemist // Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
I still have yet to see an anime that was straight out more epic than this, the plot just sucked me in and almost all of the characters were amazing.
3. Kaze no Stigma
This, like Shakugan no Shana, also had great romance and the main character is my favorite character of all time. I feel like there should have been a second season, and maybe there will be, but without one this only gets 3rd place on my list.
4. Fate / Stay Night
I am only six episodes into this one but I am so hooked that this earns 4th place already.
5. Angel Beats
The show itself was mediocre and almost comedic but the ending was so powerful that it managed to sneak in to fifth.
6. Attack on Titan
This one was good, and probably would be higher had I not watched better things. Overall it was amazing though.
7. Naruto // Naruto Shippuden
This was my first anime and it can be epic at times, but it is too drawn out and there is way too much filler for me to place this very high.
8. Blue Exorcist
This one was okay, I just didn't like it that much. |

for only being so short afro samurai was really well done.
the new season.
so far I've only started 2 series blade and soul and mushi-shi (the sequel)
Mushi-shi: I'm falling in love with the series all over again. If i had a critique (in the first 2 episodes) is that it isn't as bizarre. it seems more about mushi interacting with the environment than people. but we're 2 episodes in so it has time.
blade and soul: I like it the fight scenes are visceral the pacing is good. there is adequate blood for the blood god, and it actually gets on things instead of just spraying everywhere without landing on anything or anyone which is nice. uhhh boobs, yea, boobs that's part of my first impression. I'm like 50 minutes in or something and I'm pretty sure i can count the number of words spoken by the protagonist on one hand which is quite frankly infuriating. there is "strong and silent" and then there is "******* mute". I really hope that the dialog picks up in later episodes.
does your first impression differ from mine?

Regarding my previous top 8, now that I have finished Fate / Stay Night it shot straight up to my number 1. I did not think I was going to like it as much as I did, but it managed to top Shakugan no Shana in both epicness and romance, which I thought was going to be impossible.
