I think you discount the number of players who gave up on Dust due to lack of a future.

CCP hasn't scratched the surface of what this game could be. On better hardware and increased resources I'd put this game up against any shooter out there. With all it's blemishes it's still the best shooter I've ever played. We are reaching a point where the game critically needs more players and some excitement if they want to continue to receive revenue from the game.
If they make the announcement now, there would be money coming in to help cover the costs. We've showed incredible resiliency as a playerbase, but they are asking a lot from us given the circumstances.

It's really crazy that a business as big as CCP isn't able to see the benefit of making an announcement. If they aren't able to make the port happen the game dies anyway. There's literally no downside to making the announcement.
The excuse the CCP fanbois give is that past promises have burned them. But it's one thing to promise a feature and it doesn't happen. But that only matters in a game that people believe has a future. A port is the future, this isn't even remotely debatable as the PS3 has an expiration date that is approaching.
I logical person cannot honestly come up with a valid reason for staying silent IF the intent is to port the game. If there is no intent to port the game there is every reason to stay silent. I'd argue that knowing this and continuing to act as though the game has a future is a bigger slap in the face by CCP than making an announcement but not delivering.

Another question is:
"Do CCP want to make another version of Dust from scratch since new engines/system with better server infrastructure?"
If so:
"Will be that game F2P, or proper AAA title for one cost, or monthly based one?"

honestly I wouldn't mind paying for dust if it's on next gen/PC..dust delivers everything I love it just has a lot of bugs and I can put up with them but the PS3? No thanks

Don't kid yourselves, people. Odinson's logic is correct in that there is absolutely no reason to keep a port secret. The money they could expect to haul in following such an announcement is such that even CCP is not foolish enough to keep quiet.
Therefore the only logical conclusion is that there is no port. Get off the sinking ship while there is still time.

OK, I'm just about convinced that CCP isn't really interested in this topic anymore because they're not investing in a port. Not a single reasonable, informative response to any of the threads about this, can only mean they aren't going to be porting it, or they'd say something.
So that means this game is dead and if so, I'd be better off (so would everyone else) to spend my time playing one of these new f2p games on the PS4. Are any of them anything like Dust? Or are they simplistic, poor imitations? |

I've wanted it on ps4 more than anything but lately I've been leanin towards PC..sure the ps4 is good but the options for PC are limitless...either one would be great though

No idea what Microsoft plans on doing with Xbox Windows 10 but it could be beneficial to dust if you can get cross platform play due to Windows 10

This is exactly what I've been saying myself. The answer to this point from CCP is always that they will not discuss it as a matter of policy, but that to me is ridiculous, when it clearly is jeopardising the game. |

I thought about that myself. Then I realised I've only just gotten into the game, I might as well play it for what I can get out of it for as long as it's around. But unless and until they tell me that it will be ported AND everything I've invested in it will be ported with it, I'm not spending another cent on it. They may be just milking it for what they can get out of it until it dies, but they're not going to do that with me. |
