It's strange how everyone has access to a carrier (warbarge) of aircraft carriers (MCC). It sucks how we can't even go to our warbarges It sucks how nothing tangible or relating gameplay/modes got changed/added besides bugfixes AND this is the 1st expansion since the game released almost 2 years ago on 5/14/13

What I see here is another great step towards the New Player Experience... more things for them to do and more tools that give them advantages towards closing the gap towards a competitive Drop Suit Fitting.
More BPO's is never a bad thing, for the players it enables them to make isk by grinding. For the Devs the sales keeps the lights on at the office.
When you say "open world option", do you mean the ability of a squad to drop into a Low or Null sec Planetary District that is infested with Rogue Drones, destroying their Hive and looting a cache they were protecting?
All the while under constant threat of another squad lurking in the background cloaked up waiting to ambush you once the Drones are vanquished in order to steal the rewards of all your hard work?

Cheapest aircraft carrier you can get today.
Get a cargo container ship line the top boxes with interlocking flight deck. the boxes will also contain equipment to maintain aircraft. The idea of using civilian crafts and vehicles for war purpose has been an age old practice and it is considerably practical; cheap; efficient. Have Vtol birds instead.
Concord may be involved in the war barge issuing as they are for immortal pilot training. Concord's primary role is to ensure that immortals do not get too out of hand so a free war barge may be a means of control. After all they can track all capsuleer ships with unnerving accuracy.

Don't lecture me on mining corporations designing war assets when a soft-drink company (QUAFE) has designed a dropsuit for Dust mercs.
Also, Outer Ring Excavations (ORE) has always designed mining ships for surviving in hostile regions of space. The Skiff and the Prospector come to mind and those ships can be fitted to defend themselves. In fact, some Capsuleers in Eve Online have even used the Skiff as an effective gate camper due to its very high scan resolution (for fast locking speed) coupled with battleship-like tanking abilities. The only downside with this is that the Skiff doesn't have a turret nor missile hardpoint and it limited to tackling and energy draining. But man, that thing can sure tank.

The only thing that makes me go "..er..." is the flat damage upgrade subsystem. That's pretty much going to be on every warbarge taking out variety. |

Easy way around it is to use an APEX Logi or something and throw out a bunch of drop uplinks/nanohives/Proxy explosives.
Soon as you die, hit up that MCC, wait for the WP to roll in, AFK through the rest of the match.
Sniper range nerf did nothing but make it harder to counter-snipe redliners. That and open up for really stupid feedback

If anyone is using better gear (uplinks) those will be employed more often than yours, or will last longer (hives). If you take the time to really place solid hives, links, etc in tactical places relevant to the map and match then it is going to take quite a bit longer, risk being shot at a fair bit more and still not be completely immune to losing your work to hostile action.
It is far from a perfect system of course, but it is an improved one. That being said I am happy to throw some ISK at anyone who provides me unique footage of substantial reproducible War Point harvests.

It's not the hardware that makes the game. It just seems that all the cool young kids think that you can only have fun on the most recent hardware.
Personally I think the only problem with Dust is the low framerate and lags, and besides that it's progressing well currently. Something that wouldn't change on the PS4. But that's why I fully support Legion on PC and hope it'll come true some day. Until then I have fun taking a small look into dust every few months with the new patches.

We have 14 slots available and only 5 modules so far. No duplicates allowed. So well... there won't be much of variety to begin with. Not for now at least.

DUST = Free + optional AUR. Warbarges will have effect on your gameplay. Destiny = 60$ + 20$ + another 20$ and it will go on. Ships don't do anything.

It doesn't really help the NPE that much all it does is slightly accelerate their isk and SP gain. It doesn't teach players the aspects of the game or help players match with people of their player skill . |
