Dear players,
we have been meaning to add LP items to the LP store (dropsuits and weapons) primarily, but we also would like to work on a parity between solid factional fittings, and what kind of other modules and equipment could be created or copied to make such fittings. Ideally we would like to see viable and factional themed fits that have all "Republic " or "Federation" in all slots. Sometimes it won't be possible but we would like to attempt it.
Please take a look at the google docs spreadsheet.
In it, we have attempted to make competitive fittings based on a prototype dropsuit with a faction theme to identify the "holes" in the loyalty store.
Faction Fittings
We would welcome your feedback on both necessary LP items, and also the viability and theme of these fits. Even if there is an extender in one place that might not be 100% accurate (on an Amarr suit), "viability" may trump "lore" in some cases. This is not the place either to discuss balance or viability of specific modules so please don't derail with that.
We would appreciate it i If you could form your opinions like so:
"Amarr Scout should trade this for that, (brief explanation why)"
Please keep it civil and constructive as usual

True, would you rather wait for racial parity or be able to buy heathen vehicles in the Amarr Loyalty Store?

I had this internal debate the other day.
In all honesty I genuinely don't know. I'd love to see the real thing. Really would.
In the meantime I'll just continue to accrue LP that I will never use.

The Amarr scout should have an assault scrambler rifle instead of a scrambler rifle.
Because:
The Scrambler rifle is easier to overheat without the bonus and can be very very bad for a scout. When fighting another strafing scout the over heat could pop up quickly.

I completely disagree, I've ran the Amarr scout with a Viziam since 1.8 dropped and hardly had issues with the over heat. Also, running the Amarr scout "stealthy" is going to get you shot. If you want stealth go Gallente, otherwise just watch your map and keep moving.
Plus the AScR is a joke.

The Amarr is definitely not meant to be stealthy but literally screaming your position to everyone around is still a bad idea.
The AScR is a surprisingly fun gun even tho it really still needs a little bit of work for it to be "balanced". The dispersion + the reduction to armor damage makes it burn way too much ammo to take down a brick tanked anything. Reducing dispersion by 10-15% would likely make it more of the mid/short range weapon it should be.

Why not spice some things up and do a paintjob on the existing models (gold anybody?). Call them "The Emperess modified Madruguar" (or something), and adjust the stats to fit the Amaar playstyle, as suggested above.
This would be a great way of experimenting with the theoretical stats and balance before any proper "models" are in place. They would still be higly recognisable on the battlefield due to the paintjob.
It could also fit the lore, as the empire failed attempt to produce their own range of vehicles (probably due to design perfectionism), they are forced to take the hull of "Heathen" vehicles from the battlefield, and retrofit them into holy prototypes. |

For the Gallente Assault:
I would swap out one Shield Extender for another Light Damage modifier. Simply because Gallente it's Gallente Assault. I don't mind some shielding on it though.
Everything looks fine in the weapons slot besides the obvious Locus grenade when it should be a Federation flux Grenade which does not exist....yet but for the sake of this fit I'll just say go with a Reactive plate since Federation Variants do not exist.
Swap out the Dampener for a Federation Kinetic Catalyzer and the two Plates for Federation Ferroscale plates, which do not exist yet.
In Summary this is the fitting: Highs: 2x Damage Modifiers 1x Shield extender
Weapons: Federation Assault Rifle Federation Ion Pistol Federation Flux Grenade
Lows: Two Federation Ferroscale Plates Two Federation Armor Repairs One Federation Reactive Plate
CCP holds the Caldari's hand so this doesn't happen again.

It has far too much kick to be used at range and I can put out twice the DPS with a normal scrambler in close quarters, I see no use for the AScR.

Dual tanking!
The horror, THE HORROR!!!
For the love of all that is pure and good, replace the Amarr sent and scout's shield extenders with damage mods.
Also maybe replace one of the Amarr scouts damps with a range extender. I'm one of the few people who run amarr scout and everyone of my fits has a range extender. Might be a personal preference but it does help squads a lot being able to see further out and utilizes the Amarr scouts precision bonus.

I can only comment on the chnges i would make on suits that I run. I'm typing this on the basis of my own practicality, also from the fact that nearly all of my fits I run racially themed suits. My only exception is the Amarr Logi, because it doesnt have the pg at advanced to fit 3 uplinks, plates, and a amarrian weapon.
Minmatar Logi: would much rather fit a nanohive than a remote explosive. If my heavy/squad cant use it its got no place on my equipment slot.
The low slots are wrong. Its the weakest of all of the medium frames, you have to stack HP. Throw away the kin cats, ferroscale plate, and the regulator. Replace with all enh/ complex armor plates with one or two reps. That wil get you roughly 700- 800 armor, or roughly an ADV gallene or amarr assault.
Minmatar Assault: Throw away the flaylock. Its bonus applies to the SMG, its the best side arm weapon to use on the assault.
Minmatar Sentinel: Get rid of the regulator and reactive plate, and fit ormal plate and a rep. The high slots should all be extenders.
Amarr sentinel: Replace forge gun with HMG. Replace Magsec with either the Smg or a scrambler pistol
Amarr commando: Replace drop uplink with nanohive.
Amarr Assult: Lose the precision enhancer. replace with either shield extender or damage modifier. Replace drop uplink with nanohives.
Amarr Logi: Change all of the high slots to shield extenders. Replace nano hive with repair tool.
Gallente Assault: Get rid of dampener, you cannot hide an assault suit from the most basic of passive scans. Replace that and the reactive plate with regular plates. You dont need a reactive plate with your already native high regen.
Gallente logi: Change the high slots to shields or damage. Precision does not help your active scanners in any way and wont pick up any scout. the low slots should reflect the assault suits and stack nothing but HP.
Caldari: For all of the suits you miss the fact that they all run at least one CPU module in the low slots to get the most out of their shields. You might of missed it if you are fitting basic modules on proto suits.
Caldari Assault: Get rid of the range amplifier, odd are, you would have to stack a cpu module in there anyway. Otherwise, a reactive plate/ armor rep is much more usefull.
Caldari Logi: Replace drop uplink with rep tool. Replace cardiac regulator with either a plate or reps.
Sidenote: Its nice to see the Caldari logi getting a side arm. Quote:Maybe this should be the Anti Vehicle Logi? mag sec and swarms and av grenades If so then maybe it could be an AV logi, the bonus to nano hives certainly would help set up any forge gun nests. Otherwise an AV logi is suicide.
Redline for Thee, but no Redline for Me.

This is a big list so, away we go:
Amarr Sentinel: Give it the HMG. forge gun is a bad choice.
Minmatar Sentinel: It does not look appeasing to me. No suggestions for improvement. Perhaps Burst HMG.
Gallente Sentinel: Use Forge Gun. 2x Damage mods and Assault or Breach.
Caldari Sentinel: Trade out 2 extenders for Damage mods.
Amarr Commando: Don't give it an uplink. That doesn't fit with Commando themes, regardless if it is racial equipment or not.
Minmatar Commando: Eh? Sure, why not.
Gallente Commando: What a worthless EQ Slot. Give it remote explosives or nanohives. Active Scanner does not fit the idea of a commando regardless if it is the only racial EQ available.
Caldari Commando: Are Caldari Commandos getting a buff to swarm laucher damage, as they are Caldari weapons? If they are not getting one immediately then replace the swarms with normal Rail Rifle. Also, 3 damage mods.
Amarr Assault: Would be better off with Nanohive or REs. Also proto burst scrambler pistol... please?
Minmatar Assault: I think it would be better off with 2 energizers or 2 rechargers, not 1 of each.
Gallente Assault: See post 21 https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2416042#post2416042
Caldari Assault: Take out Amplifier. Completely wasted space. does nothing on that suit. better off with an empty slot. Use ferroscale. Swap out Energizer for damage mod.
Amarr Logistics: Needs an amplifier to make precision useful. Repair tool > Injector
Minmatar Logistics: good 'nuf'
Gallente Logistics: Remove Dampener. Add Amplifier. Swap Injector for REs.
Caldari Logistics: good enough. maybe swap cardiac regulator for ... i dunno
Amarr Scout: Needs second enhancer. Swap Active Scanner for Uplink.
Minmatar Scout: Perfect. No complaints. Looks like you just took the most common build.
Gallente Scout: Swap Dampener for Ferroscale & Swap Cloak for Nanohive. OR Swap dampener for Normal Plate and Dampener for ADV Dampener.
Caldari Scout: Swap Normal Scanner for the 200m ranged one.
And the biggest thing: We need LP Flux Grenades. Give them to all the Gallente Suits. All of them. And to some of the Amarr Suits. or All of the Amarr suits.

I run dual plasma cannon gallamando and the fed gallente commando looks solid. There are a couple of things I would like to say though.
- high slot is perfect. A complex damage mod works wonders against vehicles. Adding anything other than the damage mod would be a waste of plc potential against vehicles and with a plc fitted this fit is perfect to help keep vehicles at bay if not help destroy them.
- remove reactive plate and add either a full plate or a full repper. I've found that an extra repper provides some extra viability and durability since the commando already has a decent buffer. Choose one or the other, reactive plates make the suit lose too much sustainability in battle. Like I said though, choosing the repper over the plate will help sustain a lot longer and will keep downtime to a minimum. Players will thank you for it.
***low slot layout should look like this: 2x complex armor rep, 1x complex plate
- equipment slot: the scanner is a great edition and adds good tactical value in team play. That being said, using and advanced one is sufficient and saves CPU and power grid. Even with proto, you won't pick scouts up and most other siutsuse little ewar. So if fittings are tight, the rope cuts first here.
*** a word on scanners for the commando. I've noticed that the quantum is better only if you are not willing to scan each time you get. If you are diligent with your scans the the regular variety gives more situational awareness because you can scan more often to give you a general idea of your surroundings. Definitely use the regular variety for this fit.
- weaponry: even though I am a hardcore plc aficionado, I do admit that the assault rifle and the plc would make a great match. Both getting the damage bonus means that the weapons remain relevant and there is no wasted sp investment. The problem here would be prioritization. I don't see this suit as a full av fit since just 1 plasma cannon isn't going to get the job done solo. I suggest only putting an adv plc to save on fittings and sp costs and equipping a proto assauat rifle. This way it becomes av support and a pest to vehicles in general while maintaining a solid anti infantry role. Only having am adv plc also means that a character can use this fit even with plc operation level 1. Most people have assault rifles level 3 or above.
The plasma cannon functions as a great initiator/finisher and of course that ohk can end a flusterclunk before it happens. I see this fit having a holy sh*t factor that many people might not expect, specially when a heavy is rounding a corner and you blap him in the face before he evem gets a chance to fire a shot.
Final thoughts: the fit is solid. Reactive plate is a no go. Downgrades to adv scanner and advance plc to save on fittings and sp investment. Apart from that, all is good.
