You generate more clones for free and with that you can launch more attacks on hostile districts. The change is there to encourage fighting. On the plus side even if one alliance has all districts they have to fight each other to generate ISK. This could either mean that large groups dont take over all of the districts or they fight each other for fun in starter fits/BPO's. I knew the answer it's a rhetorical question now their literally no reason to hold land except for more clones. This is quite the dumb idea. Yeah but with those free generated clones you can launch attacks for free. And dont forget that the income from the PC matches is aswell increased. So beeing lazy wont pay off. You have to continuesly search for a district that you can launch a attack on. I could even see a long run agreement where district flipping is prohibited on the community. Lets say your corp holds 5 districts and launches a attack. That attack is not there to flip the district but instead to have a decent fight and good payouts. Ofcourse both sides will still fight hard simply cause the looser gets no ISK payout at all.
Another thing is the new system will prevent another blue donout cause its not attractive to hold all of the land. When nobody except 1 alliance has all districts then there is nobody to fight against. So showing mercy on some scrub corp could bring more profit then flipping the district. Cause it is better to get their clone count low and then wait 2-3 days to re attack again to farm them.
you see now even the biggest scrubs in the game have a purpose in PC. And that is to get farmed every day while we keep them the illusion that they defended their home successfull. |

Kain Spero wrote:I'm sorry your vision is so narrow you can't see how to make ISK in the new environment. Heck I know even Zatara has some pretty creative plans to continue to make ISK. Players will find a way and passive ISK will be put to bed. Also, not really "moving over to goons" since I've been there all along. Fact is that Roman, Espeon, and the other leaders deserve their time to run things. What happens to ERA is up to them and it's extremely clear. Again, getting rid of passive ISK was the plan all along. Just needed a bit more firepower to lay the groundwork for a convincing argument and bluing up all of the best players in the game did the trick. Everyone was so willing to suck at the teat of passive ISK they were willing to do anything to protect it. Even destroy all of PC and everyone's access to it in the process while allying with people that they hated.
You do realize I don't even play the game anymore, right?
Making isk isn't exactly a priority if I'm not playing. I'm just commenting on how stupid the game has become. If this is the way you actually wanted the game for whatever reason then good for you, but like I said it won't last. Your idea on what works as a valid gameplay mechanic is basically terrible and will be overruled in time. |

They made sure that it failed on PS3 so that CCP would be forced back onto PC where they, and their master-race-minded cronies, would be able to compete in a game based on their personal preferences as opposed to dust's current attempt at consoles.
Note: Yeah, I personally blame them all for ruining any chance this game had to be fun for many, because the meta was more important than the actual long-term viability of the game itself. |

The only way any of this would matter is if they wiped ISK.
As of now everyone has stockpiled so much ISK that any new guys will struggle to get into PC while the remaining vets are rolling around in billions of ISK and will likely never have to worry about it again. I alone have 600 million ISK sitting around doing nothing. I'm sure many other vets have just as much if not more...

No, this is the product of Nyain San using PC funding to wage war against militia players in pubs. They made a PC problem into everyones problem. They weren't the only ones doing it, but they did it the most. You are acting like this is a case of someone losing a PC fight and not being happy about it cause they didn't get to collect the reward. Thats not the case at all.
CCP is not making the game "boring". They are just ending a massive entitlement and subsidies program that a handful of players were using to negatively impact the game.
In an earlier post you said "Well now all someone has to do to bleed out Nyain San is run them down in pubs". Good! The cost of the proto equipment is part of balancing. Its high costs is supposed to limit how often a player will choose to lose it, lest they cross into the red ink. So now Nyain will have their entitlements tap turned off and will have to compete on their own merit.
if they are good players this wont be a problem for them. Cutting off the CCP issued ISK welfare check should make things much more interesting all around. |

It gets really tiring trying to explain to people that we need MORE people in PC. If that means that it needs to be carebear for a while then so be it.
45 mil ISK clone pack is ********.
Reading some of the responses from people here makes my brain hurt. People just don't seem to have a solid grasp on incentives and risk/reward. CCP dropped the ball by not having some other form of Team Deploy. It stacked the odds from the onset in the favor of those that had participated in corp battles in beta. That on top of an SP and an experience gap. Fast forward a year and you have a gamemode that is(was) dominated by a ridiculously small amount of players.
I discuss this stuff with Zatara on Skype. It's like some people are just plain delusional about the state of PC and the participation levels. We were having a long argument about how many corps and players have pulled out of PC. Zatara didn't think that was the case. I'm not sure how he could think that, but it seems many other dudes from elite corps have this opinion.
PC has hurt Dust from a veteran retention standpoint more than any other thing in my opinion. And we have people in here that want the ******* clone pack price to be more than 45 million???? When a lot of known corps have 3 to 5 people on at a time we want people to do BPO 100% tax weekends.
I'm a bit doped up on my pain meds at the moment so I am rambling a bit. But is it just me or are some people just completely delusional about the state of the game and what is needed to create interest in PC (or as I like to refer, our only avenue for team deploy).

I thought I clarified this on skype, but I wasn't debating whether less people were in PC now in terms of player numbers, I totally believe that.
I just said that I don't remember the number of corps in PC falling before the high forties until after locking, while being cognizant that 20+ of those were on PFC. Which meant that like 20-25 corps owned 200-220 districts.
But certainly I have not forgotten numerous corps have come and gone in terms of holding land themselves.
187., Black Phoenix Mercenaries, Titans of Phoenix, Eliters, TRE, Valor Coalition, Saluki, Dia Valkryie, Maphia, and many others like Dust University, Internal Error/Imps/Teamplayers and much of EoN., New Omens, the list goes on.
