You would just end up with alt and shell corps spreading out who holds the districts. You also have to remember at it's highest number of owned districts ERA was actually representing Fatal Absolution, Teamplayers, Imperfects, Heaven's Lost Property, The Rainbow Effect, and Escrow Removal and Acquisition.

Kain Spero wrote:843 Epidemic wrote:Good to see clone pack price increase, now even less people can afford to get into PC! WOO I'll post what I put in the feedback thread. Kain Spero wrote: Again, if you actually win your fights you can recoup the costs of clone packs much more quickly than previously. After speaking with a few people I do see that the adjustment of being forced to kill every clone in battle may need to not happen in this pass.
Some numbers:
3x Clone Packs at 45m = 135m upfront cost
ISK paid out destroying 450 clones on a hub = 90m + ISK from clones lost while attacking (avg 80 attacker clones x 3 x 200k) = 183m ISK
Potentially profit after just taking one hub = 48m ISK
The ironic thing is the worse your KDR while still winning your fights the more likely a corp will turn a profit breaking into PC.
CEOs still have to organize their members and provide content to keep that corp logging in. I expect that many corps will begin to institute taxes in order to afford clone packs, vehicle replacement programs, player bonuses, etc. The age of ISK going straight to the corp wallet (the directors) from passive and then being doled out to members is indeed coming to an end. The age of 25 to 40m ISK a week paychecks from passive ISK is also coming to an end.
so the players who participate in pc will make a little more yes, but a corp as a whole makes nothing, so now they are saying for everyone to abandon corps and become mercs for pc . screw holding land and accomplishing the only thing that is accomplishable with a cause. lets just make it where no one plays cause pc was and always will be the one thing that has brought back and brings player basis together. hell it brought kujo back for a week. and now theres no point, let a corp sit on what they have for what? to say i have a bigger *****?

Im liking these changes. Sp PC will actually about fighting instead of huge alliances that pay people passive ISK.
See, you guys all act like this is now going to be a consequence for PC. But really, the truth is most of this ISK wasn't going to PC, it was being paid out to people so they could run proto in pubs 24/7. Which broke the game balance, cause equipment costs are supposed to be part of the balancing equation. Once a group of people is able to eliminate that from the balancing equation, things get broken. All the unbalanced matches in pub are a testament to this.
As a pub player, i had to balance my gear choices based on how much pub games paid me. Meanwhile, i was up against people who received large subsidies from outside of pub games. Thats going to slowly change now. As reserves dwindle, spamming fully loaded Ion Cannon Maddys is going to become a much more expensive endeavor that not many can afford to due on a regular basis. Destroying them is also going to be more satisfying.
In short, using proto is going to go back to being a privilege instead of an entitlement. Im sorry if these changes "hurt PC", but under the present system, the PC passive ISK hurts the gamemode I play the most. So my sympathy is extremely limited in that regard. |

So in this new PC model the corp will make 0 ISK from owning districts and fighting in PC. Considering the corp is the one paying for clone packs this is a complete failure. Guess it will have to go back to donations like we did pre-corp taxes.
"Hey guys want to play a PC?"
"Sure I love to play PC."
"Ok I will need you all to donate 2,812,500 ISK so we can launch a clone pack."
The only corps that will be able to compete will be the ones from DNS that stockpiled all those billions of ISK.
So, once again Kain gets changes that favor himself and his cronies. Why CCP? Why? |

Now they just need to remove all ISK generated by district locking in the past. The problem is not completely addressed by this fix, since the farming has been going on for a VERY long time. |

These are bad changes.
There is reason to fight, but there is no reason to hold land. To deny someone income, now all one needs to do is deny them fights. The land they hold is worthless.
If someone wanted to bleed out Nyain San all they would have to do is force them to play hard in pubs all day, and they would eventually start operating at a loss. That's a ridiculous system for someone who owns a massive chunk of land to gain zero benefit from it. |

God Hates Lags wrote:Am I the only one who thinks this will be a disaster? Districtless corps are getting shafted big time. Here's how.
The pay 45 mill to attack a district, if they win they get some of their money back. If they lose, the lose it all. Now they have to win three times in a row doing this, because what's the point of a production facility now? And if they win, they get to be a district owning corp.
This just seems like really weird corp battles where one side doesn't have to ante up anything and the other side doesn't get a full payout upon winning.
A better solution would have been for districts to generate resources that Eve players can use/sell. Imo they should just turn the isk faucet back on for as long as dust lasts, then wipe all assets when legion comes and move to a better model.
What's the point of anything now tbh? No point in farming ISK or storing it for that matter...especially when you suggest to wipe all the assets when legion arrives.

Actually, finally getting rid of passive ISK was a direct result of the DNS donut and the pursuit of 100% control, so I'd have to thank all the folks that decided to not fight eachother and remove people from PC for making this possible. You served your purpose well. Combining the fact that the two largest landholders giving up their districts should make these changes have some very interesting results and serve as a great base for monitoring the changes.

I'm aware that by being forced to move over to goons officially you have to try to pass everything off as a giant plot in order to save face for your previous failures. Really, I get that aspect of the meta and how it's important to you. But let's drop the act for a moment, I don't really care about your plans, Zatara's plans, Kujo's plans, or anyone's. You're basically all a bunch of kids trying to play James Bond over the internet, and when something doesn't go according to plan you try to pretend it did. It's not just you, all of you guys do it. It's as funny as it is incompetent. Dust meta is most comparable to a bunch of slutty girls smoking in the bathroom talking trash about the other girls at school.
But seriously, you haven't actually accomplished anything here. Dust is done and this is the kind of thing a lot of bad players have been whining for, long before MH got to any kind of crazy ownership levels. Terrible players have always resented those who have territory and have actively advocated for them to receive nerfs of all types. Nerfs to "passive" income, nerfs to proto equipment, nerfs to attack vehicles, whatever favors the successful people.
This kind of poor design was long in the works and it didn't matter what happened with molden heath. It will come, people will see it is stupid, and it will be changed. |

I'm sorry your vision is so narrow you can't see how to make ISK in the new environment. Heck I know even Zatara has some pretty creative plans to continue to make ISK. Players will find a way and passive ISK will be put to bed.
Also, not really "moving over to goons" since I've been there all along. Fact is that Roman, Espeon, and the other leaders deserve their time to run things. What happens to ERA is up to them and it's extremely clear.
Again, getting rid of passive ISK was the plan all along. Just needed a bit more firepower to lay the groundwork for a convincing argument and bluing up all of the best players in the game did the trick. Everyone was so willing to suck at the teat of passive ISK they were willing to do anything to protect it. Even destroy all of PC and everyone's access to it in the process while allying with people that they hated.

Give me numbers Kain since you seem to be good at that, what would be the ISK payout you would get as an individual player topping the board (is that even a factor in PC?) for a single attack both sides losing roughly 150 clones a piece.
