Im liking these changes. Sp PC will actually about fighting instead of huge alliances that pay people passive ISK.
See, you guys all act like this is now going to be a consequence for PC. But really, the truth is most of this ISK wasn't going to PC, it was being paid out to people so they could run proto in pubs 24/7. Which broke the game balance, cause equipment costs are supposed to be part of the balancing equation. Once a group of people is able to eliminate that from the balancing equation, things get broken. All the unbalanced matches in pub are a testament to this.
As a pub player, i had to balance my gear choices based on how much pub games paid me. Meanwhile, i was up against people who received large subsidies from outside of pub games. Thats going to slowly change now. As reserves dwindle, spamming fully loaded Ion Cannon Maddys is going to become a much more expensive endeavor that not many can afford to due on a regular basis. Destroying them is also going to be more satisfying.
In short, using proto is going to go back to being a privilege instead of an entitlement. Im sorry if these changes "hurt PC", but under the present system, the PC passive ISK hurts the gamemode I play the most. So my sympathy is extremely limited in that regard. |

This is the product of a whiny fanbase that can't handle the consequences of losing.
No, this is the product of Nyain San using PC funding to wage war against militia players in pubs. They made a PC problem into everyones problem. They weren't the only ones doing it, but they did it the most. You are acting like this is a case of someone losing a PC fight and not being happy about it cause they didn't get to collect the reward. Thats not the case at all.
CCP is not making the game "boring". They are just ending a massive entitlement and subsidies program that a handful of players were using to negatively impact the game.
In an earlier post you said "Well now all someone has to do to bleed out Nyain San is run them down in pubs". Good! The cost of the proto equipment is part of balancing. Its high costs is supposed to limit how often a player will choose to lose it, lest they cross into the red ink. So now Nyain will have their entitlements tap turned off and will have to compete on their own merit.
if they are good players this wont be a problem for them. Cutting off the CCP issued ISK welfare check should make things much more interesting all around. |

You just made pubs more relevant than PC.
Do you have any idea how backwards that is?
Its not about prioritizing game modes. The concept is exceedingly simple to understand:
PC passive ISK was supposed to be used to bankroll PC warfare; Conquests, defenses, and reimbursing your mercenaries for their losses. Instead, corps agreed to not fight eachother just to hold land . They refused to play so they could use the PC ISK like a welfare check to finance other endeavors.
Since PC ISK was not being used to finance PC, its being removed. Thats not my fault. Blame those who colluded to not fight and just collect passive ISK. |

You're being silly. Agreeing not to fight had nothing to do with passive isk and everything to do with the fact we were all tired of fighting the same group of people day in and day out for months.
The inactive, inadequate and scrubby players are entirely to blame for the state of things. They failed to create content.
The irony is staggering. So you guys locked districts and farmed ISK to pubstomp because there wasnt enough of a turn over of competitive players....
...Meanwhile, new players were getting stomped and decided to give up on the game, significantly hurting player retention and ensuring that the top tier of the playerbase would remain stagnant. Therefore ensuring that the future generation of competitive players would be sparse.
You keep trying to put the problem on everyone else. But each time, it leads right back to where I said it did. Just own up and take responsibility for what you guys collectively did; You took advantage of something to the point that you forced CCPs hand into acting.
Dont blame new players who you didnt give time and space to build themselves up, dont blame people who protested the unsustainable status quo, dont blame CCP. Blame those whos actions brought us here today. Blame those who created a problem that needed solving.
lionshead nebula wrote: DAMN YOU POOR STUPID PEOPLE ITS YOUR FAULT FOR OUR SUFFERING!!! (Its creepy how this idea is propagated so easily in the right wing and relevant to the ongoing political and socioeconomical environment in the US)
In all fairness, the U.S. political spectrum is so charged and polarized these days that both sides are host to completely unreasonable rhetoric and ideology. When i say "sense of entitlement", and "welfare check", I dont mean to target anyone of any political learning specifically, as both sides are guilty of it.
The "left wing" wants free stuff for the poor as their "entitlements", and the right wing wants obscene, useless procurement contracts and other big government projects to go to their districts as "entitlements". Whether we are talking about giving a $100 of food stamps to someone who doesnt need them, or building 100s of tanks we never asked for, its abuse of tax money that some people feel they are entitled to.
But im preaching to the choir here. Youre a Goon. From what Im told you guys are good at economics.

Prove it.
Show me the exact relationship and how it is the key issue surrounding player retention. And I'm not talking about bogus political theories, I want actual proof.
I dont have Dev access to the numbers Dust generates. All I got is that out of 10 friends i referred, 0 are still playing, and all gave more or less the same reason as to why they abandoned Dust.
You obviously have some kind of inferiority complex that is magnified by video game success, so you might not understand this, but its equally unfun to be on the side that is doing the stomping. People like a good game. Suppressing the enemy inside their red line makes for an boring match.
When you are a new player, and every match is either "All the enemies are hiding from me in the MCC" or "im hiding from the enemies in the MCC", it makes playing futile and people just play other games. You may not realize this, but the FPS market is saturated. You dont give people a good reason to stay, they wont.

LOL You are into defecating on people? Thats a little extreme, I dont need to hear about that.
