Forge direct damage stays the same and your armour just dropped 40%(give or take) because of modules... Imagine 2 less hardeners? or 1 less plate and 1 less repper? comon...
I will wager that we see the tanker dudes that have been lighting up the forums with HAV power . crying like babies on the very same forum wich they publically displayed their inability to do do simple math within 48 hours of 1.7..

I'm so glad that PRO swarm launchers now do as much as STD swarm launchers At with a 150m lock radii I'm sure that dropship pilots will be able to have lots of fun too knowing that swarms can't lock on if they fly high enough :D
And when ADV and PRO tanks come, I'm gonna jump for joy at how little damage PRO Swarm Launchers will do! We will be invincible.
Now everyone will need a tank to beat a tank, because that's how it should be.

Swarms only do 200 dmg now,reduced from 330 and have range reduced from 400 to 175mts...and you dont see me crying...

Any smart person wouldnt. And honestly if you get a vehicle point SP reset and you put them back into it, then it will be your fault...CCP provided you with the numbers before hand...now its on you..

I'm only level 3 tanker...but I have 20+million SP including level 5 swarms/nades/forge. I know a medium amount about tanking....but I know how to read simple numbers...and you cannot say by looking at the numbers that we "have" that you are OP.
You are loosing alot too, and if your hopeful thats good, but its clear that tanks are taking the same hit as swarms/nades. And to the moment there is no actual number or change to forges..anywhere but DEVS waivering on "looked at" "sameish" nthat means they are going to do nothing to them..if they were they woulda been on the same report as the Swarms! but they werent....1.7 is content locked right now...do you think they told you every number with regards to swarm/tank changes and just left out the forge changes so they can tell you at the last minuite? comon guys

surivability has a lot to do with the squad around you man. And i know some tankers that go all day without loosing a tank..go 25/0...make 3000 wp a match...if you think its fair to make these guys stronger? nobody does exet for the guy who is being greedy....Godin I am speaking about you and void echo with the above statement..you guys are the only people who i actually see in this thread that I recognize from the field as being good. therefore you understand that this is a balancing....they are trying to help junior tankers..and small vehicles...not help you guys stomp more...

that's what I have been advocating for a year now, the new tankers and "juniors" need an incentive to continue with tanks, right now and for as long as I can remember, only the strongest of us can barely survive, everyone else gets annihilated.

It was really 6, but I only battled a max of 4. It was 2 Sags, a Soma, and a Sica, and then the other 2 was Maddy's. I was in a Suyra. Going god mode. Anywys, tr y fighting 3 Gunnlogi's and a Maddy with sleek AV nades and a wiki swarm (no hives, no PE's or RE's), and this is while unknown snipers and a full sq. of assorted Logi's, Heavies, and Assaulters are hunting you down, all while in a Scout suit. I win

but what you don't have is a full list of stats of all the new changes for av weaponry , the only real numbers that can be worked at the present time is tank on tank combat, until ccp releases the full stats for the av changes we are all just guessing , for example the swarms might get not only a damage and range nerf but also a fireing rate nerf with an increased clip size this would lower the dps but make for extended niggling of havs ..........but that's all just guesswork. all you can do as I said is work the tank on tank combat stats.

however me with my proto swarms and 3 complex damage mods profieciency 5 dosent even cause you to really move away....I have spent maybe 3 +million SP just to get that setup and againt you its a waste anyway...

its different when your on the subject of the new tankers coming in... how are we going to keep the class alive when all they do is get destroyed by people like atiim after the 1st 5 seconds they deploy.. basically never allowing them to actually enjoy the tanker class... I don't care about my own tank anymore, I just want the tanker class to survive, and its not going to survive unless the newbies get a reason to stick with the class, and that reason is NOT getting blown up the 1st 5 seconds.

ask around, people will tell you that AV is too easy and not everyone wants it to be a class that every ****** can use, people want fun, people don't want 2 joke classes.
with tanks being buffed (not going to happen) and av being nerfed (not going to happen) balance will finally exist, tanks will be fun to rol with for once, and av will actually have a challenge other than trying to figure out which tower to get on.
and what do you call this situation were in right now? balance? no its not balanced, in fact, balance doesn't exist here, av is far far more powerful than tanks at everything involving vehicles.... that shouldn't be the situation.

Why the hell is an item that costs a lot less SP and ISK ... as effective in AV as a tank? AV is a support role to begin with, it's not the ultimate tank slayer role - there's really no such thing. Do you think we'd need AV nades if 1-2 AV weapons was all a team needed to stop vehicles?

theyv never been equal dumbass, theyv always been on the screwed end of the deal, you would know this if you were here for a year or were actually a tanker. iv also been on both sides, av has no counter argument to balance that I can see, they have their heads far too up in the clouds because of the power theyv had for over a year.

Why do people stack a third damage mod?
Why do people choose scouts?
Small differences make all the difference, and AV makes a much bigger difference then anyone could consider 'small'
And if we're comparing how AV is handled in other games - it's usually accompanied by LMG or suppressive fire-arm.
The list of AV being known as 'support' is probably much bigger then games that consider it a 'main' class. BF and CoD are examples where AV is considered a 'secondary' or even 'equipment' item.
Regardless of all that, it makes no sense consider the cost and effect. Tankers wouldn't have a purpose if they can get pushed back by AV from 1 person spamming proto. It takes almost no SP to get proto Swarms compared to getting a tank to survive 3 shots from one, and this isn't even considering cost.
It's just my opinion - but your idea of how balance works for AV vs Vehicle seems AV biased.
And if you believe AV = Tank in SP cost do the numbers and show me.

I did some maths on this made a whole thread about it, some of my maths was a little off, but basically tanks are gonna work like this!
1) Shield Tanks: Go Hardners or Go Home 2) Armour Tanks: Go plates or Go Home 3) No matter how good a tanker you are, you will get no more than 3-4mins active time per cycle 4) Tanks will still be relatively easy prey without the correct support 5) The tankers who spent their time whining because their tanks too weak (mainly spike) will still do so because they eon't know how to tank with their infantry counterparts. 6) Tankers who saw things from the infantry side (mainly true adamance) will do increasingly well because SL now have to engage from within the theatre of battle in which the tank is involved!
7) Don't expect that much better of draw distance, it reduces redline rail tanking the way it is!

A HAV fight won't last 30 seconds, and I'll have more eHP than that one, so it's not that much more efficient.

Right now I run a cheap pub fit madrugar 80GJ Blaster, 2 carapace hardener, 1 heavy eff rep, 1 pg up, 1 180mm poly
1.7 I can run a fit with 80 GJ Blaster, complex 120mm plate, complex hardener, complex repper
I will loose a bit of max hp, trade my big repper for constant rep HOWEVER AV will do -30% damage
I'm happy

also hybrid tanking will be a thing in 1.7 as a good shield booster will help a maddy tremendously by buffering damage allowing armour reps to do their work, light armour reps and plates might also be used on gunlogis to beef up the tank. 1.7 will bring much more variety in fitting options for the clever tanker and will thusly lead to more interesting engagements where tanks fufill roles like punching through enemy lines to playing point defence , havs will have to be much more specialised in their fittings/roles on the battlefield.

youll get them eventually but when the changes come id advise you to skill both maddy gunlogi core skills because I have a feeling that the ammar tanks are going to be hybrid tanked like the dropsuits.

Very true, but like their comparitive dropsuits dual tanking on shield and armour based tanks won't be as effective! We need mini and amarr dual tanking tanks! But yeah I don't main in tanks and im rather looking forward to the changes!

honestly You have legit numbers im not arguing that anymore... but what you are saying in "the bbigger picture" is that if you have level 5 everything or give up your small turrets then yu will be able to run 3 armour modules..wich makes the tough tanks tougher and the weak tanks weaker which is not balance....which is how i stated this thread...the real concern is is the tankers less than 5million sp.
your fit works but i would never have thought of a variable like not having any small turrets...and your squeezin really close by my math if they adjust anything by even a handfull of points ...

My next point is, I fitted a STD hull with defensive complex modules and only STD offensive modules. I'm looking forward to ADV hull, which can be fitted even better.
Next, level 5 everything is normal for tankers. Tankers with less than 5m SP aren't doing any better today. The increase in power of tanks is exponential with SP .. I can kill 2 tanks with my tank today at once, if they are <5m SP tankers.
Also, small turrets really suck most of the time and now they are an option. Like i said earlier, 1 question is Scanner <-> 2 small blasters. Just take what you want .. I will take the scanner.

Small differences make all the difference, and AV makes a much bigger difference then anyone could consider 'small'
And if we're comparing how AV is handled in other games - it's usually accompanied by LMG or suppressive fire-arm.
The list of AV being known as 'support' is probably much bigger then games that consider it a 'main' class. BF and CoD are examples where AV is considered a 'secondary' or even 'equipment' item.
Regardless of all that, it makes no sense consider the cost and effect. Tankers wouldn't have a purpose if they can get pushed back by AV from 1 person spamming proto. It takes almost no SP to get proto Swarms compared to getting a tank to survive 3 shots from one, and this isn't even considering cost.
It's just my opinion - but your idea of how balance works for AV vs Vehicle seems AV biased.
And if you believe AV = Tank in SP cost do the numbers and show me.

There are many reasons why people want to solo with AV, the main one being the fact that you could rip a tank to shreds and reduce it to a smoldering pile of ash, and just when you are about to fire that last shot, some dumbf*uck with a MLT forge gun fires from out of nowhere and gets ALL the credit, leaving you with a little 75 WP, regardless of how much gear you lost. You don't even want to know how many times this happens.
And again everything must be 100% EQUAL. So yes I think that AV should completely equal the strength and effectiveness of tanks. Considering that tanks can do more than one thing and all my swarms can do is kill tanks, this already doesn't exist.
The new AV nerf renders STD gear worthless (doing only 800hp damage). Now you need to have PRO AV on the field to be useful (even in pairs of three). Thanks to this I can only see things going two ways:
Wirykomi 514:
A tanker's nightmare where everyone has PRO AV and pulls it out immediately to destroy a tank everytime it is called in, meaning that everyone will be lined up with AV before the tank even arrives. And I may not share all the opinions of tankers but I think we can all agree that it would be a living nightmare if everyone in his grandma had PRO AV every match. Nerfed or not.
Tank 514:
An infantry's nightmare where everyone doesn't want to use teamwork and go AV, and new players will skill into basic swarms, find that they only do 800 damage, and decide to become a tanker instead. And everyone will either let themselves become stomped by tanks, or get a tank themselves, leading to everyone and his grandma having a tank. And that would be all we see on the field. Everyone trying to spawn in as fast as possible so that they can get their tank in before the team quota reaches
A balance of Wirykomi and Tank 514 would never happen, especially in a game like this, where FOTM players run rampant and people try to use the best gear and weapons possible. The Flaylock pistol is a perfect example of this.
I wish that people wouldn't flock to something because it's simple better or because it's "easier". But that won't happen.
I may seem biased to people who don't agree with me, but the only thing I want is 100% balance between the two.
Also, I still don't think that AV should be support, It should be an alpha weapon capable of decimating tanks, But that's just my two isklets
Tanks should be the only counter to other tanks.

The only reason- the absolute only reason- HAVs are able to lol through AV currently is due to the bugged armor repper. That gets fixed. All that eHP is worthless without something strong enough to repair it in seconds like it does now.

See aforementioned numbers AV grenades and swarms do against unprotected armor. The only way we can survive even pub games is by putting all the best stuff on it.

Dmg control units offer half of what a hardner does in terms of resistance, but Dmg control units use high slots, meaning that I can boost my EHP while having 10% resistance to both shields and armor, meaning a total of 20% resistance, which adds up quickly
And tell me, am I honestly going to use those high slots for anything but an active scanner? Shield extenders? Please don't.
Funny how I use 400k tanks and typically get a 250-300k payout, meaning that even if I lose my tank I can just play one match without a tank and recover the loss of my tank, with a 1-200k profit at that. And my tank does just fine on the field, and with the use of my tank I have managed to save many other tanks' lives. Making my tank 3x as effective with the price
When you don't give a crap about your high slots, Dmg control units can make a huge difference
Also, what if you poured all of you hard work into your AV, and the tank had about 100hp left and some dumbf*ck with a MLT forge gun was to blow it up and take ALL the credit?

I really don't understand the problem infantry has with not destroying a tank, but merely chasing it away. There's plenty of pilots better at driving than you are at using AV. If all AV was an insta-pop against tanks, do you really think anybody would use tanks? No, but then again, that's the whole end-game of infantry, to have tanks removed. Ask anybody I game with, my raging is legendary. But, I don't get angry when I merely chase away a tank instead of destroying it. You drive it off from pounding your team for a minute or so, that's not enough for you?

Swarms just require no skill at all and have far too much range 400m is just too far the max range on a small turret is 300m so in order for a dropship crew to get kills they have to put themselfs in a kill zone range that they pretty much have no escape from. To really do some damage with a dropship you have to be in the 100-150m range anything higher and youll have to rely on splash damage. As far as swarms on tanks go I think the range and damage nerf is fair there are other ways to kill a tank. A squad of 6 Av players can lay 90 proximity explosives and you could use swarms to get tanks to retreat into those mine fields. You need to use each type of explosive and the best part is they all wont blow up just the tier of that explosive. I place 9 proximity explosives on my own because I need a nanohive. |

I think that you should do what ever works for you within the rules of the game.....honestly you CAN kill a redline sniper or railgun tanks......You just dont want to take the the time out of detroying starter fits to do so. if i go 30/0 with a charge from the redline it means the other team plays very bad...or good as i have seen many of the bigger corps leave me be and take the OBJ
....you guys should just say that you are no good at removing redline snipers..instead of complaining about somebody whos actually job is to shoot yu from far away...if you had a well balanced squad it wouldnt be a problem.

Because not every map is Line Harvest with unassailable towers with a full view of the battlefield and it's not like we magically appear there at the beginning of the match when they do have them . Sometimes you have to move with your squad , moving from cover to cover to find the best point to strike your target and back them up which could even be uncomfortably upclose . Sometimes terrain simply won't be in your favor and you have to make due with what you got . Sometimes you'll have to evac when slayers scan out and swarm your hidey holes .
Whatever the case an AV trooper on the move is when he's at his most vulnerable . And the battlefield is never so static to make "not moving ever " a real option .
No job is worth doing if you don't get paid in the end .

actually...if your such a poor soldier that you would rather complain about redline snipers than kill them thats on you.....I just LOVE when i see a thales in the killfeed........i go get em...not you...you leave battle and complain n the forums.
if they can shoot you .....you can shoot them...(with the exception of some glitches) but even when they are on the mcc.
your continued posts just make you look like a poor player.
my squad says ...**** skippy, theres a damn charge in the redline...i go get em...sometimes it takes longer but i get them...get a damn sniper in your squad and you wont have a problem...thats the game dude....not just the free sniper fit either....spend some SP

He wanted a scenario, I gave him one. As I said before, against some tankers it is enough to drive around a corner and let them hit the wall. Don't even need a tank for this, a Baloch is enough. |

You make lots of assumptions in your arguments
1.) I am a sniper, and I am my own counter-sniper. You won't see me head glitching with a heavy suit holding a Thale
2.) I am not complaining about redline sniping, I'm just static how it's a cheap tactic. Kinda like corps that do nothing but spam Core Locus Grenades on top of PRO triage hives in PC Matches
3.) If you get counter-sniped, 9/10 times it's your own fault. You will almost never find me when I'm sniping. Heck, one time I even spent the entire match sniping directly under an enemy with a Charge
4.) If you don't have an NT-511 by the very least, your doing something wrong. You'd have to be a nut job to use the free sniper fits.
"That's the game dude"? So if I line up 16 corp mates with Freedom Mass Drivers and core locus grenades, on top of Ishukone Nanohives in a dom match and then say "That's the game dude" you would have no problem with that?
If I had my squad mates blow themselves up with Mass Drivers so I can rep them until we have enough points for an orbital strike, it would be perfectly okay because "That's the game dude"?
If you are going to defend cheap "tactics", then you may want to come up with something better than "That's the game dude"

Man ... this is no joke ... I start to think that there is a big difference between matches in EU and NA.
Yesterday: Single queue Skirmish/Domination I end up with 15 blueberries against one Academy Inferno squad + 10 redberries. They got as usual 2 tankers and at least two more of them have Adv AV nades.

What to do now, tell me?
Redline and snipe them both vs waste ISK on trying to go toe on toe against two coordinated tanks w/o help.
I tried the second thing several times, didnt work that good.
