It's total damage dealt by that player. If he hits you with an AV grenade, you back away and recover, repeat umpteen times, you will see those numbers if he ever actually gets you. And it will show 25000 damage received at the end of the match. |

have you ever, ever used a tank? it's ridiculously easy to get up on them if you have even the slightest hint of tactics in your mind when you see it.
I regularly ride on top of an enemy tank while shooting the main gun with a pistol just to annoy the driver. best was one backing into the redline and exploding with me on top of his tank when it happened. I died too, but it was so worth it. |

Not entirely sure, but I think the damage done is given to the one who got the last shot in.
So you were probably being pummeled by forges and swarms for about 5-10 minuets, then decided it was time to casually stroll away to rep your health back and some lucky infantry player chucked an AV nade at you for the finishing blow. Thus rewarding him all the damage everybody else was applying to you. |

It really bothers me when people can't make good comparisons because it usually just leads to me having to explain why an analogy doesn't fit instead of the discussion actually moving forward.
Your tank isn't OHK by an AV grenade, in fact it can survive several. Dropsuits can be killed by one locus grenade. Infantry don't have large turrets that can kill you in 1 second. Contact grenades never disappeared, you can still buy fused and bad-mother-thukkers and use them.
EDIT: oops, thought it said 1,000, not 10,000. That is definitely too much. Might b a typo by CCP. |

That wasn't a single grenade.
Next time you get killed by a AR look at the damage taken. It won't say 35 (or whatever that AR is doing) it'll give you a number in the hundreds.
I don't know exactly how it works but that number is not just the killing blow. |

yeah, only takes 2 guys to deploy, a third to monitor, and needs to be turned off to allow friendly vehicles through the area. it has 4 uses, and someone could just walk up and tip it over.
There is so much similarity, though, right? if you ignore the parts that don't match up, like... uh... most of them. |

Like kill assists, I believe the damage dealt only holds for a certain period of time, then resets.
So for example, if within a very short period of time you got hit by some swarms, forge and were near death, if somebody with an AV nade killed you after taking all that damage, the damage dealt would be lumped together and seemingly done only by the AV nade.
A single AV nade doesn't do 10k damage, based on the AV you showed, the person would have needed to throw 7 of them at you to do around 10k damage (and that's not considering any damage resistance percentages, hardeners or passive skills that may reduce damage dealt by AV). |

Well hello again! I'm sorry to say that you will never get what you want out of HAVs in this game. You see, making HAVs be near invincible irritates people playing infantry, and makes them quit the game after they get stomped by something they aren't able to kill. And there's way more infantry than tankers, so CCP will always side with the infantry crowd, seeing as they make up 95% of Dust's population. Sorry again. |

I lost four tanks today, one to tank PvP (Great match with a guy named Frisky Dingo) and three to AV players and I am now in the red after eight hours of casual gameplay throughout the day. In 2003, When the second gulf war started, the United States deployed over 1,000 M1 Abrams tanks into the middle-east. By 2005, a grand total of 80 had been destroyed, or disabled. Those affected tanks were damaged by multiple attackers using RPG's and IEDs, targeting the sides, and hatches of those vehicles. Concerted effort, not "One dude with a rocket launcher." |

Don't Fly what you can't afford to loose, in your case substitue fly with Drive...
I can head into FW and loose a 30m ISk cruiser or i can head into FW with a Tactical Cruiser worth 3 Billion isk and loose it aswell, sure ill waste more people with the Tactical Cruiser but at some point i will be dead to smaller cheap sh*ts of ships.
Your 800k isk just buys you a few % better performance over your 300k fit, deal with it...
