It's a plasma weapon, so it shots plasma. It shots 12 or 16, if I remember right, separate balls of plasma. The listed damage is per plasma ball that hits, it would be nice if number of balls fired was listed with damage. example: 35x12 damage

Build between E3 and Codex was Precursor. I started in E3 day the merc pack came out. I had beta app in before that but didn't here back about till after I bought merc pack.
Precursor came late August it added varients to some of the weapons...
