I know currently you cannot change them but do you think that May 6th will bring a chance to re-create your toon and keep your SP and stuff? Or am I stuck in my current race forever |

Your momma made you the way you are and for some reason put those "x" in front of your name. Your only option is to biomass yourself.

Race is just cosmetic it won't restrict you in anyway*, though the starter profession may still determine what skills you have at the reset.

There is some kind of new character creator coming, but we have few, if any, details about what it will do with existing characters. |

There are some Minmatar in Amarrian space who'd like to disagree with you.
Fortunately they're too busy being beaten and doing manual labour. |

While I really love IC stuff for EVE and the back story for it, it kind of always makes me laugh when someone comes into a thread about how the racial selection doesn't matter and makes a statement like that.
Kind of pointless from a game play perspective. |

But it doesn-¦t. Unless you-¦re at Factional Warfare, then you get several restrictions of where you can go without being shot and dock. |

Oh I agree with you, I guess I wasn't very specific on my stance. I was just trying to say from a game play perspective that racial selection has almost no effect on game play and that trying to make a IC argument about it is kind of pointless is all, even though I do like IC stuff about EVE.
Even if part of factional warfare, heck my main in EVE is Caldari but part of Gal militia. |

If the new editor allowed one time changes it would be nice. People may not have had the option they wanted, but is now available.
I oppose letting people change things at will, goes against New Eden standards of consequence for actions.
New char creator is like new skill tree, big enough change to make an exception and allow char editing, people choose races and bloodlines not knowing what affect it would have on their appearance, unless they are an eve vet. This seems like enough reason to make exception to me.
Would it be possible to have an exiting char, when first used after new build, go through the creator with old selection pre-selected, but changeable at each step? |

I would defnitly like to be allowed to change my charictor info without having to worry about any assets or SP to be lossed when they make the charictor info have a larger effect but if they were to do that they would need to do a respec along with it (Respec: is when you move all your SP to unalocated, you loose all but your starter skill boks and get refunded for the bought skill books, we get a respec on may 6th and for thoose who don`t understand its nothing to worry about). |

Not true - you can join any faction you have standings with. Being Minmater does not exclude you from fighting for the (evil) Amarr if you have the standings. |

Gallente.
Half of their ships are patterned off of those. Here are a few examples:

I guess that's only natural given their Earthly heritage... |

Coincidentally, the Gallente are also the largest female reproductive systems. That's why they rely on drones so much.

I'd imagine the ship design would be more indicative of over-compensation, leading me to believe the exact opposite. |

Mind you, Intaki females have the most *ahem* advanced female reproductive systems.
It's important, you know, if you might be giving birth to your grandparents to make sure they are... well conceived? |

I always figured that was overcompensation. Insecurity and all that; need for a surrogate. |
