You're wrong. It's not a beta, "most" companies dont take peoples money in a beta. If it was a beta, they would refund our aurum on release and reset the SP (which they said they would do until it was "changed"). The program is available to everyone to download, there will not be ANY SP resets, sure sounds like a soft release to me. If i'm not mistaken the closed beta testers made multiple threads and attempts on irc to let CCP know this game was not ready for open beta. Think I'm wrong? Look at all the "is this it?", "Cant take much more", "wheres the content" posts that multiple open beta testers have been posting. Doesn't matter what you say Ironwolf, you are and always will defend CCP. I would like to know what it will take to open your eyes to the fact your company is letting you down. Even NOVA posted about the turtle's pace of content release and I thought he was CCPs no.1 fan... apparently he is no.2.
It's technically a beta according to CCP. Eve Online is also in a beta even after ten years. |

Consumers/Fans are ultimately the ones that decide if the game is a beta or retail. Companies can say their product is a beta until they are blue in the face just to cover up the lack of progress.
Ive been in this thing for a year, I've seen the snail's pace of development. I've seen the over nerfs/under nerfs/lack of nerfs and the non-extistent content patches. The game is addictive, otherwise I wouldnt have played it for this long, but when is the lack of progress enough?
Making excuses for the pace of development is ridiculous, CCP is a well known company and until previously a highly regarded developer. Gamers all have a touch of ADD, if this game doesnt improve quickly that ADD is going to kick in and they will lose alot of their fan base to the new and shiny game. Destiny, Defiance, whatever the game is it would hold more hope than what I've seen this past year. |

There have been a rather increasing majority of games that go from beta into live without any refunds or resets. Most notorious of such, free to play web browser games and its becomming a very common practice on PC games as well as a 'reward' for beta testers by giving them a head start from those who join after full launch. There have been worse fiascos such as STO's 500$ sub for life which is now a free to play game. As for worse beta's going about? FFXIV which has just re-entered beta after 2 years of being launched and taking money. (though majority of it they where not charging but also no refunds either)
Arguably I agree game is not ready for public, however we have this inconvient thing called we're on a live server now, with 500k other paying players who can talk to us email us and listen to us in our chat channels. NDA though after that is impossible to hold back. Also CCP needs more stress testers and opened up further for it.
I am asking you guys to be patient I am more than asking for you guys to belive that what we have now is not final. If you think what we have now is final for launch build you're going to be mistaken. There are thousands upon thousands of missing planned features and there are a few hundred featuers missing for the launch build.
I may have my high hopes of a mid march build but they're probably going to get crushed again, however its been mostly hinted at there will be a new build by fan fest.
There may come a day where complaints about TOO MANY featuers will drown out our petty complaints about not enough stuff. |

In that case, it still in beta if you're complaining about the lack of features or complaining how incomplete the game feels becuase how they're always adding new stuff.
"Also world of warcraft.... Blizzard I have been waiting 6 years for a new human model, Where the hell are they? you added 5 new races that look so much better than vanillia even gave the story characters newer models that make's everyone else look cartoonish in comparison."
Yeah glacial developers are common... Aliens Colonial Marines 10 years old (and by far one of the worst shooters I've played single player in this generation) Duke Nukem Forever 12 years old and was forcibly removed from the previous developers and it has less features than this game almost (though as a shooter nukem has a few more but not incredibly so) |

What works in the PC market doesn't always translate well in the console market. That is what CCP is failing to realize. Like CCP failing to realize that console gamers view betas as demos. I've said this many times. I personally have friends that tried DUST, and one of them is a huge FPS fan.
Dude tried it for 2 days, said it was garbage, and moved on. The game wasn't ready for OB, cuz like i said above, beta = demo for console gamers.
PC Market =/= Console market

I didn't mean to pool up all the console gamers in there when I generalized it...my bad.
I meant most console gamers think betas are demos cuz of games like BF, KZ, Crysis etc. In reality they were more like demos than an actual beta. |

Agreed. Let's also not forget halo has some bugs that are apparent in multiplayer that should have been fixed almost a decade ago yet they are still there. How often do you see your Ghost get glitch-propelled out of the map and see your body fly off into the netherworld? What about seeing your corpse dance like a zombie? |

But there is nothing they really can do about that . The only thing they CAN do is continue to build on the game. If people leave ....then they leave . Doesn't stop them from coming back later .Our job is to give feedback the devs can build on so there is something for them to come back too . |

Dust 514 barely has all the features its planning to have over the next 10 years. This isnt like mass effect which most of the DLC stuff was already or mostly on disk and you bought access to that part of the disk whent he clock is right to give players reason to keep comming back months after release.
In dust 514's case majority of the assests are not constructed yet, not existent yet, and not even thought about yet.
I know there is a large amount of furstation at the rate of development, on the flip side the developers are wishing for more time, deadlines are fast approaching and they're been in busy mode ever since getting on TQ. Just being on TQ probably ate so many resources and time it is very hard to conceive how much effort it took to make that possible.
After all Dust 514 is a very very special Eve Online Client with different skin and display engine. I hope you realize that the other 99.9% percent of us want real game to play. You treat dust like an academic exercise to further your college education. You being a CCP loving fanboi spends more time worrying about iteriation 5 of the cpm0 circle jerk then you do about playing the game. Stop making excuses for ccp. If I am paying for a game it has to be more then the **** the ccp has given us now. If my aurum was refundable they I would go back to being optimistic. Since ccp has our money now they seem to have little incentive to deliver. 7 weeks on TQ and nothing new and almost 3 months since last crap build that barely fixed anything, worse maps, no new content. Trust me if the next build is **** Ill be banned in short order. To many good games coming out to waste any more time or money on this. Maybe people like you need to quit the beta then. Its obviously not healthy for you. Then the simple fact you're trying to play this game as a gamer and not a tester is not helping the game development, telling me to play more? How about you test more? I am testing more than you are at least. Right now I am investigating loss of modules when you get revived and seeing if its possible to lose modules outside the battlefield. Go ahead ***** and whine about balance issues, thats something you have access and I wont for years with the skill points the way the are. I am tracking down bugs and stomping them. I do community work where I can becuase I am away from my ps3 most of the day and its the only thing I can do while away. If it means answering question in local on how to play, commenting on live streams on helping out the player figure the game out, pointing players to where they can join corps, point them on helping file petitions and where to file and how to file them, submitting bug reports, answering player questions on the forums, brining off site news to this site when the community devs miss out a bit. I would like to play more but I have college to attend to and things to do in real life that need not concern you either scrub. Its a beta, its in testing, its not done, wtf do you expect? eve online?
Listen up *****. CCP may call this game a beta but as long as they take my money its a ******* REAL GAME. Only a nieve brainwashed fanboi like yourself can't see that.
There are a lot of people that contrbute to this community not just your self fanboi. Don't expect some sort of "oh he looks for bugs, we should listen to him" bullshit to ride.
All you ever ******* do is blindly defend ccp. Stop trying to get a job with them and play the game for what it is and tell the truth. I have high expectations for the next build. If ccp fails then I and many other players wont care because we will be playing something else.
Then you will have a new batch of players to say "O well it was just released. What do you expect?" Then a year later "Game is only a year old. Eve was bad still 1 year in and look how far it has come"

Eve was bad still 1 year in and look how far it has come" Just a heads up, there have been plenty of unreleased games that cost money. Remember that last NFS demo that cost like 20 bucks? Or Dissidia 012: Duodiecium Prologus? And how about the Planetside 2 beta last year? This scene look familiar? And the money you spent here was voluntary, not necessary for you to get to play. If you regret your purchases, that's your fault for spending your money on an unfinished product, not CCP's.
Also, you are getting far to excited over this. Let it play out. If you want to leave, then leave. No one is twisting your arm here. Leave and come back when you feel it's lived up to your expectations if it ever does, but don't blast others for having faith in CCP just because you feel you were let down. YOU are the one keeping you here, go play COD since you feel it's so "epic from the start". Go play Planetside 2. Play BF. Hell, play ANYTHING ELSE, but unless you are going to be constructive, quit mucking up the forum with pointless whining about how bad the game is and how slow it's progressing even though you spent money on it. That does absolutely nothing to help things along here. You want it to progress faster? Maybe quit starting arguments like this so we can have constructive conversations without getting distracted by this kind of BS. |

This isn't a distraction. It's the truth. There are things that haven't been fixed in over a year and we certainly didnt get more features in return. If you fanbois have a strategy of telling people to just go away and stop playing your game, you'll soon be the only ones left |

Do not insult my intelligence. I'm also a console player and I view betas as betas, not as demos. But sadly you are correct that a lot of console players view betas as demos. Those kind of players are wrong and misguided.
BTW the oldest bug in halo is still there AFTER 11 YEARS, 11 YEARs!!!!
bug Description
Minding my own business in a vehicle then 'blink' Im on the other side fo the map flying the speed of light right into the wall or into space.
confirmed still in halo 4, its been there since halo 1. (the only vehicle not confirmed to do this with is the mantis.) |

I contribute constructively all the time. Check my threads before you open your mouth kid
If you pay ******* attention to any or all of IWS posts he is the one that shows up and bashes people that create threads. Its not the other way around. If someone has issue with CCP he swoops in as super CCP fanboi to say "Its just a beta". How is that constructive? It's not if you are being honest.
So its not me that starts **** with iws and is CCP fanboi-ness. He sucks as this game and spends his free time in an academic circle jerk theory crafing dust **** no one cares about. I'm just here to call him out on it.
The reason I mention "paying for beta" is CCP themselves said (and I paraphrase as i dont have quote on my pc) that "no one should pay for a beta". So CCP assured us we would get aurum refunds until go live. Devs on irc told us "its not a offical release" or "it's not full release". When we moved to TQ there was no aurum discussion or notice from CCP. All they said was no more resets. Resets always had to do with sp never aurum. Once ccp got called on it what did they do? no public statement or dust forum post. They simply changed the wording of purchase agreement after the fact.

Once ccp got called on it what did they do? no public statement or dust forum post. They simply changed the wording of purchase agreement after the fact. Yes, you have had plenty of constructive posts over the last several months. You are also contributing to threads that do nothing to progress the game. Discussing how bad a beta is doesn't do a thing to improve it. To improve the game, all you can do is post constructive posts and wait. If you don't want to wait, that's not CCP's fault.
IWS does pop up to remind people it's a beta quite often. Because people keep making threads like this that do nothing to try to improve it. Threads like this draw people away from threads that are actually attempting to submit ideas to improve the beta. It is distracting away from people actually trying to fix things. It may not be constructive when IWS posts that it is a beta, but at least he only does it when a thread is derailing into a pit of "this game isn't as good as it's supposed to be, QQ, QQ, QQ"
CCP has been bad at alerting us to changes that they make, but continuing to complain about it weeks and months after it was done doesn't help anything.
If you want the game to be good, don't QQ about it. Try to fix it with constructive posts. Every QQ post you put up is one more distraction from the constructive posts you have put up. You want the game to get better? Quit making people waste their time by responding to your whining when they could be coming up with ideas to fix existing issues. |

Exactly. They call it "release" when it's convenient for them, and they call it "beta" when that is more convenient. So which is it? Is this the release and thus, we don't get our Aurum back but should feel comfortable complaining about a released game that is barely playable, or is it a beta and they owe us another repayment of our AUR purchases? They talk out of both sides of their mouths (on the rare occassion that they say anything at all). |

Battlefield has had 5 major content expansions over the last year. All brought new game modes, new maps, and several had new weapons and vehicles. DUST wishes they could be on Battlefield's level.
Mind you, the only reason I'm still here is faith in the vision, but I badly need to see some proof on the ability to execute. |

Basically, the ONLY productive thing anyone can do right now is urge CCP to release some new content. We've been playing with this same basic build for so long that it's ridiculous to assume that there is anything left to say beyond "this game is getting a terrilble reputation for languishing for months and months on end in a barely playable state".
Since the last REAL update was what... 6-8 months ago at this point, how could our input possibly be of any use to CCP at this point? What else is there to say other than "we're bored" and "the general public is getting an AWFUL first impression"? |
