Battlefield has had 5 major content expansions over the last year. All brought new game modes, new maps, and several had new weapons and vehicles. DUST wishes they could be on Battlefield's level.
Mind you, the only reason I'm still here is faith in the vision, but I badly need to see some proof on the ability to execute. |

CoD is priced cheaper! Assuming you only buy a merc pack every month, and you buy CoD with "Elite" or "Season Pass", you actually spent more on DUST. A LOT more in fact. |

So far, I've spent a total of $0.00 on DUST while still having full access to it's content. Is CoD still cheaper?
My assumption is the "paying" customer is going to have every perk plugged in. That means the 30 day active, 4 7 day passives, and a 30 day UVT. If you purchase those things with ISK in the future, someone else merely paid for you. My assumption is not arbitrary, it is the "subscribed" player before even touching early access and vanity items. People who pay nothing and don't trade for AUR items can be seen as player controlled NPCs. |

DUST is released. Sorry to burst your bubble. |

Non paying customers are content for the paying customers. Welcome to the F2P business model. |

Except any F2P player can be just as good, or even better than a P2P player. The only difference between the two is that one can get his/her hands on stuff faster, so there isn't really a difference. So your argument sort of falls flat on its face.
It doesn't matter if the game is balanced. As a non-paying player you are considered content for the paying customer. It's that simple. Someone who doesn't make a business transaction is not a customer. |

"Game has missed it's window" <--- what window?
"They tried to do too much" <--- on the contrary, some of us are saying they haven't done enough.
"End of ps3 life cycle " <--- like that really matters. Not a lot of us will dump our PS3s just because a new one came out. What are we, Apple fanatics?
Now I'm just sad
The 2012 window (remember the joint marketing with the bundle in new PS3s?)
This is just saying they spread themselves too thin promising the sky and the moon and what they delivered is an incoherent mess. Think about it - if you picked up DUST and had seen no marketing video's hyping the persistent universe with EVE, what would the current DUST look like to you? A generic, tiny lobby shooter.
It's hard to have steady growth when the install base is on steady decline. They have to go native PS4 year one or the game has no chance. Also, upgrading a system every decade is hardly Apple level "upgraditis" syndrome. |

JAG ONE wrote:Hey guys. Old time beta tester here.. left last summer when the game started going down hill. I thought I would come back to see how the game is progressing, and this thread pretty much sums things up for me. Nice to see some of you old timers still here.. beers, noc, cyn.. had a blast playing with you guys back in the day.
I once had great expectations for this game, but lost faith in CCP's ability to deliver.. I'm amazed you guys have hung in there this long.. LOL
Guess I'll download the game to see what's new, but I'm not very optimistic from what I'm reading here..
The maps have gotten smaller, there is no more attacking/defending, and militia gear is 90% as effective as proto. That's the list of changes since last summer. |
