My prediction is catastrophic let down. I'm basing my opinion on the releases of the past year and yours is based on dreams.

Battlefield has had 5 major content expansions over the last year. All brought new game modes, new maps, and several had new weapons and vehicles. DUST wishes they could be on Battlefield's level.

Mind you, the only reason I'm still here is faith in the vision, but I badly need to see some proof on the ability to execute.

My assumption is the "paying" customer is going to have every perk plugged in. That means the 30 day active, 4 7 day passives, and a 30 day UVT. If you purchase those things with ISK in the future, someone else merely paid for you. My assumption is not arbitrary, it is the "subscribed" player before even touching early access and vanity items. People who pay nothing and don't trade for AUR items can be seen as player controlled NPCs.

In the GNN Live Stream, CCP stated that between each build we would have to wait approximately 3 to 6 months. Personally, I find this rather discouraging. I feel that if the next build is mediocre then I will have to come to the daunting conclusion that I will have to wait 3-6 months for some real improvements. These new build are either going to make or break the game.

Now before I get picked a part by the masses, let me first explain that the above comes from my experiences of playing Dust over the last year. I'm a Vet of Vets you could say. I witnessed the Insta pop Sleek AV's that would kill everyone in a 25m radius and the dumb-fire swarm launchers from hell. I remember the great Dancing Ritual we would partake in 1v1s. Moreover, before my very eyes I saw the Rise of The God Tanks. I raged at the dreaded Space Tamsen (Breach AR) and C4s from space (REs). I was here for the Second Coming of Tanks with Missiles. Cringed when the drop-ship + Missile turret became a AC130. In all, Progress has been made, but at a very slow pace.

Now I'm not saying I know more about Dust then anyone else. I am just making a personal deduction on my past experiences regarding the rate of progress

My argument is this,

Given the past progression of each new build, I feel very discouraged that I will have to wait longer now for what I believe will be the same rate of progress.

Argue all you want on what Dust can become, but remember this, Merit is based on what has been done not what can be done.

That being said, based on my experience with DUST I do not feel very optimistic to this 3-6 month wait.

Except any F2P player can be just as good, or even better than a P2P player. The only difference between the two is that one can get his/her hands on stuff faster, so there isn't really a difference.

It doesn't matter if the game is balanced. As a non-paying player you are considered content for the paying customer. It's that simple. Someone who doesn't make a business transaction is not a customer.

Talk is cheap and frankly that's all i heard about this game pretty much. Ive done my best to put on my best face for the escapist feed but you can hear it in there voices that the impression this game is giving is weak.


Now that said this is make or break for the current player population, maybe not the game but definitely this player population.

That said this base is the primary PSN community of fpser and live streams and content producers. If they go this game will likely hobble on along with a revolving door of 1-2 week cycle new players and thats about it.

So here this works now, 4.2.13 is the release date of Defiance, a game that former CCP devs have worked on. I've seen gameplay from a PC friend during beta test, i can tell you it plays well. Its not graphically astonishing by any means but compared to Dust in its current form its better. The game will attract a lot of players just because of the idea that it will influence a tv show and the show will influence the game.

It has both PVP and PVE and coop and MMO all ready to go. It has XP boosters that you can get in special editions which suggest you can buy those in market. Additionally it has DLC slated to come this year to expand the content.

All this will be out 4.2.13. So if this next build isn't "game" changing you will see a lot migrate over to that while they wait on GTA V, Last of Us, and a host of other games "cough" Destiny "cough" to keep us busy.

Yes maybe Dust will survive without us but you will never have the FPS talent to do the things EVE pilots really want us to do soooo.

Balls in your court CCP... now get err done or face the possibility of some very unhappy investors(I mean the corporate ones, not us).

Its offical you should never post again fanboi. COD is epic from day one. Dust has been nothing but trash over the last year. the rate of improvement is a joke. The content and game play is nothing more then tragic.

If dust isn't an entirely new game and fast there wont be any left in dust but goons
