Let me shine some light here and hope I don't get in trouble for it.

CCP contacted Shad over this because they simply felt like he could handle things the best. It's not fair - it's not even well thought out. If they really just wanted shad involved they should of joint project it.

Shad's not unreasonable I'm sure we can come to some kind of agreement to appease everyone. It's not really that big of a deal for me as I am it is for most - but for you guys involved it would be. So let me help out. CCP just wanted to do something cool and just went about it wrong - AGAIN.

Actually this was a much needed publicly shown discussion, as much as you want this to remain in the shadows of New Eden. I understand why you didn't want to have this dirty laundry about your leader shown around, but we as players all make mistakes even the mighty Zion is not perfect.

I'm sort of confused by this post. Other then not showing up for the event - what did Zionshad do wrong? Not immediately go running to the imperfects about the deal CCP should of offered themselves?

Shad was open and cool with me about the situation and asked if I wanted to participate and help out on Saturday, which I can't since I will be out and about that day.

Whatever happens the Dust OB event will be occurring this Saturday and will be hosted by CSM 7 member Hans aka Heinrich on Dust (who specializes in Faction Warfare). Shad is welcome to use his support from CCP to bolster the event. Once/if I've have gotten an answer regarding the prizes I was going to offer I'll post that up.

I dont think this was a malicious action. I've had nothing but good conversations with the Devs and GMs with any issues regarding the orbital stuff (including working with CCP so they knew system picks well ahead of time so they could track the data). I think was just a mis communication and misunderstanding.

I didn't run the OB stuff by myself. Mobius came up with the idea to create a Orbital Bombardment centered channel. I just ended up being the one who made it and it snowballed from there. That became Dust OB and then OB events followed. Tons have people have helped me keep it going along the way (shout out to Jaiden, Daniel, Corvo, Hans, Beers, D3LTA Superman, the list goes on).I wanted to pass it off to the community because I knew my corp tag could get in the way of making this something even bigger and last for years down the road. The EVE/Dust connection is what sells this game!

Everyone in this Beta has worked hard to make this game work and better. From the wall of text posters to the QQ'ers. As beta testers we have put countless hours testing the game to help make it what it is today and what it will be in the future. That is ours to own, but also make us responsible for breaking whatever code when can, exploit any weapon possible 'till its fix, and presenting and pimping this game to the wider community outside the beta to ensure it's success. It doesn't matter how we get down that path. The only thing is at the end of the day this game kicks the **** out of every other FPS and makes a real impact on New Eden that drives people to our ranks as Dusters.

CCP however should be put on notice for this. CCP should know better as it has a record against it for Developer misconduct. What we should decide is if this issue warrants a petition to be passed on to CCP's internal affairs division.

Honestly, I'd be in support of requesting this. Considering Kain has been trying to contact them over it, and then they turn around and try to hand off endorsement to someone else? Yeah, something doesn't sit right at all with me about it.

Clearly Dust needs CCP's internal affairs providing more oversight as they may as of yet not even be mandated to watch Dust as well as EVE.

If i may say: I haven't commentated anywhere so far, and i just read the whole thread. My final opnion, coming as a tester, not a Zionite::

1. This is a HUGE misunderstanding
2. If Kains is okay, and multiple of the Imps are okay, and Zion is calling for peace, along with all the others caught in between, it may be time to end this. If the sources are over it, shouldn't all the others finally shut up and stop arguing? Everyone with a bit of sense has already asked for peace.
3. Zion's side of the story, svp.
4. It is a game. While there may be some annoying and frustrating occurrences, keep in mind, this is a game. Treat it as such.
5. It has been a long beta. We are irritated. CCP is irritated. Everyone is going nuts, and we are sick of each other. Open beta should give us more fresh air to chill out. Not much longer until the game goes live. Can we hold together?

Honestly, Shad, I wasn't paying attention to the gravity of what you were telling me. I was too focused on my charity stream and then work this morning. I'll take any Dust event or happening and try to combine it with other things folks are doing in the community to focus people and make the end event even bigger.

We have plans to contact other CEOs of DUST corps to promote dust in other ways, we just don't have the manpower to process dozens of events all at the same time, and so we will need to pace this out over weeks. It just so happens that Zion was the first CEO we contacted. So fear not, we have plans for other leaders of DUST corporations and get others involved.

ZionTCD has already been actively taking contracts with Eve Corps to take Systems/Planets

Never knew what Kain sent that mail to CCP. Now it brings me back to working together. That way there is communication, but its over now.

If by taking System/Planets you mean intentionally exploiting the system so that Zion TCD can flip systems without any fighting due to the current unfinished nature of the Faction Warfare system then I guess you are right. Zion TCD doesn't want good fights they want to game the system. Mentality's like this will kill the game. No one will play a fps where the main goal is to duck battles and not actually fight.

Unfortunately, that much is true about FW being broken as it is. Shad just wanted to force CCPs hand to fix this as soon as possible.

One way of doing this is to actually take advantage of it by contacting Eve Corps to play their part in it. It might not be the best way to do it but it seems to be the most effective in the shortest amount of time.

You assume this is directly related to the event that imperfects were doing and not to the overall community activity in the bloody game. Tunnelvision. Drop it. Look at the bigger picture maybe? Players play game. Community team covers their activity. Not always individual events all the time. If they want to make video to highlight community and include major corps in it whats the problem with that?

I appreciate the reply Cmdr Wang. I remember when you stopped by the "Dust OB" channel to listen in on what was going on. It really helped create a good bit of buzz to get the ball rolling.

I guess the main reason I'm upset with the situation was because the request for the event I filed to CCP and is under review is almost exactly the same as what was requested of Zion Shad.

The contest will be for the best recorded footage of the event and the only requirement for entry is submission of a recording of the event. I am working with a friend of mine who programs an ips/ids device, adds vulnerability detection and maintains build systems for IBM to create a straightforward system for players to get me the footage. Once I receive the entries I will review them and pick the best EVE side footage and Dust side footage.

Since there is currently no way to transfer money from EvE to dust I was considering using a PSN Voucher for the Gurista saga as a prize (and hopefully get a EU Dust PSN voucher donated to me from an EU player, so I could use it incase the contest winner is from EU).

The purpose of the contest is to increase participation and interest in the event and also create a pool of videos that can then be edited together and use to advertise future community Orbital Bombardment events. I would also like to make this footage available to CCP for internal and potential promotional use if there is any interest there.

Also, If CCP Frame or CCP Nullarbor would like to know the Amarr/Minmatar system pick (ZionShad is picking the Gallente/Caldari one) ahead of time on the off chance dedicating a node is necessary please let me know. I'm currently working with Hans Jagerblitzen to narrow the pick down to three systems for me to then pick one from.

I judge people based on how they present themselves. This thread is a pretty good example of Immortals starting a witch hunt over a non issue, not exactly a productive diversion for the beta community. I don't know anything about Kain, all I know is how much of a deal he is making over this. From how they are representing themselves on the forums they are much more interested in getting proper 'credit' and trying to shun other players, over helping the Dust community grow. If they want to run an event, just make an event.

it makes me laugh that they are promoting them self as advocates of the community.

i remember imperfects for what they were and still are. in the beginning of this game they had no intentions of test anything. they trolled and grief'd people were dead against balancing and game issues. every other post was "QQ" "scrub" "but hurt" "get good" and so on.

now in the last 4 weeks they have done a OB test WOW! let me get a frickin chair!.

yet ZTCD have fully participated in player and CCP run testing events to our fullest actively encourage, pro-active criticised and suggestions on topics. Tested the game to the best of our abilities.

Imperfects will tell you the did to with the old "sp farming framing from LAV's" that got them into proto gear in....... 10 days was it?

Tbh if your supprised. Then your not connected to the community as u should be. Which is not your falt but the gms should have jumped on this far faster. The overridding feeling people have is that ccp is showing favoritetism to a corp which has been an issue with ccp in the past. Its just in this case we happen to have beers who uses nukes to cut the grass :-P. Put another way this was the straw that broke the cammals back
