Just my 2 iskies.
I think CCP contacted Shad due to the fact that ZionTCD has already been actively taking contracts with Eve Corps to take Systems/Planets for the different factions. It just so happened that Shad thought that maybe Kain would like to help out which is why he contacted him.
And this is in no way to downplay Kain's huge role in garnering attention and support for his events. I believe both events by Kain & Shad, while related, are actually unique agendas for CCP and that should both equally be given their undivided attention.
As Cmdr Wang mentioned, they will also contact Kain & the Imperfects and it just so happened that Shad was contacted first. |

If we all just take a step back and look at the big picture.
CCP wants to create promotional material to highlight Eve & Dust514 interaction.
Think about it. Will there be enough material for CCP to use if only one group (Imperfects or ZionTCD) were to submit their videos ? NO!
CCP already knew that Kain & company are on it. They wanted to gather more, which is why they started contacting other groups, starting with Shad & ZionTCD.
There is no conspiracy or cover up here. No thunder being stolen.
Relax people.

Unfortunately, that much is true about FW being broken as it is. Shad just wanted to force CCPs hand to fix this as soon as possible. One way of doing this is to actually take advantage of it by contacting Eve Corps to play their part in it. It might not be the best way to do it but it seems to be the most effective in the shortest amount of time.
That being said, it doesn't change the fact that it put ZionTCD in the crosshairs when it comes to Eve & Dust interaction. Which is what CCP is currently looking for. |

They knew Kain was already doing it, so while CCP should have replied to Kain and given him their support sooner, I guess it just wasn't #1 on the list or maybe was given to a different person to handle who just haven't gotten around to doing it yet. |
