I don't think that has anything to do with you "buying the future". Nor does it have anything to do with Dust on the PS3 or the microtransactions therein.
I will say though, that to imagine Legion will come to the PS4 is pretty foolhardy. If CCP even had the slightest intent to do so, they would have mentioned it as part of the keynote. Instead, they said "PC". I think that's pretty definitive personally. Logically, also, a move to the PS4 would be unlikely, and I can go in to reasons if you like, but how about instead, we stick to the topic at hand - non-existent theft.
CCP has actually said that PS4 port is not out of the question, just that for now, they want to focus on the PC for development.
But fair enough, non existent theft it is.

I spent 30$ on this game so no big deal to me. I feel bad for people i know that always buy the boosters and such knowing that the game is most likely on the way to just being phased out. For me the game was worth 30$ and its funny because i still have a few thousand aurum because i cant buy anything worthwhile with it. |

Excuse me, what?
I am clearly stating my reasoning for buying AUR. And now your saying that I'm... making things up?????? What am I making up exactly? My own reasonings for doing things?
We were mislead. Period. They should not of put Omega on sale when they plan to announce Dust 2.0 on a different platform. Dust continuing as a 'Low Resource Project" meant the same to most of us as if it was a doomed project, which it quite literally means until CCP can pull resources from another project back onto Dust. Which means the cancellation of another project or expansion of CCP *Not likely*
Anyone who has words of defense for CCP against me gets slammed. Get used to it scrub.

If you can't figure out what I mean by "for the future" you have not been around here long.
It means I bought AUR thinking I was advancing a character in a game with a future.
Guess what?
No future.

Here's how it works, buddy :)
You can buy a car to drive to the moon, but that doesn't mean the car manufacturer stole from you when you realize it isn't going to get you to the moon.
The way they work things like this out in the real world, where adults live, is by having a contract, or a buyer/seller agreement. This way buyers can protect themselves, and so can sellers by being very clear about what is being purchased and the liability therein. If you don't choose to read such things, and continue to imagine that that car, er Aurum, is going to get you to the moon, you have no one to blame but yourself. Especially when someone like me comes here and reminds you that the Aurum you bought is still just as functional as it was two weeks ago.
You lost nothing but your fantasy about what you bought. I know that hurts, but you'll get over it.

Sure thing, bye then.
I honestly told you that you have honestly not had any theft take place regarding CCP, Aurum or Dust. Go get your refund if you think it has. I'm sure they'll present you with the agreement that you obviously never read.
Oh, and that beta comment was just to give you a little friendly jab.
I don't disparage you for feeling upset, but feeling upset and accusing someone, or a company, of theft are two different things. One is reasonable, the other is ... not wise. |

Amazing!
And that analogy you found too, I'm gonna have to ctrl-c that crap. Awesome.
But you're wrong. Not everything is so black and white.
Here's an example, in the produce business (fruits and veggies), farmers sell their product to distributors, and these distributors sell these to stores (and other distributors, for reasons), if some store owner got the notion that he could just bypass this distributor and get his stuff from the farmer for a better price, the farmer might even take the deal because farming isn't easy. But the store could never, ever do that. Why not? It's legal.
Because all distributors would stop working with him, and he would have a empty store. Distributors as a whole would be forced to stop working with the guy, because is damaging their business as a whole, even if he technically isn't breaking any laws or written agreements.
There's no law saying you have to be nice to the people who cook your food either, but I personally prefer my food spit-free, and it seems like a very small price to pay. |

Interesting, but flawed. First off, let me be clear - I'm nice to reasonable people, especially those working with food I'm about to eat. Second, there are laws against spitting in someone's food. Also, there are many other reasons that the store-farmer direct buy wouldn't work. That's a pretty big red herring. I will say though, that I accept what you're trying to say in principle - there's more to a transaction that what is legally agreed to, however, let's remind ourselves that when someone bought microtransactions from CCP there was a specific terms and conditions document that was presented to said buyer, and that document's purpose is to limit liability.
None of that changes the fact that the OP bought microtransactional goods while thinking he was making a capital investment. That isn't CCP's fault.

If you read back I clearly stated this a few times. It's a scam to say 10 year plan + PS3 LASER FOCUS - then sell omega boosters a week before announcing Dust is being put as a low resourced project. It's incredibly misleading and at any point they could of announced on the forums Dust was being put on low resource management - they didn't.
That, is a scam. Even if unintentional.

It is impossible, by definition, to scam accidentally. Here's the definition for reference:
scam (sk-âm) Slang n. A fraudulent business scheme; a swindle. tr.v. scammed, scam-+ming, scams To defraud; swindle.
So no, yet again, you were not swindled, defrauded, scammed, lied to or stolen from. Again, CCP has obviously failed to met your expectations, but that is all. Also, certainly it's OK to be upset about that, but throwing out baseless accusations doesn't help your case. I hope it makes you feel better though.

... on second thought, don't bother. You don't know what you're talking about. My store buys directly from farmers all the time, we just didn't steal any of them from our distributors.
The short of it is CCP sold our goodwill for chump change, because we are just stupid console users. Before they did that they were my heroes, now I will do everything I can to draw attention to their bs.
They lied to us for months telling us that they were advancing the game, because they knew a handful would consider all this a betrayal and stop paying money. The really sad thing is, that I wouldn't have, if they had treated me with respect and let me know as soon as they made that decision, not milked me for more cash. Whatever money they earned from the Dust 514 players too smart or too stubborn to follow their trail of bullcrap to their next empty promise is not worth the respect they lost from me. Don't bother telling me that I'm wrong in that, I have lots of time left to prove it with my actions.
I was loyal fan for life, but I can hold my grudges even longer. |

And yet you continue to use distributors. That's kinda my implied point. You're right, my knowledge of the produce industry is indirect. I have only had in-business relations with a few companies in the produce business, and they're all distributors. But even I know that buying directly from farmers isn't going to solve a store's entire needs due to locality, seasons, volumes etc. I believe that the fact that you continue to deal with distributors speaks to this truth.
So in other words, the reason you continue to use distributors is because they provide a valuable service for your store.
As I mentioned in my first post, I agreed with you in principle, just not the actual validity of your example. your example, really has no merit relative to a microtransaction distributed over the internet with an accompanying T&C document. Now, that is something I know a lot about though. Your distribution example would be more relevant if we were discussing the role of Sony regarding the microtransactions, but we aren't we're discussing whether or not the OP was stolen from. Which he wasn't. |

EVE over the last 8 years: probably a hole lot more
