If they can't accomplish Dust on PS3 then I have to accept it. I have no problem in switching to PC to finally see the game I was always waiting for. But I don't want to see the progress I made with my char during the last year to be in vain. I don't want to see the money I spent on Dust to turn into nothing because my character and his BPOs don't carry over. I don't want that to become nothing. I don't want to start at Zero again in Legion even though it's basically Dust 2.0. Or what Dust 2.0 should've been.

What do you need to clarify, instead of using your resources to add more to Dust like a player market, new vehicles, new game modes, and PVE, all of which would of definitely have been possible through iteration, you decided to use your resources to start over and on a platform that is inaccessible to a very large portion of the Dust community.
What can you really do now?

if legion was just a prototype, an idea then why make it the focal point of the "dust" keynote and "dust" progression? Furthermore, it seems that many game articles and magazines are reporting that there will be no more major development for dust. If that's the case, then why should the community not give up on the game? it's certainly feel that the developers have given up on the game.

Not only is CCP setting a precedent over console product development with a connection between platforms. It also sets precedents of its corporate ethics, endeavors, misguiding information and advertisement.
A stain that might be difficult to erase.

I don't even care if we cant transfer our characters. BUT only PC. NOT PS4. a lot of us dusters only use consoles because its easy to access and straight forward, no messing about.
truth be told it does look good, but im only interested if its on PS4. hopefully CCP cant announce it for PS4, cos SONY have plans for E3 announcement

Honestly CCP, just tell us you're true feelings already instead of tiptoeing around it.
You had a vision.
You tried it on the PS3.
Clearly it failed.
You still have that vision but now are going to PC.
Fine, great, good for you guys. But for God's sake, don't try and say "Well, we'll still support PS3." when all you really wanna do is make Legion. Splitting your dev team will make what could be your vision, Legion, into Dust 514 2.0 (ie, a terrible game that you'll ditch for the one game you haven't completely ruined: EVE). |

Alot of people who never bought things in free to play games (like me) bought to support my fave game company, same reason I have more eve accounts open then I need, because rl money is not an issue (so why not when it goes to support ccp)
Its alot more about ccp practices leading up to this then the fact that they had to move on from the ps3, Its dishonest greed pure and simple.
Its major disrespect, and while I dont care about money I do care about respect.

You have a console but not a computer? wtf do you live in, a cave? Besides, unlike console games computer games can be played on a WIDE range of computers, including that ****** laptop you probably have lying around somewhere. Legion means that
dust could expand into a better game and not be restricted by the decade old ps3's hardware.

Who the FRAK cares about clarification about Legion, where's the information on DUST?
You hyped up FF by stating "world first hands-on with the next major evolution of DUST", then didn't show a single thing about DUST at FF.
You used the DUST KEYNOTE (as well as all the other presentations as well) to show of an entirely different game (per CCP Logibro) with no connection to DUST whatsoever. Not even that, but since Legion is a different game it's not a major evolution of DUST, which means you actually lied about showing the "next major evolution of DUST".
Litterally ZERO DUST information was given at FF.
Furthermore it is pretty clear to everyone that you only intend to keep DUST running as long as you can before moving all resources onto Legion instead. You have no desire to actually keep developing for DUST, which is just a big middle finger to all it's players.
Good luck with Legion. You will need it as it's still going to be the same devs at your terrible Shanghai studio running it.
Edit: Not to mention you robbing people in the past months with all these bait and switch SP events.

I was hyped for the DUST514 keynote. I wanted to see what is happening to DUST514. New content, player market, PC2.0, etc.
But all I got was a ****** Pyrex video and a tech demo of a game that is not DUST514 and that is not gonna come out any time soon...

Considering that the games look exactly the same and that they used the dust keynote I'll assume that this is the next dust build, lol. Just renamed to get clients back (I don't think they give a damn about losing 2k dust players when they can get multiple thousands back)

I agree with just about every sentiment so far.
You guys have been promising us the same stuff you are now putting into a new game for the past 2+ years. Some of us have stuck with you as a loyal player in hopes to see what we have been promised, what you guys supposedly had dreamed and what we all had hoped would be a great companion to EvE. Now you guys screw us all with a new product and pretty much tell your support system that you don't give a rats ass about that, about the work we put in, about the hours we put in or anything like that.
It's sad that instead of fixing one game, you guys decide to build another. Leaving a half ass finished product. If you can't finish one, what is to reassure us that you will finish this one?
Not only that, but then you abandon those on console by moving it to PC. You already have a product on PC. The purpose with Dust was to bring in console players to the EvE Universe. Now you take that away yet again.
Sadly I think CCP will lose a lot of loyal followers after this snafu. You have shown most of us that we don't matter, that we are just fodder and our voices and opinions and hours of hard work mean nothing.

So how it relates to Dust 514?
Is in early development ok. That means Dust earnings are being used to develop and improve/polish Legion(a better version of Dust)? Thats why we see little improvments/fixes in Dust? If Dust die just right now you will be unable to polish Legion and will be another just Dust514?

Tbh I'd just like for dust to be transfered to something other than the PS3 since it's holding the game back A LOT. Ps4 and computers have the same infrastructure so it would be perfect!!! If it's on PC it's bound to be on ps4.

Well there is no link to the video so I will just say this.
Do not try to defend Legion as something other than a replacement when you even said that you announced it there at fanfest because that is all CCP Shanghai has been working on. For all I care they can go the path of CCP Atlanta now and hopefully CCP as a whole follows the same path. |
