So following on from all of the questions I've seen on the forums, I grabbed CCP Rouge for a quick chat and we wanted to add a few words on the introduction of Project Legion and how it relates to DUST 514.

"Today's discussions have brought a flurry of excitement and nerves, and I wanted to address some of those feelings here. Project Legion is at the moment just that, a project in early development. Our, and by our I mean CCP's, goals, have always been to create a persistent universe where your footprints are eternally preserved in the sand. This has always been our strategy and is fundamentally important to us. Because it is still so early for Project Legion we have not yet discovered exactly what form this will take, should the project grow we will do whatever we can to bring you and your footsteps with us."

Dust514 is going to continue as a seperate product eh?

They why is that nothing at all was announced for Dust514 during the Dust keynote?

Breaching NDAs tends to **** you over for any future employment opportunities that require discretion. It is, after all, a form of contract. If you breach contract in one case, what's to stop you doing so in others?

As far as how "terribly" CCP announced it I think that once the "red mist" of internet rage grabs hold - all senses depart...

CCP Rouge actually explained it very well in his blog for those who bothered to read it: "We realized we would never be able to do it by iteration, any more than one could overhaul the engines of a plane in flight" And what did you expect them to call this keynote? Legion Project keynote? After seeing this keynote and reading the blog its rather clear that Legion is the DUST v2.0

All this Doom and Gloom, what a waste of space.


The thing is that Legion was just shown, it may not even become a Thing, they dont know what it will become. Its just like what EVE(R) was when shown and then become Valkirie and is still long ways to be released, it ever.

Dust, besides the regular circle of development, surely has still a good 3-4 years to live, probably more considering Legion might be an entirelly diferent experience.

Also, PS4 is just some dumbed down PC this generation. Developing is made on PC's. It being on PC today dosent mean it wont be on a PS4 tomorow.

Its way to early to know anything.

God, this community is awful and entitled.

I love how everyone and their mother is being simplistic and forgetting just how *old* the PS3 is.

The cold, hard truth, is that the PS3 was NEVER going to be good enough for what they were promising us. I knew it, and thousands of others knew it. Only the people in denial in this thread kept denying reality.

This is the first news in months that made me respect CCP some. They can easily port Legion to the PS4 and actually get work done. I left back in Uprising because of the mouse issues, but this may make me play again.

Thanks CCP, for making a game I might actually want to play.

SONY has already stepped in to run damage control on your INCREDIBLY stupid move. You don't just make CCP look like a failure here, you rub off on your superiors who have graciously allowed this POS game on their servers when Microsoft told you **** no.
They have stepped in to refund the money that people have wasted on this product upon request, and I hope they rip every dollar I spent here from the cold dead hands of this game.
You ****** up beyond your wildest dreams here, and the funny part is you had months to think up a good action plan and this was the best you could come up with.

If anyone else looks to get their money back from this 'gaming company' call 1-800-345-SONY and explain what CCP is doing here on SONY's console, they will return your money to your credit card or wallet, so that you might continue to spend that money on worth while SONY products. I've spent about $200 on my character here, and with that refund theres a handful of other games I can waste my day on.

Good day CCP, you've got your work cut out for you if you EVER expect to recover from the damage you've just done.

The problem was the events and firesales obviously designed to get people to buy as much Aurum as possible before telling people this, It was very dishonest. .

What exactly is this supposed to clarify about Dust?

I'm done. I'm sorry I gave you money for a game I thought could be something other than a cash grab or test run.
