How are blaster turrets getting an increase in direct hit damage?
My current Scattered Ion Cannon does 150 damage per hit.
The new Ion Cannon does 136.
Now, I realize that there are a lot of broke tankers out there running aurum turrets, but surely CCP has seen the numbers that reflect that every non aurum turret used for blaster tanks is a scattered. Only idiots run compressed or standard, and stabilized is way too PG intensive.

Next, what is with the double SP sinks to get into turrets?
Why do I need to level up turret operation to level 5, to then level large turret operation to level 5, then large missile operation to level 5?
Turret operation provides for nothing other than being an SP sink. Remove it.
Basically, my opinion is that if all the skill is doing is unlocking access to more skills, it should be a 1x skill. Stop creating artificial sinks for our SP.
As long as someone can build a potent AV fit for less than 2m SP, then it is unreasonable to expect pilots to have to spend multi millions just to get a decent turret, or a similar amount to get away from standard modules.

On the subject of ISK sinks, why do I need to level turret upgrades to level 5, and then do the optimization skill?
Why not just have them apply to bonus with the turret upgrades skill?
Why so many SP sinks?

Does Vehicle Engineering do anything other than unlock CRU's?
If not, why would anyone skill past level 1, which is all you need to get acess to the basic CRU?
Or are you planning on making advanced engineering a really important skill that you have to get, so that people will forcibly put SP into vehicle engineering, even though it grants no benefit?

I notice a bonus to repair lock on range....does that mean you guys fixed the "technical issues" with giving equipment a bonus? Thats exciting news for us logi bros :D
However, I don't see many tankers running with remote reps and without LLAVs a std LAV will get instant killed while repairing.
Its quite difficult to see how this will effect overall gameplay, but I am excited to see how it all unfolds.
Again, please let us know if we get SP reimbursed for skills that no longer exist (LLAV, LBirds)

Request status to an informed resolution on respecs and refunds? For example someone with 20 mil with 18 allocated entirely to vehicles and the other 2 mil allocated to a support suit i.e logi atm to support an armor tank. This change completely effects my current distribution of SP. What is your plan to make this a fair and worth while experience for us all? A complete 100% respect option as with the release of uprising needs to be top of the discussions at CCP. With the numerous changes to dropsuits, vehicles, and weapons following the "finished product ready for release" in May. I think there could be much respect and gratitude for allowing this and I along worth many agree we all deserve it.

true scattered ion is the only viable variant, however covert clay used a compressed blaster and made it work |

Vehicles offered in packages through the PSN store. The Gurista's/Ishukone Watch currently have different stats from the normal Saga so I'm curious what will happen to them as well.

I started to get excited at the "That's my ride" part of the Blog; I thought they added vehicle locks finally. It seems that I got excited all too quickly. This update is starting to look like 1.6 with minor modifications and a couple extra guns. I really don't know if this update in December is going to be enough to stop me from getting the PS4 I have been desiring for awhile.
Once the PS4 gets their new wave of shipments, I will be buying one and possibly saying farewell if this update becomes more than lackluster to the game's progression.

Reading this devblog being not that different from the on posted before to the exact same topc and checking the modules list, some questions arose:
(1) how and to what extend are vehicle SP being resspecced, if at all? It would not make much sense keeping turret SP untouched while having all the other vehicle SP reimbursed if the decision goes against vehicles investment and speccing into drop suits instead.
(2) what is going to happen with blueprint modules already acquired? The list shows a light militia shield extender blueprint where none was ever sold on the market, only the heavy ones. Militia Power Diagnostic System, Shield Regenerator and Shield Resistance Blueprint are not to be found on the list at all. On the other hand no Armor plates blueprints are listed but were sold on the market: is the list simply incomplete or are these blueprints to go and be reimbursed in AUR?
(3) the dev blog has Amarr vehicle specializations: will the Bloodraider Saga be turned into an Amarr vehicle once Amarr LAVs are being rolled out? After all the Blood Raiders were Amarr, and not Caldari based.

I approve of your decision to keep assault dropships in the game. And even if there is no info on the other racial vehicles, I'm sure just seeing their skills placed on the table anyways made many people feel secure. We can tell you care and are working on the fun toys :)

Tbh, you should have taken the ads away, seriously it was a fail, dont hate on me as I love it but it was a fail, it is never good on game mechanics for the pilot to have a movable turret (even if this is the future...)
Look at any game with aircraft that has a pilot manned gun, you can't move it.

While I laud CCPs decision to keep the ADS; I too wonder about vehicle SP respecs as well as ammo resupply. Will a module be added to resupply? I doubt the ammo capacity skill will be enough. Nevertheless, thank you CCP.

The SP sinks aren't a problem for me, since we're going to need them as SP keeps coming in every week. I'm very happy the ADS is sticking around, and the full list of racial vehicle skills looks promising. I hope to see Amarr vehicles sooner-than-later (I'm hoping by 1.9 or 1.10). Keep it coming CCP.
I'm disappointed they decided not to do vehicle capacitors. This would have been the perfect time to add them with the vehicles getting a rebalance. I worry it will only get more difficult to do later. I hope CCP has a plan for how they can implement capacitors in the future without another major vehicle reboot. E-war would add a whole new dimension to gameplay and put DUST ahead of all it's peers in terms of the depth of vehicle combat.

I'm rather unsure about the 1.7 update and think in a lot of ways it is bad, I'll go point by point to explain.
1. No isk prices were listed upon the data dumps, how much is everything going to cost? Especially considering unless you are playing PC most vehicles in the game are not affordable for you to use as it is. Considering a good tank can cost easily over 750k and a pub match at most can make you 300-400k minus suit expenses which can at times easily go over the profit gained during a match.
2. "That's my ride"- Alright...let me get this straight, for 15 seconds after the driver has already gotten in the car he can't get any blueberries? "As it stands today, no-one other than the vehicle owner can get into a vehicle for 5 seconds after delivery and no-one other than the vehicle owner and his squad can get into a vehicle for 15 seconds after delivery." I don't exactly see this as a fix to the problem, just adding on more to the problem, how are people who are not squaded going to be effective in lavs for transporting people fast? Also, the problem additionally was, when a blueberry got into the vehicle and refused to get out and stole your car or when you were caping an objective or had to get out for a short period of time a blueberry would steal your ride, right in front of you.
3. "Turrent Tweaks"- This has massive sp sink written all over it, I want to see the actual skill tree and how this is going to be applied into it. What I can see of it is that every gun was broken down into segments then given very expensive upgrading charges to and a lot of pay sp to unlock this, I don't think this is exactly helpful and I hope to have a refund on my sp I sunk into vehicles if this is as bad as it reads to me.
4. "Tearing up the road"- Okay....so they are making the lavs with Gallente having a slower start up and a higher top speed and the Caldari with a faster acceleration. I call absolute horseshit on this, let me explain, for most lav operation the entire route is 200m-400m with twists and turns, meaning top speed will never be achieved for longer then 5 seconds. Also, everyone knows that a shield LAV is better then an armor LAV unless somehow the patch is going to drastically change this. In that nearly all AV measures are explosive damage, this can be shown better by using the LLAV's where a shield LLAV can literally take half a team to kill it, even if the LLAV is just parked. An Armor LLAV wishes and dreams it had that much damage soak ability. Where I am going with this, is that acceleration is easily more valuable then top speed in this game, especially with how a lot of fields have bumps and other things to slow you down, so I say that by giving Gallente vehicles a slower acceleration you will be killing them, since top speed doesn't mean much of a damn if you can never find a straight road to use it on. Shield based LAV's will still easily be the best, because their is no armor LAV that I would ever call a "armor-tanked bruiser" consider how fast they die to AV damage especially forge guns.
Few things I loved about this patch though are.
1. "Target Aquired"- About time we get turrets that can shoot straight and don't throw a shell a mile off just because you moved an inch.
2. HAV's getting better manueverability, this will help a ton with survivability, I just hope that the swarm missiles get a better tracking program rather then constantly smacking into walls.
3. Vehicles having finite ammo and supply depots being able to give them back ammo (though I do hope their is another way for tanks to get ammo, otherwise all supply depots are going to die, just to deny tanks access) |

True, I expect that to be abused.
Though most deployments will probably occur deep in the redline to prevent dangling it for several seconds exposing it to hostile fire, so either way a HAV will be disengaged for significant periods.
Small ambush maps increase the chance of losing your toy before you can get on board. |

Also, the problem additionally was, when a blueberry got into the vehicle and refused to get out and stole your car or when you were caping an objective or had to get out for a short period of time a blueberry would steal your ride, right in front of you.
3. "Turrent Tweaks"- This has massive sp sink written all over it, I want to see the actual skill tree and how this is going to be applied into it. What I can see of it is that every gun was broken down into segments then given very expensive upgrading charges to and a lot of pay sp to unlock this, I don't think this is exactly helpful and I hope to have a refund on my sp I sunk into vehicles if this is as bad as it reads to me.
4. "Tearing up the road"- Okay....so they are making the lavs with Gallente having a slower start up and a higher top speed and the Caldari with a faster acceleration. I call absolute horseshit on this, let me explain, for most lav operation the entire route is 200m-400m with twists and turns, meaning top speed will never be achieved for longer then 5 seconds. Also, everyone knows that a shield LAV is better then an armor LAV unless somehow the patch is going to drastically change this. In that nearly all AV measures are explosive damage, this can be shown better by using the LLAV's where a shield LLAV can literally take half a team to kill it, even if the LLAV is just parked. An Armor LLAV wishes and dreams it had that much damage soak ability. Where I am going with this, is that acceleration is easily more valuable then top speed in this game, especially with how a lot of fields have bumps and other things to slow you down, so I say that by giving Gallente vehicles a slower acceleration you will be killing them, since top speed doesn't mean much of a damn if you can never find a straight road to use it on. Shield based LAV's will still easily be the best, because their is no armor LAV that I would ever call a "armor-tanked bruiser" consider how fast they die to AV damage especially forge guns.
Few things I loved about this patch though are.
1. "Target Aquired"- About time we get turrets that can shoot straight and don't throw a shell a mile off just because you moved an inch.
2. HAV's getting better manueverability, this will help a ton with survivability, I just hope that the swarm missiles get a better tracking program rather then constantly smacking into walls.
3. Vehicles having finite ammo and supply depots being able to give them back ammo (though I do hope their is another way for tanks to get ammo, otherwise all supply depots are going to die, just to deny tanks access)

And let's not forget the complete redesign of vehicles and hopefully balance between armor/shield tanks now that CCP has defined roles for them.

(sorry I should of made this 1 message) ppl don't like getting killed full stop, they complain about the things tht bug them most but nobody can complain about being shot by rifles, because there wouldn't be a game to play, the most frustrating games were always the best, make standard grenades do a lil more damage to armour vehicles, or make flux grenades hold serious weight against them, bring back sticky bombs. even in battlefield the vehicles were pretty tough and u could run ppl over, my point is it should be tough it already is even without the vehicles, most games have lots of inside coverage dust is all mostly open air, there could be destroyed ships stuck in the open parts of the map to offer cover or buildings in which u can hide in and shoot out the windows then escape though secret tunnels burnt out drop ships or tanks, the mountains have no crevices or cave like spots, there is no sewage tunnels to the facilitys either a few drains in which u could sneak into the centre facility's undetected there should be these in multiple directions making the enemies moves unpredictable, and there should be more sneaky spots for snipers, u should make more weapons tht watch ur ass as well like proximity mines should work against infantry 2 so u can actually take a descent location and concentrate on taking out the armoured vehicles without having to worry about somebody sneaking up on you, and nova knives should take on COD style attack so u can shoot the hell out of someone then quickly knife them without having to flap around trying to change weapons, cos atm the are pretty useless. |

This is a completely unrealistic approach to battles and gameplay. Real battlefields are either open expanses of ground leading to structures, or they are urban environments with a built infrastructure which serves the purpose of the structure. No planer would build underground passages unless they were meant for the building/settlement, trenches would only be dug in a war that was lasting weeks or months, and natural cover for a dropship would only be found in forests/caves/ravines.
I agree that vehicles should offer a challenge, but should be countered appropriately with the correct provisions. I don't want an AV grenade that can take out a tank in a single hit, but I would appreciate one making them second guess sticking around. |

Again unrealistic. There is no way that a vehicle deployed for a combat situation would be keyed to a single user permanently when its life expectancy is 10 min. The current setup for delayed access is brilliant! it will allow for squad organization when deploying, and still allows for hacking/commandeering throughout a match

Turret operation provides for nothing other than being an SP sink. Remove it.
Basically, my opinion is that if all the skill is doing is unlocking access to more skills, it should be a 1x skill. Stop creating artificial sinks for our SP.
As long as someone can build a potent AV fit for less than 2m SP, then it is unreasonable to expect pilots to have to spend multi millions just to get a decent turret, or a similar amount to get away from standard modules.

The most basic non-militia tank, with the most basic non-militia large missile, with the most basic non-millitia damage mod, and NOTHING else, will require FOUR skills at level five, one of which is a 2x skill.

I can destroy a supply depot with a few clips of a forge gun, the swarmers (proto) seem to be nearly as effective as I am. Although soon I will be able to work on them from a longer distance. |

Saddled? They're giving you back vehicle points. You can put them into something else if you want, no one's forcing you to put them back in vehicles. Anyways, CCP's working on annnouncement with more details to be posted shortly. |

Its definitely a step in the right direction, refunding sp, but if tanks are you're interest in the game than this patch has the potential to ruin the game for you. I know it certainly will for me.
Tanks are supposed to dominate, if they are just fillers for assault then you have cut thier usefulness from the battlefield. Better to just skill into heavy. At least they recieved a much needed ehp boost, instead of a paralyzing drop In module slots. |

But man, you dont understand Most vehicle pilots have bunch of sp in infatry because we didnt need as much sp to max out one vehicle role, while now we need bucket loads of sp to simply max out large missile turrets
WE NEED A FULL RESPEC because otherwise it will be impossible for many VEhicle user to be vehicle users because they have a lot of sp in infantry because vehicle used not to be viable isk wise

Unfortunately, that "vehicle lock" it's not going to help much, if not at all. Blueberries still randomly jumping in our vehicles refusing to get out...
At least, tankers will be able to remove their small turrets to prevent this, but it's not the best solution.
The rest is good and I can't wait to see if vehicles will finally worth my time. I'm still waiting for the Forge Gun damage update, though.

Not having vehicle lock is a BIG let down... Personally I am not driving a +2.5 million tank into the battlefield and have a blue berry steal my tank if I need to get out of the tank or even screw my position by shooting with my turrets.

The fact that it takes a year to get much stuff as you can get in eve online in 2 months makes me think maybe cash for respec isn't as bad as long as it never went to eve online....
Or lower the skill sp total by a ton please... but if not sure respecs it'll take a year for anyone to fit a single suit so who cares if they respec they can only use one other thing... |

Why are the tables posted as jpegs post it as a table we can copy and use the stats for instead of having to type the whole damn thing out again. Work with the community instead of trippin us up all the time.

CCP, why does the Large Missile Turret have a smaller splash radius than the Large Railgun? Most players will stay away from it since the Railgun is more efficient for vehicle combat at range and the Blaster is ideal vs infantry.

The Small railgun continues to be the the stunted child of small veh weapons. If you take a look at its stats you can see its still as useless as it was before 1.7 I have my doubts that they even picked up the dam thing!!
It does less dmg then small missiles and in fact small missile are better then it it every way.
My Predictions of the small railgun in 1.7
Still does only 50% dmg to veh's Still cant hit the broad side of a barn never gets used compared to the missile launcher and the blaster has pitiful range and no useful zoom function its charge time is overtly long. Why does it even need a charge time? is the rail rifle going to have charge times?
My answers on how to fix these problems not that CCP will listen to them Make sure it does FULL dmg to veh's fix its hit detection or change the way it strikes targets give it a decent zoom function and good range change its charge time into a low ROF or change it so its charge stays charged until its ready to shoot. make it less like the Assault forge gun and more like the breach forge gun. lower its PG and CPU requirements.
Maybe then ppl will use it and it can be a legitimate weapon! |

What about scanner skills for vehicles skill tree - will pilots be force to skill up infantry skills to extend scanner strength, and range of visibility after 1.7 or you prepare something special for us?
(please do not disappoint us with pilot suit bonus to resupply ammo)
Beside that, I think it is good moment to rename Vehicles Upgrade skills(http://web.ccpgamescdn.com/dust/news.control/65451/1/skill.jpg) so all of them have word "Vehicle", and thanks to that they distinguish from Dropsuit skills, and bunch of EVE skills.

It seems you have a system in place that locks a vehicle to the squad only for 15 seconds, why not boost that to the max game time? If it is a permissions thing, and you need to make it so the enemy can hack it, can't you just exclude the players we're with? I have no idea how you guys got the work around to lock, but I'm certain the community can agree I'd rather have my vehicle locked from my team indefinitely. Or so I assume. |

If we are forced to accept this skill changes the least it can be done is a full respec so we can allocate every point into vehicles, we shall not decieve for your lack of understanding to the fact that once we finished our vehicle skill tree we decided touse SP into non vehicle skills... Don't even come up with the argument decisions matter because it clearly doesn't when CCP changes everything when they feel like. |

But I figured I should also post here.
CCP Please consider refunding isk for all normal, still going to be available, vehicle modules. Some of us purchased a stock of items to fit vehicles as they are now or for vehicles that are being taken away. For instance, if you're forcing me to give up a stock of a dozen LLAVs, it is only fair you refund me for all the mods I bought for them, too. I may not want to, or even be able to, use them on anything that is left. I don't think that a mass refund like this would be warrented every time you make a little change but this is a rather large one, with special circumstances. If you just refunded all of the vehicle mods that can be repurchased from the market, then everyone could get exactly what they need for the new vehicles in your system. Thanks for your consideration. |

Vehicle locking should be an option the owner can set on or off while within the vehicle, or perhaps as an option menu mechanism.

seriously, how hard could it be to make a lock feature. vehicles as they are now don't use all the controller buttons just use one of the two and right one paragraph of code already. |
