November Mastery Reward
The goal of battle is to win. But for some, winning is not enough. You must dominate your opponent completely and make him regret ever facing off against you. In November, we will be rewarding people when they do master the art of war. Every day, for your best 3 wins (in terms of War Points earned), you will earn double the amount of War Points in Skill Points. These bonus Skill Points will not count against your weekly cap and will be awarded every Tuesday.
Accelerated SP Week
From November 6 to 13, players will earn active Skill Points from battles at three times the normal rate. During the week, your weekly Skill Point cap will be tripled as well. Passive Skill Point gain will remain normal.
Black Eagle Battle Test
The Black Eagles are running a public trial of their iconic 'Black Eagle' Scout G/1-Series dropsuit from November 14 to 21. Every player will be provided with 50 Black Eagle dropsuits absolutely for free. For every 5 kills scored with a Black Eagle dropsuit weapon, you will earn an additional Black Eagle dropsuit at the end of the trial! These bonus dropsuits will be capped at 70.
Winter Carnage
It's time to paint the snowy white winter red with blood! From November 23 to 30, using your best weapons to rack up the kills will earn you bonus rewards. Best of all, the rewards are based entirely on the weapon you use! Any heavy, light, or sidearm you use in battle is eligible for these rewards.
- For every 10 kills made with a Standard weapon, earn 1 Advanced-tier weapon of the same type.
- For every 10 kills made with an Advanced weapon, earn 2 Prototype-tier weapons of the same type.
- For every 10 kills made with a Prototype weapon, earn 1 copy of the 'Quafe' Scout gk.0 dropsuit.
All kills must be made with the same weapon type. All rewards are capped at 100 copies.

I would like to see the comment "from downtime to downtime" in order to be sure not to have the extended cap extra grind day that happened twice last spring...
It seems a bit grindy, I'd say double SP cap would've sufficed with 3x active WP to SP gain, as we learned that passive part forms the large chunk of battle's SP earnings.
But it's not that bad. If running out of weekly game time, people can always help to reach the extended cap by afk farming... =P |

What about using OFFICER weapons?
Those do take same amount of balls to use...
Haha, I'm half kidding, of course.
But on serious level, that might bring an interesting mechanic: Will you risk some of those very limited weapons in order to get something else? Balancing would be slightly difficult though, as the reward must not be trash but should not be over the top extravagant. |

As per usual:
Passives (skill points and therefore passive boosters) are not affected by events at all.
You're surely meaning ACTIVE boosters, which are expected to indeed further enhance the extra bonus! |

A straight 3x SP event would have been better, but as a high WP scorer per match I won't complain too much. I just feel bad about those people trying to cap who only earn 500-1000WP per match. |

I like these events, but I now understand that CCP doesn't care about Pub Stomping at all.
My only complaint is that in order to get more Black Eagle suits I have to get 5 kills with one which isn't impossible, but if I wanted as many suits as possible it would be safer just to never wear them at all. Now 2 suits for every kill in a BE suit, capped at 70, I could get on board with.
The Ellecon's come from a long line of Gallente. Tarn chose Peace. Tallen chose war.

Oh, you're right, it could be taken to mean that the "active" SP from time spent in battles will be tripled as well, but the regular passive gain applying both in/out of battles will remain the same. Clarification on this would be good. |

oh oh i forgot to ask, what i want to know in a much clearer detail is the quafe suit kills is it 10 kills per game or 10 kills put together, for example i get 30 kills total from 4 games does that mean i get 3 suits now?

Is there any chance that there is a LOGI reward coming in a future event? I see these Quaffe scout suit (PROTO) being given away and then wonder what's the point? I can't use it, I can't sell it but a new Logi (black eagles variety with lots of equipment slots, 2 light weapons and maybe no high slots but lows instead may be nice.

This looks great! Best event list ever.
As well as the few clarifications needed that others have asked for, I'm wondering about the Black Eagles suit kills. It says you have to make those kills with Black Eagle suit weapons. Does that mean I have to make those kills with the weapons that the suit comes equipped with, or can I swap in my trusty scrambler rifle as primary weapon and still have those kills count towards the kill count for this event? |

It should apply to turrets as well. If infantry get two proto weapons for every 10 kills with the advanced variant, I should get two proto turrets for every 10 kills I make with advanced. This will be the only event for November I'll be able to play through, but I'll get nothing in return for being a tanker!
Not to mention that it takes more skill to get kills with a missile Gunnlogi than it takes with a blaster Madrugar.

IN november 23 I will be running my KLA-90 plasma cannon... Hopefully those general hit detection issues cover my weapon, it's hard to kill stuff with it when I'm only doing 20 damage out of my 300+ I should be doing. Anyways I cant wait to get my 100 free allotek plasma cannons after the event on november 23rd

Now that's good news
I'm not an event coordinator or anything close, but the only idea that pops at me is to provide some sort of challenge where a vehicle needs to defend an objective that's being hacked or counter hacked by friendlies, multiple times. Something like this to promote vehicle and infantry cooperation when attacking or defending objectives.

OP reads "players will earn active Skill Points from battles at three times the normal rate", where the word "active" could imply that only the 1 WP = 1 SP part will be tripled.
If it's all SP earned from battles it should say all, and not active. It might still mean all SP from battles, but given CCP's past events I would like to get confirmation on the matter.
That we've got no answer to the question despite them answering other questions can mean one of two things in my opinion.
1. They don't know the answer and need to get dev confirmation from ones that do.
2. They know we won't like the answer, meaning only the 1 WP = 1 SP part will be tripled. |

You can adjust the suit, but you have to get the kills with one of the default weapons on the suit.
Additionally with the Winter Carnage event, Grenades are not counted for the event either (they aren't a sidearm, light or heavy weapon)

It's a pretty simple SQL query. Hardly different from the previous one in fact.. Rather than order by matchdatetime and taking the top 3 results you order by WP earned and take the top 3 results.

*sniff* So beautiful.....I get 50 suits for just exsisting, they listened and best 3 matches of the day, rather then just the first three of every day. I get to kill people and get better weapons for it, and gernade spam is massively discouraged during the event. A triple wp event, which is very nice, (could have used a slight boost to the passive gained during battle). This is the best list of events in a long long time for Dust. |

Hmm I take it I will earn around 1 million skill points between Nov. 6th - 13th.
Pretty sure that you won't get 3000 SP after cap; it'll still be capped to 1000/1500/2000 SP per match, depending on your unboosted/active booster/omega active, but you'll only have to earn 334 WP in order to reach the max SP per match due to the 3x multiplier effect.
My earnings target for that week will be around 1.6 mil SP :) Aim higher! |

Hopefully when people drop down to 40 suits and getting only a few kills with 10 deaths to their Black Eagle dropsuit count, they will realize that holding on to them would probably be the better idea.
I can see tons of snipers using this scout suit to get points; I know I will, and I will be farming them quite a bit (averages in my games tend to be 20-0 to 30-0, depending where I snipe), so I know that capping them to 70 by CCP is a good idea on their part.

I'm a bit worried about the potential proto-stomping but overall this month's event really offers a lot. The BE suits are nice as they are given to everyone, with the option to earn more if you are willing to risk using them (which for many folks will mean altering their play style as there are not exactly a lot of scouts in-game).
The ability to choose your weapon rewards, or scout gk.0 quafe suit is nice as well, I just hope some of the lower SP or casual players can get some of the higher level rewards here.
+1 all around, thanks for putting some thought into this and creating what sounds like a cool event.
I was one of the folks more upset about the 100 BE and Quafe suits given to those that didn't log in for 60 days, but I'm letting go of that baggage.
At least I have the chance to get some now and I'm not sure what constraints or directives you guys are operating under anyway when decisions are made on stuff like this.
Here is to looking forward to the event, and also that future Heavies, Logi's and vehicle users get some sweet rewards in the future as well. |

Blue post already mentioned you have to use the weapons that come with the suit to qualify. I think this needs to be made crystal clear in the OP.

the viziam laser is a PROTOTYPE weapon but a basic laser is better.
so as far as lasers go its pointless to use anything but the basic laser . |

So i could rack up quite a decent amount of weapons? And of the last mentioned rewards are each capped to 100? Like if i would get 1000 kills with my duvolle i get 100 quafe scouts? Additionally if i make 500 kills with my GEK-38 i get 100 duvolles and for 1000 kills with a exile i get 100 GEK-38. Did i got that right?

The point of not including passive battle SP to is keep from rewarding MCC sitters. If you want to get your bonus, you need to work for it.
ED: Possible solution? Increase cap by 3x as planned, increase active WP gain by 6x. Less grinding.

I feel a bit ashamed right now, I was actually talking CCP up that they would never do the only active sp was tripled during a triple event again. I was obviously so wrong. I thought you were actually listening to your players when you got negative feedback the last time around.
I'm not sure what you think only tripling active sp does but it certainly does not stop afking and most certainly does increase the feeling of an endless grind and makes this go so much less fun when I need to spend additional hours to reach my cap. Paying for boosters, I feel like not reaching cap is like losing money, no one likes to lose money.

If you're willing to blow tons of ISK to use all proto suits and equipment to maximize your WP gains, you could probably cap out in 20-25 hours.
After that run free suits in ambushes because 334 WP per match to reach 1000/1500/2000 SP is easy street.
Regardless, it's going to be a long week. |

Seriously? Dude...you are getting triple active SP and If you have a booster it's a multiplicative effect. They didn't have to have the increased SP event at all. If they just announced the other 3x November events and left off the Triple SP the overwhelming majority of folks would think it's a really nice nod to the community.
They did you a solid by adding the triple SP. If you are concerned with the grind...then don't grind, just play your normal amount and enjoy the extra SP you get. |

Then live your life. No one forces you to play a certain amount per week; just play what you can, when you want.
Let me be clear...not trying to be sharp with you at all. My perspective on this is that they are giving you free SP and you can play your normal amount with a nice bonus; or play less for the same reward and do other things with your time; or play extra and maximize the SP potential. None of these options were available to you unless they offered the Triple SP bonus...you've been given more choice than you would have had.
Would i have liked a full Active and Passive Triple bonus - of course! But they are doing a good thing for us and I recognize and appreciate it.

Terrible decision.
To all those who say "Well, it's free SP, just enjoy it." I will, but the problem is everyone complained about the last time they did it this way, and everyone said it was a worse event, and made the grind even worse, and CCP didn't listen! The playerbase complains all the time about the grind, why would you even consider making it worse?! Everyone, and I mean everyone, loved the previous "true" triple SP event. If you want to bring players back from other games and re-energize the players who are still here, this is a foolish way to do it.
IF it actually eliminated (which it didn't and won't) AFK, that might be one thing. But it DOESN'T.
- It takes longer to cap so AFKers stick around longer
- It only makes protostomping worse, and since it will also take longer to cap, the protobears will stay in pubs longer before retreating to PC once they are at/near cap.
Bottom line is this: It makes the grind WORSE because it actually takes LONGER than usual to cap for probably a majority of people who don't reliably get 2-3000 WP every game.
This is how a triple SP event should work: It takes the same amount of time/effort to cap, but you end up with 3x as much SP at the end of the week.Period.

So being new to dust, but not to fps games, this supposed triple sp event has not tripled anything... I see the weekly bonus sp cap has tripled, but the sp I get per match is the same as I was getting before... I am having a HARD time getting 4k sp. I guess I have to play 35 hours or more this week to hit this cap... Nice way to take care of new players and turn them to the other new games out there like ghost warrior and gta5..... Not having more options of game types with suit/wp/sp limits means I get to go out and boost some proto wearing yahoo's ego with nothing but time on their hands. There HAS to be more options for new people to get up to speed, the battle academy was 1 game for me and I got 1400 wp and was thrown into proto level matches with militia gear. I spent my sp on getting the gek38 and enhanced armor just so I can get wasted by a sub machine gun straight up. There really needs to be matches that are only for militia, then standard, then advanced, then proto level is the holy grail of matches, and if people in militia want to brave it out and donate in the proto level, then by all means let them, but to not have that option is going to be this games downfall. Final note is I know it is not my playing skill because some of the players running in squads in the battle academy matches were names like fggglajsj and other random isk farming names, and the fact that I was 19 kills and 2 deaths and took on 3 at a time more than once that were the opposing teams biggest wp winners means I cannot be that bad. |

People are never satisfied. You could give 1m sp to every player, no strings attached, and still have someone cry about it. Get back under your bridge trolls. Go get some attention from your friends....oh wait.....nvm....just go sit in the corner and ponder why you don't have any.
Seriously people, just be glad you got an event as great as this. It could have been a lot worse. You could still be getting 1k sp per match after your initial 180k.

Much better event criteria this month guys. All we have to do is... kill things ... I think we can manage that.
There is also no annoying thresholds to try and reach, so we don't have to really worry about counting every kill. We can just step up, participate a bit, and get rewarded for it, nice.
I would suggest you guys consider doing something slightly different for the bonus SP events though. People who want to take full advantage of it have to put in a ton of extra work to make that happen. If thats your intent thats fine, just tossing the feedback out there that longer grinds are sort of  .

I'm having fun in general, don't get me wrong, but I don't agree with the way the faux-triple SP event is set up, *mainly* because of the pub-stomping increase. I will take half the team AFKing any day of the week over a good hard pub-stomp. Ironically, that's a better match than Scotty can manage because you'll probably have a similar number of blues and reds sitting around scratching their arses.
How come I end up in games against a full squad of proto-suits who wipe the floor with us? I'm running an advanced suit - judging by the spectacular one-sidedness of the matches, most others on my team aren't running proto either. How is that a match? Doesn't this mean Scotty is broken?
Battles I am in are *totally* spoilt when it's a pub-stomp, regardless of which side I'm on. That's not fun at all. *Please* understand I want to be rewarded with moar SP :D without being subjected to a massive increase in pub-stomping. There's already solutions that allow this, already advocated in this thread.
I'd mention some other ideas, like introducing lobbies where the meta level of gear is restricted? Then I can play safely with the other kids, and play with the bigger boys when I feel like a challenge. But that might derail...oops. You get the idea. Do you CCP? DO YOU! Arrghhhh |

Personally it's too much effort/ISK for me to try to earn 3k WP each match. So I just drop uplinks and AFK or hunt turrets. |

I capped out today and can confirm that after capping, the WP requirement to reach 1000 SP max per round is reduced. I'm guessing WPx3 = SP (capped at 1000 SP + whatever booster bonus) but so far I have always exceeded 334 WP in each round so I can't confirm the multiplier definitively. |

Alternately you could let us know when the player's market open so we can have a junk sale. |

I shouldn't use swarms or a backup SMG because exceeding 10 kills with either of these will score me an extra copy of the bumped tier of either weapon, thus reducing my Duvolle stockpile? |

This is how a triple SP event should work: It takes the same amount of time/effort to cap, but you end up with 3x as much SP at the end of the week.Period.

For the record:
I'm an average (played 3 months?) player
I loved the triple sp event last week.
I happened to have an active booster handy :) so was getting 10,000+ SP per match, consistently.
I thus walked away with a Freaking boatload of SP (ie: I hit the extended 500,000 cap) and am very happy about it.

A neat event idea in general: a freebie set of semi-decent suits, encouraging people to try out "the scout life", without them actually having to risk anything, or even invest any SP into scout.

problem is... they have two major limitations.
To play them as any kind of decent black-ops scout, you REALLY need extended range.
That means you either need:
a) use of a low-slot, so you can use a range extender. Oooopps, no low slots.
b) use of a scanner, so... Ooops, no equipment slot.
Soo... a great idea for an event, has been somewhat ruined, this week :(
Of the two fixes to the suit, having the low slot, would be the true black-ops silent way to go.
Any chance you might fix these in the future? Or introduce a new varient, that has the slot, but maybe requires level 1 scout or something?

(The obvious way to go, would be to make the low slot with a BPO ferro-scale armor as the default. Use the slot with something else, and lose the armor rating. But get back the power and cpu!) |

The total # of suits rewarded are capped regardless of the weapon, as is (at least) each individual rewarded weapon, that's how I interpret it. I'm still waiting to hear the exact reward per weapon and confirmation that you can get say AR and ScR rewards. So few people are skilled into proto scouts I'm surprised so many are planning on using proto weapons. Considering you get double the amount of rewards per kill if you use ADV weapons that seems like the smarter move. I use them 99% of the time anyway so not much will change for me. I just want a couple quafe suits as a collectors item and that's about it.

Hey man, I got the skill points and the money, so why not? Anyways, the way they explained it made it sound like each weapon is capped at 100, not the reward itself.
So, the way you explain it, it sounds like if you use a gek and cap that reward out, you can't then use a standard scrambler rifle and get that reward then use an advanced scrambler rifle and get that reward. The way they have it written on the post, it is pretty weird. |

My 1st take on this is that you get 100 copies max for each weapon type you use so you could conceivably have over 1K rewards. Then I looked at it based on different views and the worst view is that you have to use "your BEST weapon" so if you have proto and use adv you get no rewards also it would allow CCP to issue the lower reward value in the case of differant types of next tier weapons.
I have asked for clarification from ccp as have many people and they have not given it for weeks, so lets all assume that they are running a competition to reward players for playing and that we get the same type and model of weapon but the next tier and that we are limited to 100 rewards per type of weapon.
In the absence of any official ccp statement that would be the most logical conclusion from their statement.
What do you think? |

problem is... they have two major limitations.
To play them as any kind of decent black-ops scout, you REALLY need extended range.
That means you either need:
a) use of a low-slot, so you can use a range extender. Oooopps, no low slots.
b) use of a scanner, so... Ooops, no equipment slot.

Of the two fixes to the suit, having the low slot, would be the true black-ops silent way to go.

(The obvious way to go, would be to make the low slot with a BPO ferro-scale armor as the default. Use the slot with something else, and lose the armor rating. But get back the power and cpu!)
the BLACK EAGLE actually goes like this "for people who think it has no slots"

in the 2 highs it has (a militia shield extender) and an advanced extender (hidden)
in the lows we have (basic kincat) and a (basic range amp) both hidden
then for weapons we trade equipment for 2 light weapon slots
and grenades
also the hidden mods have level 5 bonuses (10% to both kincat module & range module)
im gallente lvl5 with all scout skills maxed exept for kins & cardiac
I had no problem going 41-4, 26-1, and so on

There are two pages on that list, it just opens up to the Advanced page.
Click "Standard" from the bottom left of the window and you'll see Standard -> Advanced.

If you're not patient, this isn't the game for you, lol. This isn't backed by Activision or EA so they can't just throw money at the problem and make it go away - they have to be careful with their budget and where they assign the people that are being payed because that balance fits within that budget. So, take a breather.. Calm down a bit, yanno? No reason to get upset.

Oh, I'm patient, alright. I've been playing since day 1 of the closed beta, albeit I didn't play for about a month after realizing just how buggy the game was. Don't get me wrong, I like the game, it's just that they said they'd have a list of this stuff up BEFORE the event and it was posted two whole days AFTER the start of the event. They said they'd never remove BPOs from the game, then they go back on their word with 1.7. I have been told several times by devs that they won't remove vehicles from 1.7. Well, guess what? Logistics and heavy tanks are out, along with a whole host of turrets and modules. Many of which will return in later patches (probably 2.x), the rest will never be seen again.
Their update timeline is severely whacked and they have proven that they don't actually look at their own forums, at least not as often as they should, with their Facebook post about the Winter Carnage event. If 1.7 isn't good, then the game may very well die. They have yet to actually fix issues that have been plaguing the game since closed beta. |

So is there a delay before we receive our items with the black eagle event. I know i went at least one round with 8 kills in one suit(no death) so even if you were being tight on your requirements i should have got at least one suit. |

Cant open excel. Can someone answer if variants get the same variant or the standard version. eg do adv tac ars get pro tac ar or duvolle or assault smg get pro assault smg or normal smg?
By the way if there was a lower proto stomping agenda giving 3 adv weapons for 10 basic kills, 2 adv for 10 adv kills and 1 adv weapons for 10 proto kills would be a lot better. Using adv weapons to get pro weapons doesnt seem like a good idea. Almost as bad as giving quafe suits as a reward when only 4 people will actually use them.

Variants get the bumped tier of the same variant. So GLU-5 Tacs will get Duvolle Tacs, and CRD-9 AScRs will get Carthum AScRs. |
