Only suit I speced into was the Mimitar Scout level 1 which gives you the basic m Light frame at a advanced level Doubt it? Kid sit. You're just mad. I own every merc pack. I swear, every gun in this game becomes "overpowered" AFTER I stop using them.
I started using the TAC AR before uprising, and then switch to the Scrambler when it came out...then everyone uses them out of nowhere. Then I start using the Flaylock, and stopped using it because I didn't like the short range. Turns out I was just using it incorrectly and could have been out there getting tons of kills. I just recently stopped using the mass driver, and now they're crazy effective again. GAH.
Watch, the second I stop using an SR, it's going to get called OP and get nerfed. Oh, and same with my forge.
Maybe I should get into the Mass Driver again. It was my favorite weapon when I first started playing in the closed beta... maybe with it now being so effective I can actually fall in love with it for real this time. |

Lol, that's awesome, but it brings yet a third weapon into the mix. Is it OP when you combine Flux, MD and RE or is that just smart tactics. Finding synergy between weapons and using strategy seems less OP and more brains.

Just came from an Ambush. Entire enemy team using MDs. They had the high ground. They were destroyed by not MDs, but from PCs and ARs. Was good fun though, blowing them all up with a weapon that doesn't need to be spammed. (Plasma Cannon)

Idk if its just me but I've been useing the charged since beta and I took like a 2-3 week break, and something feels off. Like it takes longer to charge or something. |

I was really considering making MDs the next (5th) Light weapon I have skilled. But, since better judgement and experience tell me that the nerf is forthcoming, then I'll just stay on my path to enlightened Kin Cats and Bio Regs.

There's a lot of bugs associated with Mass Drivers and other splash damage weapons as I've outlined here: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=99917
I would strongly advise making changes to the Mass Driver until they're at least working correctly but as with all FPS games, the true potential of a weapon is never really noticed until MONTHS after it's been introduced into the game.
Being as the Mass Driver had it's splash radius increased in 1.2 (but not the splash radius against the user, mind you) people are just now starting to see it's potential and I'd imagine it's going to be the new flavor of the month as more players become accustomed to how it works.
It's good in small quantities but when large groups of players (this is more common now that Flaylocks have been fixed) start using them in tandem they're very difficult to avoid, especially with players who have Operation 5 which gives a rather large increase to the splash radius. |

One thing people don't understand is that if your Cal suit get's fluxed, you have no more shields. Then a MD round that does +20% DAMAGE TO ARMOR will be a killer.
You Gal suit gets his shields instantly taken out, then a few +20% DAMAGE TO ARMOR shots will kill it easily.
People fail to understand the simple principle that you have stated. |

Actually, the MD is challenging for many other reasons. I'm not arguing about the shotgun. It seems fine to me. The AR on the other hand is killing in CQC far more than the shotgun. That's a problem. |

I think more people are going to try and get proficiency on their ARs and then spec into MD. but alot of people are expect a nerf for MD even though no real play says they are OP.
but I already posted the numbers somewhere else. with a GEK costing you 17k ISK you can do dps of 550 with proficiency. So, what more do you need? lolz, 1 complex mod and the number is uickly 594 damage per second.
this is why so many people are speccing into it. only those who have all their AR stuff maxed out will go forMD, but most likely SR to try it out |

I honestly believe that dust meters correlates to feet in real time. Because honestly, 5 meter splash radius means that 2 people (roughly 6 feet each) and a midget lying down would get hit if the projectile hit the first person's feet. I honestly think that CCP has some map vs numbers vs weapons issue here, where the numbers don't quite match the scale. |

The dps on all these ARs (of the same category STD, ADV, PROTO) need to be brought in line with the Breach ARs dps. the Breach AR has a dps of 340 (actually* 374). why does the STD full auto have a dps thats 425 (actually 467)? the std AR does 33% less damage of the breach per shot, but has an 85% higher RPM! To balance it has to have the same dps as the breach. I suggest 27.5 damage per shot for the STD.
Similarly, the bursts dps needs to be balanced against that of the breach. the TAC seems to be in a good spot right now. but, if the dps can be increased to that of a breach that would be good, IF the breaches dps is lower, then leave the TACs dps alone as it was already nerfed.
All ARs of the same tier (STD,ADV, PROTO) should have the same dps. different stats same result. its meant to fit your playstyle and fit specific situations.
