Way to "counter" them. Use a weapon that has longer range and sit back and outrange them (so you have to be pretty far away for this to work). If you can get into CQC....I mean true CQC then they will hurt themselves while they shoot you...as long as they dont hit you directly you will be doing more dmg with your shots + their own dmg being dealt to themselves.

Dont even try to "dodge" being hit by the AOE....its simply not possible. The best you can do is to positions yourself in a way that the blast radius does not help them......unfortunately the brilliantly designed maps by CCP allow for very few areas where you can position objects between you and the MD round.

People say height advantage is the best method....but that is the best method vs every single weapon in the game. So in reality if you say the only way to counter an MD is to have height advantage then that is just a laughable statement.

Not even LAVs are safe as your dropsuit will take dmg if your char is in the explosive radius....even when it hits the vehicle.

LOL at your "hard counter" I personally didnt have any issues when I use the MD....but then again I rarely sit there and try to shoot up at someone who has the higher ground as for every weapon the higher ground has the advantage....because you can barely peak your head over the top and fire your weapon thus maintaining most of your cover.
