playing on my commando with my corp mates tonight I run a mass driver ASCR combo with a repair tool while he runs a mass driver and nano hives.....the MD is an area denial weapon and that is what we were using it for. The MD is not over powered Team Work is.... That is what people do not understand..... The MD has a firing arc that is pretty huge and it is exactly what it is supposed to be an area denial weapon.
Think about this the MD user has to adjust for range range and deflection (unless they are spamming and FOTM players) Most rounds from an MD outside 100 meters the user can't see because of the sight picture of the ADS.
At 137 meters the MD is roughly 1 inch under the sight picture to hit so if we hit you at that range well sorry bout your damn luck....
By the way don't funnel into a narrow area if you know there is a Mass driver watching it HELLO common sense stay out of the damn kill funnels. |

I don't honestly think anything else needs nerfing at the minute. We do however need buffs and fixes. The shotgun for instance suffers badly from hit detection issues half the time and plasma cannons need more damage or a change in the way they fire.
The arc on the plasma cannon shot is very hard to control considering its low damage as well as a lack of real stat progression through the levels of advanced and proto. |

I guess I was not clear cos you seem to think I am trolling, what i got was spammed by MD taking down my sheilds then finished off by a direct shot from flaylock, the flaylock I dont mind, hell I dont mind the MD just the guys who I see that have moved tothem from flaylocks so they can continue to rely on splash damage, I know guys who get headshots regularly with the MD and they impress me, 6 guys camping a nano hive or supply depo just lobbing MD rounds everywhere is not skill! |

At least you have to keep clicking. The AR user just has to press the button once. Um there is a Burst AR and there is a TAC AR that require more clicking...FAIL Hmm, again, I guess you have a problem with....thought. When people talk about ARs, they're talking about the mainline ARs, the OP ones. Burst isn't very good, and TAR, while still a little too strong, isn't anything like as strong as it was or as strong as the mainline ARs.

i do agree, i remember in closed beta there was a few guys which used the mass driver, and they were pretty good at it. You know something is op when the vas majority choose another weapon (except the AR). Because, let's be honest, the AR is the standard assault weapon, no need to cry because it's overused because that's exactly how it should be. The real problem is that there are not the other racial versions of all the weapons. If we had them we wouldn't be here talking about how OP or how good the mass driver is. You would probably be crying because of the Rail Rifle or the Combat rifle n.n |

I ran into this fun new tactic the other night, spam flux grenades, then spam MD, instant win and 5-6 kills on a squad of people by one person. It's pretty ridiculous that you can pair up these two.
Maybe if flux grenades didn't immediately remove all of your shields, but as is, god damn that is nigh impossible to counter in close quarters.
Friendly fire would help prevent the spam however. As is, you can run in, throw grenades and spam AOE weapons without penalty to yourself or anyone else. Since you don't really have to aim, you can concentrate only on dodging and spamming while racking up kills. |
