Been using a MD for months now and while 1.3 made them good I think they are short of OP. What I have seen is a handful of people who are really good with it and they are a nightmare to play against but I think that is true of all weapons. I see a next tier of players like me that are ok with it. Yeah, we can be annoying but getting the kill with an indirect fire weapon on a moving target is not always an easy thing. Then there are are the FotM spammers who just carpet an area. While annoying, just go around them. In addition, it is the flux/MD combo that is so strong, so it is actually 2 weapons in conjunction causing the noise.
If I run into shield tank and I am out of fluxes, I will generally lose unless I land some direct hits. That'/ where those few who are really good with it shine. |

Things that routinely kill me when using a MD:
Snipers
Tac AR
Shotty
Myself :)
Remember, MD is really good for logis and logis have no sidearm. More often than not, those MD users are logis that you can close on and fight in CQC. This can easily lead to the logi killing himself in the blast. |

You decided to engage a MD at the range where it excels and you call BS because it beat you? Look at what everyone says on how to beat a MD. Either long range or short range. By all means, come at me from midrange, where it's easy for me to drop my shells where I want them and I can reach you with my grenades.
Hell at least charge the guy, it's harder to adjust to changing range than it is to side to side motion with an MD and you may just get to the point where my attacks hurt me too. |

Hell at least charge the guy, it's harder to adjust to changing range than it is to side to side motion with an MD and you may just get to the point where my attacks hurt me too. well thats because you dont even have to adjust for strafing motions with an AOE of 6 meters (9 if using assault MD).
Of course there's a reason it's easier. That's like me saying it's easier to hit a charging target with an AR because it fires in a flat trajectory. The point being that you can't engage a MD as if it is an AR. If you do, you will lose.
I think this is what people are having a hard time adjusting to. Differing ranges aside, most other weapons work the same. Move side to side and make yourself harder to hit. With a MD it is more move back and forth and be harder to hit. It's just not what people are used to.
Yes, the splash is a big radius, but if all I hit you with is splash, your shields laugh at me. Hence flux grenades. |

Lol, that's awesome, but it brings yet a third weapon into the mix. Is it OP when you combine Flux, MD and RE or is that just smart tactics. Finding synergy between weapons and using strategy seems less OP and more brains.
