For pubs I run suits that range from 4k to 35k. My go to suit is about 13k. On the rare occasion I will pull out a proto suit(100-150k).

There should be standard level BPOs of all role specific suits(sentinal, logistics, etc) for all races. It would be nice to see standard weapons as well but it's not really necessary as most people use advanced weapons.

With there being no advanced warning the bolas should do zero collision damage(and perhaps if the bolas were to hit something friendly have the bolas move out of the way). It should collide with and move enemy units but do no damage to them.
