I think there should be small deployable sentry guns that take up an equipment slot. They'd obviously be much weaker than an installation and would be roughly equivalent to a stationary assault in offense and defense.

Anyone can carry a nano hive, and it's very common for people to do so. This isn't specifically a logistics issue. Repair tools are generally only used by logistics, along with nanite injectors for some reason.

I agree, but remember that there are dropsuit modules that speed up hacking, and logistics suits get a 10% bonus on top of that. Spending time to add extra hacking defense is a good idea, though.

You can already do this in EVE. EVE's website is integrated with the game, so that you can check mail, see in-game info about people on the forums, and see and manage contacts, etc. I'm sure this will be coming for DUST at some point.
