First off, 'post level 5 content' is a good thing. Like Breakin said, it's probably reminiscent of the T2 ships from Eve Online. You trade versatility (slots) for raw power and dropsuit bonuses (more CPU/PG, "+5% per level" becomes "10% per level"...
