HMG needs tweeks w/o doubt. Firstly Aim Assistance - HMG shouldn't be supported by AA. Then strafing could be a thing vs HMG. Secondly DPS/Range - HMG efficiency [max DPS] should fall after closer range than it's now.

CR is still better. Not only because 80% of player base armor/double tank, but shooting with CR feels much better and smoother. Also CR gets through shields better than Burst AR gets through armor.
