I still believe that balancing the payouts around WP (if it will exists) would work if the WP system was reworked to balance the gains. As this is the easiest way to separate those who play and those who afk or do little to nothing.

PC could represent a ranking. Or any other form of battle in end game. I believe that they will maintain the team based gameplay in Nova and if so then there's no need/point in ranking queues for single units/single squads.
